I love seeing all the dragons on screen together but I HATE seeing them fight!

jblakk

The last 10ish minutes maybe 5 were all Ive been wanting this season. This episode really filled my wish list adaptation wise. Tyland a real one for not running away. He keeps being positioned as a coward but when forced to stand on business, he does every time. Also about your comments and wonders about if its being dragged or not. Its really complicated. This story definitely needed 4 seasons but season 2 and id argue episode 6 of this season wasted enough time where its getting really tight. I think 10 episodes next season is how much the story needs but 8 episodes is JUST enough if they dont waste any more time with inconsequential subplots. Ideally many of the events that will transpire in episode 8 of this season shoulda been in episode 6. But yeh anyone who told yall this series could have been done in 3 seasons is lying. PS: Sorry Mckay, Harrenhal is my fault. After season 1, I begged for them to adapt Alys because harrenhal has a lot of mystery about it in the books and the show is filling some blanks for better or worse. So, if youre wondering who that plot is for, its for me. My fault.

Clémence

Seeing the dragons gang up on Sheepstealer was so sad and I didn’t even notice at first that he tried to fly away and couldn’t 🥲

Redbluepurple

I'm not ready for the 2 year wait next week 💔💔

Frosty

nah that shirt is beast mode 😂

A.G

I like Aegon, Daeron, Ormond, and Aemond scenes. Alicent and Mysaria scenes are so bad. I dont wanna see incest and lesbian sex scenes man 🥀 what are they doing, that aegon moment at the end was hype tho

Warsame

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT JACE WAS TALKING ABOUT. Everyone kept saying, “Stop being so insecure,” but he literally warned Rhaenyra that giving dragons to commoners was a terrible idea. And now look where we are. Ulf has every reason to switch sides after the way Daemon has treated him. They’ve done nothing but disrespect and belittle him. It’s honestly so stupid to treat your dragonriders that badly and then expect complete loyalty. My heart honestly breaks for Sheepstealer and Rhaena. You could clearly see that Sheepstealer wasn’t just protecting himself he was protecting Rhaena too. But all Daemon saw was a wild dragon. If a dragon has accepted Rhaena as its rider, that should be all the proof anyone needs. Their bond is so obvious, yet everyone keeps ignoring it. It’s so frustrating. Especially now that Ulf and Silverwing are Team Green… Daemon is probably going to regret this. Sheepstealer would’ve been such a valuable dragon to have on their side. FINALLY, Helaena and Dreamfyre together!! Such a shame Dreamfyre looks nothing like she does in the books… Book Dreamfyre is much larger, one of the biggest dragons alive, with beautiful pale blue and white scales. Show Dreamfyre… I’m not gonna lie, she was ugly. The long horns, the face, and she looked purple and black instead of pale blue and white. Ugh… I really wanted to see the real Dreamfyre. ANYWAYS…

Arctic_stark

Stick to your guns Jack, you were right in the opening. Rhaenyra has been a horrible ruler so far, she's alienated her allies and refuses to anything to solve her problems. The most interesting parts of this season were Aegon and Daeron. I cant believe this show has me looking at Team Green favorably, I was fully onboard Team Black while reading the book.

Warsame

L SYRAX L SEASMOKE L CARAXES, 3 vs 1 is crazy Acting like sheepstealer is vhagar had to jump him sickening!!!

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

'living amongst nettles and sheep' havent even read it yet but from what ik, nettles really shouldve been a character man 😔

Dontsop Keran

Sheepstealer the real victim of this show smh

Arctic_stark

Poor Daemon has been out here from Day 1 trying to get someone to join him in taking out Vhagar in a 2v1 but it never works out 😭

Dontsop Keran

I’ve had Aegon stocks since S1 I feel so redeemed

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

bro, sheepstealer- 😭😭 logically ik its already a super high tension enviornment and theres not many options for rhaena, but im kinda upset she stood on business with daemon before but didnt try and advocate for sheepstealer more now :( or at least tryyy and command him away more 😫

Isabella Anderson

Honestly, forget team black or green. The show at this point has made me team Gold (Aegon, Sunfyre, and Tyland)

Clémence

I do wonder how they’re going to tie up the whole story in 9 episodes, I feel like there is so much that hasn’t happened yet…Maybe the ending of the show will be a few chapters earlier and they won’t adapt the rest of the book (I hope not). On another note I don’t ever want to see Alicent and Aemond on screen together… I always have to brace myself. No more.

Anya

Jack started the video hot lmao don't worry Jack I understand what you meant. You're looking at characters separately rather than lumping them together as one. You're able to change your mind on a character if you don't agree with the choices they make. Both sides can be criticized and both sides have intriguing characters. Not everything is black and white! Don't be a blind follower you're good Jack!

Anya

Sweet Helaena needs to be free not confined! The weight of being a dreamer can be heavy and I think being outside around nature helped her find balance. It reminded me of Daeron from akotsk. He was always drunk which I think was his way of coping. Being a dragon dreamer is a double-edged sword.

Frosty

Haven't personally had a problem with the pace of this season (i like a slow burn/build up and focus on more minute aspects) but i did think these last 2 episodes needed to have some more actionable events than the last few... and i think between the dragon fight and the last 5-10 minutes, it got it over the line. Aegon already honor farmed BUT THEN he also got Sunfyre back???? AND HE LOOKS LIKE HIM???? That duo and Dreamfyre look so tough im almost instantly rooting for them going forward lol. If the season finale next week delivers highly on pivotal events and payoffs then those 4 episodes of 'build up' are completely earned. I almost worry theres too many things to touch on in 1 last episode, that a good chunk get pushed to next season.

Skyz

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

let her just live free with her children and chickens frfr 😔😔 and so far all daerons r good daerons, cuz i loved akotsk daeron and am loving hotd daeron too 🫶🏻

Nate Drew

They aren't stretching out the seasons, 4 was always the plan people are just impatient.

Nate Drew

You mean the ONE book that has no character POV or dialogue? Such a weird take.

Nate Drew

Also D&D did a horrible job adapting the story of GoT even before they "got left hanging with no books" The fact that none of the Starks besides Bran can warg into their wolves when in the books all 6 of them can is just one example.

Mack

McKay let me tell you something

Anya

Poor Sheepstealer didn't deserve that! He's a wild dragon used to living in isolation so ofc he'd feel threatened around others and especially around three other dragons! He's also reacting off Rhaena's emotions. That cry at the end broke my heart. Doesn't matter which side the dragon is on it'll always hurt when they get hurt. During the red sowing the dragonkeepers said dragons are sacred and the last magic of old valyria not playthings for the games of men!

Yhwach

Rhaenyra is so unfit to rule. Glad to see her loose.

Nate Drew

The people saying this is a bad adaptation are the same people who think GoT was a good one even though it's completely different then the books. Ya'lls favorite character Tyrion is nothing like the book version. The Starks are completely different. But you don't complain about that. Very ironic.

Anya

What an epic entrance from Sunfyre and what a great shot of both of them burnt and disfigured

Lemonsqueeze

What did Rhaenyra do wrong? 1. Didn't legitimize Alyn 2. Generally forgets/avoids rewarding the people loyal to her 3. Never listens to Daemon 4. Letting Hightower members live, giving the hightower's allies something to fight for instead of bending the knee And that is just what came to my mind just now

Anya

Yes please free Helaena AND Daeron! And pls let that boy meet his mom! Their lives are being controlled and it's sad.

Anya

I kinda wished she never bothered him he was fine all by himself stealing sheep he really deserved better

Anya

😂😂😂

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

yesss, like they literally dont have ambition for anything but peace 😭 i mourn for their childhoods, and i do hope daeron and alicent will be able to meet :(

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

watching him whimper and limp off 😭💔 so sad having to watch any animals (mystic beasts included) be injured or killed in humans wars :(

Yhwach

The dragon Haelena was riding was Dreamfyre

Anya

I felt your crashout lmao and yeah it's disappointing but I understand why he would accept. Also he's not the only one looking out for himself so can't even be mad at him.

Anya

Also who's to say this is final? Maybe he's tricking Ormund! You'll have to wait and see.

Lothbrok

Day 2 asking for TSUKIMICHI Moonlit Fantasy reaction, PEAK ANIME

Daniella

I wanted to say this in the finale but i fully agree with Jack in the intro. I’m no longer “team black” nor “team green”, tbh this entire story is just one long history tale which Shireen first mentioned in s5 of GoT. I’m still emotionally invested in team black characters but i remember what Joffrey said in season 4 (no spoilers ik the geks skipped it) so i’m waiting to see how this all plays out. I’m just loving the chaos lmao 🤣

Daniella

I knew Sunfyre was still alive!!! He didn’t look fully decayed when we first saw him but he looks absolutely terrifying now and he matches Aegon with their burns, i hate and love how cool it was 🙂‍↕️

JAYN

You’re right Jack. Rhaenyra IS being a terrible ruler. You can believe she’s the rightful heir but still admit she’s been unfit to rule. It’s refreshing to see someone look at the characters individually and criticize or like them no matter the “team” they’re on. Don’t let them silence you!!

Jessica

I felt siiiick watching that 😭😭😭

Agent September 🏴‍☠️

Jack you are 100% correct. idk if its aegon & aemonds "redemption" arcs, the introduction of a new likeable green in daeron, or the time we get to spend with helaena, but the greens are definitely on the rise for me.

Dreamfyre

JACK TURNCOAT 😂

No Tap

Greens: Sunfyre - Aegon Vhagar - Aemond Tessarrion - Daeron Dreamfyre - Helaena Silverwing - Ulf Blacks: Caraxes - Daemon Vermithor - Hugh Syrax - Rhaenyra Moondancer - Baela Seasmoke - Addam Sheepstealer? - Rhaena Baby Tyraxes? - Joffrey Baby Stormcloud? - Aegon son of Rhaenyra/Daemon

Philbo

I said this before when it came to Rhaenyra's rule, while yes. she is making some dumbass decisions. her reign was already off to a bad start the second she took the throne cause ALL of the money was gone. The greens quite literally hoed her and i don't think she is gonna be able to financially recover. lastly, fucking Ulf man.... he is literally a child in a grown ass mans body... dude wouldn't be getting hit and punished by daemon so frequently if he just FOLLOWED ORDERS. then acting all chummy with Daemon of all people who already doesn't like you after just disobeying direct orders.. i need Mysaria (trying to get Rhaenyra to turn on daemon who is the only reason she is still on the throne as is) and Ulf to be corpses by the end of the show, idc

kami

JACK THE GOAT

McT

Facts! It's crazy to hear that her team is failing her, and not the other way around. Her Master of Coin gets laughed at and ignored, she alienated her hand by not legitimizing his sons who deserve it, she and Daemon treat Ulf like shit despite him being one of her main weapons, etc.

Yara

jack im with you, not that i don't care for rhaenyra but i also don't know if i care anymore - my personal take is i have the same feeling for rhaenyra as i had for viserys, i like their characters but i don't feel like they are very king or queen material seeing their decisions and lack for foresight which makes me sad to say, i was 100% team rhaenyra but i won't lie that i preferred her younger and more rebellious and decisive character than who she became now in her later years

Christian Hawkins

So what I’ve been noticing as a “neutral” a lot of the complaints for this season is coming from team black losing & the gradual revealing of how Rhaenyra is incapable of ruling & it all lines up & makes sense. I think the show is doing a great job of provoking those emotions & team black apologists are having none of it but Rhaenyra grieving her children’s deaths & the realm in the state it’s in because she’s a woman & not the “true heir” to throne. I think the show runners have built up & laid that out effectively. Maybe the reborn Aegon or Daeron are just better options to rule…

No Tap

I think in hindsight, there was really no major motivation for the Blacks to actually take King's Landing. Why not pursue the war from Dragonstone instead of sitting on a ticking time bomb? There is nothing Rhaenyra has done in King's Landing that couldn't be done in Dragonstone. The Iron Throne has become effectively an uncomfortable chair placed in the middle of a starving, hostile city.

Yara

i feel so bad for sheepstealer, he was literally minding his own business until rhaena found him and then got thrown into a war/conflict he never asked for, hope he will survive

Ante

That intro lol: Jack is sooo bad at defending his points. Just stand on it.

McKay Carter

No one is silencing anyone 💀

Bean

I STAND WITH JACK

Animeke

I wasn't expecting to get emotional over Sheepstealer getting ganged up on. Feel so bad for him.

Carrie

I think two things can be true at once: 1 - Rhaenyra was financially handicapped after taking the throne. The lack of resources at her disposal means no problem has a simple solution so it’s unlikely that any other ruler would have done much better in her shoes. 2 - She has a hubris problem and it’s making a bad situation worse.

Jack

Haha, hey even Cannon admitted it at the end. I’m disillusioned right now for sure. I had Rhaenyra’s back because she was heir but it’s been a rough time on the throne, not all her own fault obviously but she has done some stupid things. I mean, the writers have made it that way too with Corlys and stuff

This is Daniel

It's interesting that Sunfyre appeared when Aegon decided to stand his ground. It's like his worthiness resurrected Sunfyre; and they epic speech was the cherry atop of a very calorific, dirty cake you know your shouldn't be eating but similarly, can't resist 😋

Jack

Yeah, atp just pick yo ur favorite character and hope they make it to the end lol

Carrie

TGC is doing a fantastic job. His performance is becoming one of my favorites of the show & he’s been proving he’s the same caliber as Emma and Matt

Jack

😂

Jack

CHILL DRAGON

Jack

It was just some thoughts, I wasn’t really trying to defend myself because I wasn’t even totally clear on them. I’m honestly just up in the air, that’s all

Skylandcrooker

No way Aemond just killed Cpt. Price

Sam M

Ouch my ears. Please don't scream until you can normalize audio, thank you. It hurts very bad.

Hobatty

its actually fucking funny how they managed to make rhaenyra "King Maegor with teats", the woman who tried everything to take back her throne, into that... thing? its unbelievable. I can't fucking believe I'm liking more fucking Daeron than her GIRL GET THE FUCK UP

Anya

My coworker also watches you guys and she said Jack is Sheepstealer and Cannon Carter McKay are Syrax Caraxes and Seasmoke in that intro 😭😭 sorry had to share that made me crack tf up and made my day 😂😂

TheSauceGuy

It feels like a buildup at times still because of how they don't cover some pivotal events. They've also shifted some around to potentially fit them next season.

TheSauceGuy

Saw a Robert Craven sign by my house, but didn't check what he was advertising or promoting. Bob Coward.

Arctic_stark

Yeah I can’t exactly articulate what’s wrong with this show but it seems to always be in a holding pattern. Things happen occasionally and then we just go back to a waiting game in castles. Even major characters die and don’t seem to have impacted the story after their deaths like Jace and Rhaenys. We should feel like we’re deep into the Dance at this point but it still feels like we’re waiting for the main war to start.

Arctic_stark

The funny thing is that Rhaenyra is much more flawed in the Book and makes more mistakes, but shes decisive and takes action. You still want to root for her. I don’t think Rhaenyra can be excused on the Show by saying she is being let down by the people around her. Because ultimately as Queen she is responsible. She’s handpicked the horrible Council around her.

Ante

I only commented because I completely agree! At this point in the story I could see a world where I like Aegon or Daeron on the throne. Coming out of S1 it was Rhaenyra over everyone.

Dreamfyre

Lol love you Jack. Love all the Geks.

TheSauceGuy

I'm so glad Sheepstealer didn't die there. That would've been frustrating.

TheSauceGuy

SUNFYRE THE BILINGUAL RETURNS FINALLY!

TheSauceGuy

Ulf had no real assurances for after the war, so it's no wonder he switched sides. He already knows how Rhaenyra and the lords view him. Why would he want to fight for people who look down on him while simultaneously offering him nothing?

Christina LB

All the dragon scenes in this episode had me both so stressed out and so hyped. The fight between Sheestealer and the others was sooo difficult to watch, I'm glad he survived and I genuinely hope he and Rhaena will be reunited :') Dreamfyre is absolutely beautiful and the Aegon/ Sunfyre scene almost had me in tears lmao And I never thought I'd say it but Tyland was an MVP for staying with Aegon!

Ty Tang

Ulf most justified betrayal of all time

Paris

Jack pretending his “theories” are theories when he’s watched break downs and probably read the book will always be funny. Like the boys clearly call him out every episode for being sussy and none of them call him out outright 😭😭

Paris

Have they just accepted that they have a fake reactor on the couch? And they’re just ok with that?

Unfiltered Duo

I agree with cannon this show sucks lmao

George B

This show would be much different If Rhaenyra was a man sadly, in this world no one listens to a queen it seems like, everyone is disobeying her all the time so what exactly is she meant to do idk

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

yeahhh, i lk kinda get it, but also him saying theyd burn i was like oop- 😭 and 👀 not u out here giving me hope, lmaoo

Zess

Theres nothing to accept, it's just not true lol literally everyone on that couch has been messed with in some way for an accurate prediction. It's just a bit. Shows arent impossible to predict things lol

No Tap

nah Brig prewatched

Zess

Alright Canon, the "thats so craven" bit was a good one lol

Zess

Are they bilingual because Aegon is so bad at Valyrion? lol

Zess

It really does feel like the gods favor him for whatever reason lol

Zess

lol theres literal hundreds of anime that would be a better watch. It's not even bad, just generic isekai. There are better ones in the genre even.

Zess

Funny part about the Jace bit, is it was his idea originally in the books apparently lol

Isa cotovio

How was she supposed to pay the gold cloaks? Did you guys forgot the money was stolen??

Kelsey

@ 8:32 - I am totally aware that nobody cares, but for educational purposes - yes, it was a gray mare. Not white. When it comes to horses, a true white horse has pink skin with white hair. A gray horse may have white hair, but it's skin is a dark gray/black underneath. Gray horses (like the one in the vision) are born much much darker and only grow their white hair after they age for several years, while white horses have white hair from birth I used to ride a mare that was a true white horse, and people would always stop me at horse shows to take her picture because it's actually quite rare

Euphemia Isobel

Is Jack reading leaks? He tipped off just about every moment in the episode

humbleandkindness

always love the different opinions I can find on the couch

S Moonchild⁷

2 surprise resurrections, Corlys and Sunfyre. Is it Supernaturals, why are they doing this

Lothbrok

Another misunderstanding that drives the "plot" laughable bad show this is

Icchi

Rhaenyra deserves 0 glaze

Kelsey

Rhaenyra really missed the opportunity to play to Ulf's new-found ego. He was a perfect person to manipulate for her own needs, but she chose to try and put him in his place instead. Which just doesn't work on people like him

Clegane (GOT Season 1-8 enjoyer)

Yall gotta enjoy some episodes without trying to guess every next scene, its diluting it for u And Jack hates this show lmaoooo. Shoutout Aegon and RIP Criston tho.

Kim 555

One small thing, the screen at the bottom is not aligned and I can see the gray/white table and it's throwing me off

Goldyz

That name scares me

Jenny D

I see what Jack is saying. Rhaenyra was definitely not set up for success, but she also isn't utilizing what she has and making poor decisions. She is so focused on being the rightful and feeling justified in that which I get to some degree, but she is letting her insecurities get the better of her. I didn't like the scene with her and Heleana. Just because Heleana has seen things it doesn't mean she knows everything. Plus, I don't think she even fully understands most of what she is seeing until it happens. I liked her dreams, but they seemed more like regular dreams than prophecy. The shot of her on Dreamfyre was cool. Dreamfyre is definitely darker than the book images I have seen. I was intrigued by Mysaria at first, but that other woman clocked her. She doesn't have much power. She provides an ego boost and is telling Rhaenyra what she wants her to hear. Really felt bad for Sheepstealer. He and Rhaena definitely have a bond and I think maybe with time they could have trained him. I don't know what the timeline has been, but I would say she it's been a couple of weeks or maybe a month or two which isn't long enough to fully tame a wild dragon. The shot with the four dragons and reacting to the emotions of their riders and Sheepstealer was done well. Loved the shot of Sunfyre. I am not a fan on Aegon, but it can be hard not to empathize with him at times. Larys was right on his points about Aegon, but a big part of it was that Aegon was not raised as an heir and neglected by Viserys and then pressured by his mother and grandfather. As far as the pacing goes. I don't have an issue with them having four seasons, but some of the side plots are unnecessary. I get they are expanding the works and fleshing out characters, but I thought there would be more action. It seems like they are saving most of it for the last season. I hope we get an explosive last episode like we got in the beginning of season 3.

Kim 555

Cannon why are you saying it like the greens are united 😭? Aemond literally tried to kill Aegon, and Ormund wants Dareon to be king over Aegon AND Aemond. They all have dragons but there is no unity between them.

Jack

You mean not everything is black…. and green?

Anya

Exactly! Good one Jack! 😂

DonDuh103

THE DRAGONS ARE COMING, no wait they’re HERE!!!!!

DonDuh103

Marty Mcfly that’s your mother🤮🤮🤮🤮

DonDuh103

Aemonds listening to The Lonely Island - Motherlover on repeat😭😭😭😭

Avital Lockhart

SHE HAS NO MONEY what exactly is she suppose to do without the the Golden Cloaks, without the treasures and without ANYONE trusting her and tellin her the truth?! We saw a full ep about her making decisions and she did great with what she had.

Kadence

It’s so funny how similar Cersei and Rhaenyra are yet one is reviled as a villain and the other worshipped (by the fandom)

Kadence

And we’re gonna act like ULF isn’t perfectly justified in switching sides? He’s been treated like dogshit by daemon and the Queen even tho he wields a pretty damn big dragon

jrnoodles

Thank you! Jack is a turncoat. Ulf is a turncoat. That dragon fight was painful to look at. I just want every dragon to get along :(

Sock

The showrunners need to be arrested because genuinely what are they doing to these characters and their storylines

Sock

Idk even with terrible writing they could never make me hate Rhaenyra and I'm getting kinda sick of them trying to make me feel bad for aegon and all of team green because it's never going to work on me

Arctic_stark

1. She lost the Gold Cloaks because when Daemon brought in money and asked her to pay the Gold Cloaks she listened to Mysaria instead and gave away the money. 2. The only reason she even had the Gold Cloaks was because they felt personal loyalty to Daemon. She didnt do anything to get them on her side but she did lose them. 3. Her solution for having no money is to install a scapegoat who will take the blame, instead of finding someone who can solve the problem. And then the scapegoat gives her ideas to solve the problem, such as taxes, but she wont listen. 4. If she cant come up with ideas to get money, maybe she could listen to Daemon and go get money from the Free Cities using her dragons. But she insists on not using her only advantage, dragons, for anything. 5. If she cant find solutions to her problems maybe she shouldn't be queen. She has handpicked this awful Council herself where no one does their job. 6. The one episode where she did well and took Kings Landing was because that was the only episode where she listened to Daemon. She wanted to sleep off her depression in Dragonstone, but Daemon showed up and told her to take action. Before and after that one episode she refuses to do anything or to listen to Daemon's advice.

Animeke

The more I think about it, the more I'm favoring Aegon's side (not Green, Aegon only). He never wanted to become king and was never taught how to be one, so his rule was abysmal, egotistical, and tyranical. But I think the circumstances Aemond put him through has hopefully really humbled him and changed his perception of ruling and his approach to it. Tyland is an underrated character too, he is loyal AF, dude was willing to die fighting for Aegon and now Aegon also has all of the gold because of him.

Robby

It’s the eve of the season finale and I am rewatching all of this season with the Geks. I’m new to this group, so it’s been fun! Even though I have read the book and the show is following most of the major bones of it, there has been so much creative diversion/liberty taken with certain details and elements, I have no idea where this finale will land…which is very exciting. Additionally, with next season, the fourth, already being confirmed as being the end of this story, I am equally excited/mystified on how they are going to tie it up, dramatically, as Rhaenyra’s story is only a portion of the source material. This book covers decades! Having said all that, if you really love the show and are interested in more Targaryen history, I highly recommend starting the book Fire & Blood! The first half covers extensively the story of Aegon the Conqueror and the decades leading up to King Viserys. SO much history there to be enjoyed and there is a definitive point where you can stop as to not tread into HOTD territory if you want to remain spoiler free. In fact, the audio book is an excellent way to enjoy the story as it is a told tale. Just my thoughts! 🩷

DeeJayyy

Episode 8 was crazy….

aqualuvrgirl

this the kind of stuff i need injected in my veins... Tom Glynn-Carney the man that you are

Avital Lockhart

Gold Cloaks - Daemon's influence obviously mattered, but they later chose to support Rhaenyra herself. You said she "wouldn't listen" to solutions like taxes yet, in Episode 3 she literally send a raven and orders the Great Houses to send tribute. Tributes ARE taxes. About the Free Cities - What exactly is your idea here? Is she supposed to force the Free Cities to pay her, or burn everyone who refuses? Wouldn't it make more sense for her to take the money back from the people who took it from her? Daemon pushed her to act, but you forget that was still grieving! her father went through a period like that too. But when they need to, they both get back up and take action. And there's an irony here: in the book, where Celtigar actually DOES impose heavy taxes and fees, the money problem is solved at the cost of making Rhaenyra increasingly hated by the people. So "just tax everyone" isn't exactly the brilliant solution you're making it out to be. You can argue that Rhaenyra made bad decisions. That's fair. but your "solutions" are so much worse.

Taesbil

0:50 I hear you Jack, I get what you mean, and I think that's the read they want us to have—that both teams can be rooted for. I was "campless" for the longest time before finally steering over to the Blacks, but I've always had affection for the Greens. There are faults and strengths on both sides, because this is a grey story about grey characters. I think nowadays people view things as too black-and-white (not you guys specifically, I mean in general). The ASOIAF stories have always challenged that approach, and HoTD continues to bear that torch.

Amna

I mean you can have parallels and still be really different. Rhaenyra has also a lot of parallels with Catelyn. Alicient has parallels with Cersei and Catelyn too. They're not all exactly the same.

Amna

I'm sorry but I don't really get the hype with Aegon and Daeron both books and show wise🥴 it's also weird how badly ryan wants to give aegon a redemption arc and people to hate rhaenyra.....just follow the actual story and tell it how it is

Amna

I don't understand why they can't stay loyal to book rhaenyra because she's also flawed but also not weak. Ryan is making her look stupid and make weird decisions for no reason.

Amna

This comment section is kinda disappointing😭 you're not really suppose to uphold the feudalistic and patriarchal society in the show. That's kind of the main point of the story.....
