Criston’s death is pretty much the same in the book just with a few different characters involved, but yeah his death is suppose to be quick and pathetic for a knight of his caliber. They cut out a line which I thought they would’ve kept since he was talking about songs so much lately. “I'll have no songs about how brave you died, Kingmaker. There's tens o' thousands dead on your account.”

Cole died the same way in the book. Here's an iconic quote from the book I wish they included: "I'll have no songs about how brave you died, Kingmaker." "There's tens o' thousands dead on your account." -Pate of Longleaf Just last episode Cole spoke about dying glorious in battle and they will sing songs of it. He was denied that and instead received an ignoble end. "Today was butchery, not battle" - Ser Garibald This 'battle' is known in their history as "Butcher's Ball" They adapted the battle well with the dialogue just a few changes of who said what and who shot the arrows.

There are far more soldiers still alive under his command in the book. He is also fired upon by multiple archers while still only being hit by 3 arrows. I am not aware of whether he was described as being on this suicide run while completely ignoring the welfare of his troops in the book or not. Because of this being the case in the show, when he asks to have his men spared, it doesn't feel very honorable, but rather hypocritical.

Yes Vermithor and Silverwing has a long history. King Jahaerys rode Vermithor and Queen Alysanne rode Silverwing and they bonded during their reign. I loved that part sm and happy they included that.

Something to look out for. A few episodes back when Helaena and Alicent were escorted to the room they’d be staying in after Rahenyra took king’s landing. Helaena immediately says she doesn’t like the room. I wonder if that’s the same room Cersei’s youngest son Tommin jumped out of. And we know Helaena has these powers so. Maybe some foreshadowing

Jokes aside i did enjoy his dialogue with Gwayne in s2 and earlier parts of this season, he was a rat but still interesting in realising the reality of the war. I like Ulf a lot actually and Daemon needs to chill. Ulf wasn't raised the same way of being a dragonrider so he needs to be more understanding. They're just continuing to alienate the people around them. Honestly I wouldn't blame Ulf if he left because they treat him so shitty.

I’m loving all the scenes with Oscar Tully and Ser Roderick I wish we got more with them. Criston’s death being so unceremonious all while he’s holding the handkerchief of someone who could care less about him seemed very fitting to me, such an interesting character from start to finish.

Compared to others in the verse those are mild. One of those was a clear accident as he meant to sit Lord Beesbury down, the other Cole felt so bad about he was ready to kill himself about it. Daemon, Cersei, Joffrey, Aemond, none of them show that much remorse for their actions, if they show any at all

I'm against how they treat him that's what my original comment is for. I agree to having rules for safety but there are better ways to communicate your displeasure. Hitting and belittling someone will have the opposite effect. He can be foolish and impatient but he's been out there following their orders albeit not perfectly but it shows that he is willing. Royalty or not stricter rules does not mean you get to shit on those you deem lesser than you. Daemon needs to lead by example and actually educate them better.

its so funny cole got denied a true last stand in Alicent's honor, really liked that they let him show some skill but ultimately had him go out sad... truly a character that lost his honor by his own choices but also one thats been used and abused by the priveliged ones that ultimately care little for him. Also i dont think Corlys is dead here, it was too understated to be a death for a piece like him. You guys looking more disgusted at Alys than when Aemond kissed his mom is too funny... Alys storyline starting to grow on me, this season the Harrenhall hijinks are much less annoying than the last season cause its not really intruding onto an already existing and paused plotline like it did with Daemon when he was stuck there and not yet fully declaring for Rhaenyra at such an important time for her

Vermithor and Silverwing are pretty closely bonded dragons, they are meant to be a lot closer in size though. Vermithor looks nearly twice the size, where as really he is only meant to be a few years older.

If they're going to ignore orders constantly and do what they want, it's no suprise violence is being used. Not defending Daemon, but Ulf isn't making it easier on his superiors.

I was glad when Criston died. It was long overdue. Cannon and Carter have some interesting analogies. Lol I like how spooky Alys is, but I feel like she's not really on any side. I was surprised by Alyn and Baela kissing since didn't have many scenes together. I feel so bad for Daeron. It was nice to get a glimpse of him away from Ormund. I am not convinced Corlys is dead. He has been on deaths door so many times. I don't know what Rhanerya thinks Alicent will be able to do. I get they want to give her more of a role, but it isn't going to work out how she wants it too. Poor Heleana. She never wanted this life and now she is being confined and will be alone. I can't believe the season is almost over. The pacing is slow, but I do like some of the extra things they have added.

I really think/hope they didn't kill Corly's, considering, 1) they left it on a cliff hanger, 2) those hightower dudes look like they were only choking him out, they easily had the drop on him and coulda stabbed him like crazy, 3) Ormund was saying earlier how he respects Corly's as a leader, and is a very smart guy, if i had to guess Ormund is trying to get Corlys on their side and get him to bend the knee to Daeron. since the show has changed the part of Rhaenyra legitimizing his sons maybe Ormund will tempt Corly's with that?

He didn't mean to kill Beesbury, but I'd agree he's not mild at all. Imo, his actions are more mild than Daemon's, though. He's a more complex character than people give him credit for, and I think that's in part due to his writing in the earlier seasons.

What a great way to put it. She basically asked all these people to leave everything behind in the HOPES of obtaining a dragon. Most of them were killed, along with some of Rhaenyra's own men, because she was so desperate. She's lucky she got any riders out of that atrocity.

Everytime theres a "good" king on the throne, people take it as "weak". I think Rhaenyra is doing her best considering all the F she's been through and still going The losses, the betrayals, the lack of money, the lack of support, and the never ending war against her. Aegon was "good", he was eager to please anyone who came to him with a request, which made him popular with the people. However, within the palace, he repeatedly made mistakes.. one of them was appointing Cole as Hand of the King.

This show feels exactly how civil war should feel. Brother killing brother, friends turning on each other, betrayals from people you least expect. Heleana's question broke my heart, her marrying Jace would have stopped civil war. She found him nice and he wouldn't have mistreated her. Instead she is getting raped by her own crazy brother. And then her children are getting killed to avenger that brother. Idk what I would have done if I were Rhaenyra, but I would have attacked Tumbleton. No need to burn the whole city, burn main place. I really like Gwayne and Daeron.
