To me i think this arc and in particular season of the twd is very very overrated, I think the show needs the characters to dumb themselves down in order for the plot to work , the idea that andrea would trust some shady bond villain over someone like michonne who she spent months with while michonne protected her is asinine , I think maggie and glenn got captured very stupidly, it was like they were new to this whole apocalypse thing when they are more than 3 seasons into it

After rewatching twd Im more lenient with Andrea😭 like she’s not a bad person she’s just stupid LOL, michonne has amazing intuition and observation but from Andrea’s perspective michonne didn’t have anything to go from, michonne left and then came back and killed people and shot up their streets, she didn’t know about Glenn and Maggie initially and was told they were “escaped convicts”, AFTER that is where she’s stupid bc she could’ve put the dots together but I don’t 100% blame her in that situation bc she was sold a COMPLETELY different story than we know as viewers

Jack.......Michonne dropped her sword when the governer attacked her, she was choking him with her sheath. A sword doesn't have that white part covering covering its entire length, just the handle.

Well personally I think there’s nuance to those two situations, TWD is very good at showing vulnerabilities and human emotions, in Andrea’s case, she’s never been that smart, that’s part of her character in the show anyway. From her perspective, Michonne wants to leave this place that seems completely civilised and safe because it just “doesn’t feel right” of course lots of people would accept that, but I imagine lots of people wouldn’t think that was enough to go from especially since the consequences are horrific if she’s wrong. Even they said, part of michonnes character is she’s a lone wolf she’s not good at explaining herself, not only did she not have a lot of evidence she didn’t even explain that well. For Glenn and Maggie yeah they could’ve reacted better but I also just think they were a bit stunned bc Glenn knew him and Glenn probably wasn’t sure what to do either

Well i just reject the premise of andrea being stupid, she was a lawyer prior to the outbreak, lawyers famously have great deduction skills and know how to read people since that is part of the job. And the show never states it but in the comics do you know what career michonne had prior to be so good at reading people and deducing things??? LAWYER. Also i disagree with michonne not being great at explaining things, she explained the issues fine multiple times. Andrea just trusted the govenor more "just because". And you are underselling how dumb the capturing of Maggie and Glenn was, go rewatch that scene , again this is season 3 era of these characters they should be able to handle situations like that by now, and this episode proves they can considering they raided a whole community. and when I say this season is overrated im more so saying because people rank this as far and away as their favorite season, when I have season 1,2,4,5,6,9 all over it

I can't blame Andrea cuz Michonne never gave her any info. She had no idea about anything but now that she sees these things it'll be interesting to see what she does. However I will say that the governor has kinda given her an explanation for the heads and penny so that alone won't be enough to show Andrea that he's a bad guy. Hopefully seeing Daryl will raise red flags and maybe she find out about glenn & Maggies kidnapping.

I felt they never did ANYTHING with this fact. I've watched this show twice, and seen countless reactions and only realized this fact on this watch through, that's how poorly her past was used. I feel like everyone else's past experience is used, like Glenn being good with routes, Daryl with hunting and tracking, Rick with his discernment and quickness to take immediate action, as well as his early internal conflict of killing people as well as doing anything "illegal" lol. I feel like the way Michonne is, is the way Andrea should've been. Not so trusting, more discerning, holding information tight, sealed lips, very calculated, the way Michonne prods for information and the way she analyzes people. To me, Andrea NEVER gave off lawyer vibes, which is why I never remembered she was one, if anything, Michonne gives off more lawyer than anything, which she was in the comics, but it's never specified in the show I think, just that she was super into art collecting

it's kinda the same with Lori I feel. Us as viewers have so much insight into Shane's internal dilemma and dialogue, but he was barely showing anything on the surface, other than being frustrated with how things were done. Did Lori have some inkling as to who Shane really was, yeah kinda, but damn, that's her husbands best friend/brother and her sons uncle, kinda hard to view him in that light when you've known the man for YEARS as a kind and caring friend. Not saying everything she did was right, nor is she winning any mother of the year awards or wife awards, but she was really just trying to get Rick to see how Shane was slipping into madness, equating how Rick would do anything for his family, which Rick understands, and explains Shane thinks Lori, Carl and the baby were his, which I think really made it click for Rick, which I think he was in denial for a while. Only thing I won't defend is her pushing Rick away when he told her he killed him. Like girl, that's kinda what you were hinting at, but I personally chalk it up to her hearing Carl put down zombie Shane, and the realization that Shane is actually dead, and he did exactly what her and Dale thought he would do. Admittedly, she does try and reconcile with Rick rather soon, but still.

If you can get past season 8, imo thats the lowest point of the show. I was watching live and waiting week to week was too much for me. I think being able to binge now it was much easier to get through.

Yeah ur completely right I think, Lori and Andrea are victims of a common occurrence where female characters are hated 10x more than male characters for making bad decisions. She wasn’t perfect but nobody in the show is. I honestly think the worst things she ever did was get mad at Rick for killing Shane after telling him to, and constantly letting Carl slip away in the apocalypse. I mean, that’s not even a fraction as bad of what the other characters do/ have done. She also has one of the saddest and most gruesome deaths where other characters who did worse get way more mercy, they’re not my favourite characters by any means but I’m not gonna stand by while people hate on them just for being flawed people just like anyone would be in the apocalypse LOL

Yeah, Akuma, she could have. But why on Earth would the writers write that? Is that the story you would like to watch? And if not, then why do you find it hilarious and call it “plot armor”? I think it’s good writing in any show to not make a villain easy to kill/defeat/strike as well as realistic to not make a strong character (in this case Michonne) always just infallible in fights (in this case being able to strike the governor in this scene right away as you said). But that’s just me. Also, side note, but you’re not late. This was a thread from 10 days ago. How is 10 days making you “late to the comment”?
