Samuel

Finally been waiting all night😫😫

Mack

What’s good everyone

Guremaru

holy refresh pull, GOOD MORNING

Conk

This season so ass ngl

Dreamfyre

I'm gonna miss y'all! Love u Geks.

Grae

Oh nah not the double cuck corners LMAO

mai

your pfp is taking me out helppppp 😭

No Tap

It’s time to accept that Daemon is a great sword, but not an elite knight. He cheated at tourneys and has been shown to high diff or struggle with other elite knights of the realm. Especially if the other knight has a Valyrian steel sword Daemon might have to become a dragon merchant. Cole>Bold Jon>Daemon>Aemond on foot.

Nomaan

Rhaenyra hasn’t had any gold or a proper council to help rule. Aegon had all the gold, a proper experienced council with Otto as Hand and still flopped somehow and people want me to think that he’s better than Rhaenyra for some reason. That’s not even including his disgusting actions from season 1. So I’m with you Cannon

Brn934

Dats crazy. wheres TWD?

BipolarKitten

Someone on that couch said, "Jack's been getting too much attention lately," and turned his mic down

Isabella Anderson

Like he really got his shit rocked this episode. I have no doubt he would have died if it hadn’t been for dragon ex machina. He’s great on dragon back but at this point in his life he’s aged from his prime.

TyGuy97

For context, the book Fire & Blood is a historical retelling with unreliable narrators. Just means that spoilers from the book don’t really apply to the show itself, especially in regard to characters and their personal motivations.

Warsame

So what is Daemon without a dragon? Just all talk 💀💀

Scared Cannon

ROBERT BARATHEON DID NOTHING WRONG

SCAG

Team Green forever, that’s all. RIP my Queen.

Nomaan

Call me evil but idc about Helaenas death that much. starving herself and antagonising the Queen by saying Viserys would hate her but he wouldn’t hate YOU and ur brothers for usurping the throne he wanted for her?? Rhaenyra has been way too nice to Helaena and Alicent this season even tho they’re enemies. Yes the force feeding was uncomfortable but that’s far from the worst thing she could’ve done keeping Helaena and her child alive

No Tap

he is still an upper 5% swordman of the age, but there is a big difference between the top 5% and the top 1 % like Cole or Roxton. It's like Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafston.

No Tap

Well the gold was divided in 1x9 so I am not so sure that Aegon was drowning in Gold during his time one the throne. People think Aegon is better than Rhaenyra because he is funnier and is more active in the war itself. Also councils are appointed by the ruling monarch, if Rhaenyra (who was heir for decades) could not build up a sufficient support system or even "opposition government" during Alicents rule in KL when Rhae was on Dragonstone then that is her own fault. Rhaenyra is either unwilling to surround herself with competency, or competency seems to shun her it hurts me to say.

Grae

Now its time for the big questions Cannon, caving or a siege?

Nomaan

Oh cos he’s funner he’s better suited to rule? What sort of reasoning is that😂 and yes more active by getting him and his dragon crippled and allowing the city to be taken by Rhaenyra? And about the gold, Tyland is on the council. The Lannisters have some of the gold he absolutely did not have any money issues what are we sayinggggf

Samuel

What? Better than S2

Samuel

I dont think Daemon was on Caraxes at the end there. I think Caraxes was just trying to push away Silverwing and Vermithor was going to protect Silverwing if anything happened since they are mates

No Tap

Alicent has been Rhaenyra's biggest and most useful supporter since 2x8. No character on the blacks has done more for Rhaenyra than Alicent has. "Force feeding" or what I would call state mandated torture was likely the only non-supernatural force that pushed Helaena over the edge.

Nomaan

Being force fed is what led Helaena to commit suicide but not when her child was having his literal head sewn off right in front of her? Interesting

No Tap

Women Tea. If Queen Elizabeth sends the treasury away from London, she does not have access to the Treasury from that point forward in London? Does that make sense? I never said Aegon being funnier made him more suited to rule , I would say his historical claim, his factions political stability, his own personal kindness to the small folk etc.. serve as examples of him being better suited, however that is not what I claimed nor what I responded to. I simply stated that being funny and being more active in a war during a TV show about a civil war may make people think he is better.

andythesaladgod

been somewhat vindicated this season, glad to see our numbers growing

Nomaan

Aegon was literally hosting FEASTS in season 2 while the smallfolk were starving. Did u forget that cos it was a key part of Rhaenyra and Mysarias plan by sending food. So I’d say they had plenty of gold to waste away until Rhaenyra came and they barely had enough gold to last a couple weeks. And please don’t use lies about Aegon being nice to the smallfolk cos that’s just fundamentally not true? The guy who was in Flea Bottom watching children fight each other (his own bastard children in the show). So id say with the rape of a maid, paying and watching for children to fight and feasting while the people were starving does not make him beloved of the smallfolk

Hobatty

nah rip Haelena you will not be missed

Hobatty

sorry rhaenyra is lame at the throne but i still by her side im here to support her rights but her wrongs too🥱

No Tap

I’m glad this episode ended the mythologizing about the north. #Andals4Ever

Oscar Rustynails

Yeah there's 200k more followers on the Greens subreddit than there is on the Blacks one which is crazy cause the Blacks used to have more

kami

The problem with Rhaenyra is that she should have been in cruel mode since Lucerys’s death. It took too long to develop the character, and many people became discouraged with her. The show lost a lot by trying to keep Rhaenyra as the innocent, wronged heroine

No Tap

As Manderly said in S3, maybe you missed it over your Rhaenyra worship. But King's Landing was only starving because of Rhaenyra's blockade. Create the problem sell the solution. Genius PR move by Rhaenyra but to act like this was Rhaenyra showing her benevolence is absurd. You tell me given there interactions in the city and among the smallfolk who is more beloved, Aegon or Rhaenyra... the answer is clear.

andythesaladgod

all I'm gonna say is that Rhaenyra has been sitting on that throne for much less time than Aegon ever did and already cut herself, not that Aegon is a particularly competent King, but he is still better than Rhaenyra.

half banana

I sure love hearing Jack LMAO

Nomaan

Loved how u ignored the fact that your King Aegon was hosting feasts while the people were starving and that was also during the blockade so whats ur point? He had enough food and gold for that but not to feed the people? And if I prefer Rhaenyra over Aegon then I’d gladly be called a “Rhaenyra worshipper” and in regards to the other point, Rhaenyra has always been more loved than Aegon. She was literally called the Realm’s delight, the same title that Aegon was fantasising about having for himself in last seasons finale EDIT: The person I was replying to blocked me cos clearly they couldn’t find a valid rebuttal to my argument. Oh well x

Jenny D

This was rough. I was shook after this episode and was definitely not okay. I agree with Carter. There really is no protagonist anymore. They did a good job with making Rhaenyra look like an evil queen. I was definitely rooting for her up until now. I get that she had hardships, but killing the high Septon and basically naming herself the chosen one is not the way to go. I guess I am not really on either team now. I like Daemon, and Baela. But, I also like Gwayne and Daeron. I like that Baela finally called Rhaenyra out on keeping her becauae she needs her dragon. Heleana's death was so sad. I knew it was coming, but still. She deserved a peaceful life. I am not a fan of Mysaria, but Rhaenyra made a mistake spurring her like that. I heard apparently the butterfly scene with Alicent may have been about a comment George R.R. Martin made about how he felt about the show.

Nasty

Yea it's alot better

Nomaan

@andythesaladgod Aegon the Conqueror also cut himself and he’s the one who forged the throne. Is there a hidden symbolic God sent message that getting cut by the throne means ur unfit? Cos if that’s the case why would the gods send the white hart that we see in season 1 to Rhaenyra? I think it just shows that it shows true rulers can’t sit easy on the throne. Aside from the fact that it’s a throne made of sharp swords.

Aokiji Piece🧊

@No Tap I’m not that into UFC, but didn’t Alexander hold his own against Jon Jones? At least in the first fight they were almost equal, but I believe he wasn’t nearly as competitive in the second fight. Correct me if I’m wrong I just wanna know more.

kami

Another problem with the show was its decision to portray the Greens as the worst people imaginable, simply to hand all the spotlight to Team Black rather than building a more balanced conflict. This breaks the logic of the story itself. The Dance of the Dragons works better when no one is the “hero” and both sides are ambiguous, cruel, and driven by ambition, fear, and revenge. When the show decides that one side needs to be morally superior, the conflict stops being interesting and turns into almost a competition of who is the lesser evil… with the score already decided from the beginning.

Grae

Its really cool how the tapestry in the intro is the one that Heleana is making the whole time. You guys skipped it but the intro changed a bit at the end with the tapestry cindering into new stitches, replacing the usual golden Sunfyre behind Aegon display with their scarred versions, and with Sunfyre getting a more red and black hue.

andythesaladgod

RIP Ormund Hightower, will forever miss Westerosi Dennis Reynolds and his fabulous armor.

JMP

I can’t help but think the butterfly scene with Alicent is a snipe at George’s beware the butterflies blog post. Now I think George was ultimately right with the butterfly effect with removing Maelor since I think helaena’s death in the book is better executed. But I also found it intriguing how the showrunners forced themselves to create their own ending and motivations which I think was cool (even though it wasn’t as good as the source personally).

andythesaladgod

Ned Stark was performing miracles keeping these guys in line

aya

Rhaenyra and Aegon on the throne are just a big no for me 😭and that’s how it was in the books too neither of them was a good ruler. So I think the show did a good job showing that, even though I absolutely love Rhaenyra as a character

Darrell Henry

I support Rhaenya’s rights and her wrongs. They stole her throne, killed two of her sons and hate her simply because she’s a woman. Let her burn it all down.

Hobatty

the starks pr falling down is finally happening fuuuck out of here with that "Northerners embody pure honor" bullshit

jblakk

Cannon in need of some wholesome hoops. He needs the KOTSK lmfao But on a serious note, the difference between HOTD and GoT is the proper story of A song of Ice and Fire is just that. A proper story. Thats why it has its Danys and Jons. But HOTD is history. Its the tale of the fall of the dragons. Its how the house of the dragon crumbles within. Its like watching Chernobyl or pompei or WW2. Imagine if they did a show for WW2 but ACTUALLY showed the truth and the atrocities the US did as well. Youd come out thinking the world has no heroes too. Thats kind of what the Dance of the Dragons is. War is terrible. Monarchy is terrible. Power imabalance crumbles the small folk.

Bird

bro said season 4 ratings will plummet lol oh how little does he know

Alex

Finally rhaenyra is an interesting character like George wrote. Great ep!

Yara

cannon i love that All Saints shirt on you

Yara

i love that baela called out rhaenyra for using people and discarding them even her most loyal allies AND i also love that rhaneyra put baela back in her place and acted as ruler who inspired some degree of fear i mean she is queen like what type of entitled insolence basically im not picking a side anymore just enjoying the drama

Lemonsqueeze

I feel like sometimes you guys take the comments as complaining when it's just people discussing the show and their opinion in contrast to your opinion :) But then again I'm rarely reading all the comments so I might be wrong

codesterr

Rhaenyra and team black have just been on the backfoot since Viserys got sick. some because of her lack of action, some bc of all the conspiring against her. she shouldnt have taken the lack of legitimacy of her sons so lightly. she needed to stay in kings landing, despite the rumor, to stake her claim and build her support. she shouldn't have taken kings landing so early. she already had so much against her and she's just been reactionary the entire series. its tough to be team black

Marlon Douglas

Carter In the end, Caraxes(without Daemon) pursues Ulf and Silverwing , and Vermithor appears right behind, likely confused as to why Caraxes is attacking his "sweetheart." Caraxes realized Silverwing was screwing up, so he tried to stop her.

Nomaan

Ned really painted them in a better light than they actually are😂

Dontsop Keran

Fr he was speaking in parseltounge the whole ep

Warsame

It’s such a shame because when Helaena jumps from her window and dies, like she does in the book, Dreamfyre starts roaring so loudly and hysterically that the entire Dragonpit is shaking, and the two chains holding Dreamfyre break. It could have been such a beautiful final moment between Helaena and Dreamfyre. 😭

xSaorix

I quit watching this show mid season2. But I’ve always known since season 1, that this show wasn’t going to be about good characters. Even game of thrones, Danny is good I guess, but at the end of the day it’s never been about ruling and morality. It’s always been power hungry people going crazy for a shot at power. It’s been about entitlement and privilege, save a few characters. I’ve never read the books. But Rhaenyra irked me from early on. I liked her I GUESS. I liked the dragons. But the moment she killed that poor guy to take her gay husbands spot (forgot name lol), she wasn’t anyone moral or to root for. What does she even do actually to be seen as a good ruler or a strong person? Anyway this is why I’m excited for Dunk. He’s a good guy at least. I know you’ll like that show leagues more Cannon. That’s why, as much as how interesting and fun GOT is, partially because I watched it when I was young so there’s nostalgia, but also because it was entertaining…it’ll still never be MY type of story. So I agree cannon. Watching HOTD, it sort of feels like…what’s the point in consuming a story about villainy? It doesn’t connect with me personally either.

kivu_king

is this season worth watching? i know season 2 was mickey mouse and i barely remember anything

Arctic_stark

Daemon is nearing 50 by now, it’s a miracle he’s still out there fighting. It’s not surprising that Roxton would beat Daemon. And Roxton is clearly Ormund’s enforcer in the prime of his life, he’s supposed to be the Gregor to Ormund’s Tywin. Daemon is most valuable as a general and a dragonlord, which is what he should have stuck to doing.

xSaorix

ALSO…no offense but why is the entire fandom so…childish lol. And so passionate and almost para-social with all of this?? I’d cry if I were grrm

Sock

Agree the writing is so dumb when they have the source material right there

Sock

Exactly imo she's still being very tame and should do worse🤷

No Tap

excuse me sir Billy Yank and the boys were the most moral army put on earth during WW2

No Tap

yeah for sure Gus gave Jones a run for his money in the first fight but most agree in hindsight it was a clear Jones decision. Maybe Rumble Johnson would have been a better example.

Nivek

Everyone’s gotta be a merchant if they have a contradictory opinion I guess

No Tap

I say this with the utmost respect for the team and everything you build here, but the microphone quality for this episode fell short of the high standards we’ve come to expect from the channel. I totally understand the push to release a quick reaction while the hype is fresh, especially given the live-airing nature and how well this alternative reaction format worked for Stranger Things. But given that this is essentially a flagship show for the Geks (having helped launch both GOT and Cinema Gek on the channel), I felt it was worth sharing my honest feedback. Speaking for myself, I would have happily waited a month and paid for another month's subscription if it meant having all four of you together in the studio with full production quality for the Season 3 finale. I will still happily watch and will be back for AKOTSK/Star Wars but the hope is that even if this reaction format is required going forward at certain times, that additional pre-recording testing could be done.

jrnoodles

Thanks Geks! Wouldn't have minded waiting a bit longer if it could've spared the audio feedback 😅Also, I don't know if it's because team black took so many L this season or the writing really took a dive but I didn't really enjoy this season compared to the other. I love seeing Cannon so stressed lol Love your reactions, you're top 5 Gek.

Dontsop Keran

Yea it was always going to be a tragedy

Yara

whats wrong with the sound this reaction, it picks up the sound twice for the episode and everytime jacks speaks it either doesn't pick it up (we hear mumble) or its very loud

Sock

I don't care that she had the high septon killed🤷

Daniella

"I'M ALIVEEEE" gosh i hate him but Aegon's funny 😭

Jack

Dang, didn’t realize it was so bad

Lemonsqueeze

It really do be feeling like that now.. Like 90% of the viewers haven't even read the books lmao

Nivek

For real…Team black btw but it’s just a little annoying hearing it across multiple shows

BROCODEDUDE

bro, someone in the previous comments said Daeron looks like Brig & I can’t unsee it.

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

'we're starting off /another/ intro with a bone to pick-?' 😂😂 but yeah, i agree rhaenyra was dealt a particularly bad hand to start with 🙂‍↕️

plob

I know you're trying to release the reaction as soon as possible to maximize engagement, but this is unacceptable. Jack should be on the left and Mckay on the right Jokes aside, thanks for always getting the reactions out so quickly after the episodes air.

Robby

When Jack held up the picture of the Evil Queen from Snow White on his phone, I died laughing. That costume of Rhaenyra’s was a CHOICE. 😜

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

could be wrong (someone plz let me know if i am!) but i thinkkk the listing with 'the name of the warrior' knighting and such may be associated with the old gods, whereas the hightowers have their own religion with the seven edit: remembered that that literally was the knighthoods vow of the seven lol, brain fart moment! ty to the correctors 🙂‍↕️ ormunds vows do kinda seem strangely improper then

Dreamfyre

I agree with Cannon! I've been team Rhaenyra since S1E1, so it's gonna take a lot for me to abandon her now. Yes, she's made mistakes. Yes, she's becoming more ruthless, but nothing like Joffrey or Ramsay. What else is she gonna do at this point!? Almost everything has been taken from her. Again, she's not perfect, but people flip flopping is crazy. It's also hard to forget the horrible things Aegon and Aemond have done, even though they're trying to rebuild their image (which I have to say, I AM liking their arc!).

Dreamfyre

She's also spent THREE seasons now trying to do thing "nicely" and not be ruthless. I think we're way past that at this point...

Arctic_stark

Nope, the Warrior is part of the Seven. There are no knightly oaths and traditions for the Old Gods, it’s why the North doesn’t have many knights.

DonDuh103

Idk man for 1-3 seasons no one took Rhaenyra being queen seriously before she was queen and after. I’m glad she’s on her F shizz, everyone had a chance to show they were loyal instead they manipulated her for what they believed is right. Burn it down!

DonDuh103

Ulf is such a loser. Where are all his defenders? Please come out and say something. I remember people being like oh he’s not of nobility he’s a peasant so he doesn’t know how to act people treat him like trash. Maybe act more respectable and show that you can take there abuse to turn it to discipline, maybe they would see your not some push over bum. But he’s just a child that drinks😂

Daniella

Great outro discussion! Although, this should've been how it was in the beginning of the show, this season really hammered home that this is only a tale in history, that "the dance of dragons" was the downfall of the Targaryens greatest power and human insatiable greed for power. Yeah it's hard because you want to root for certain characters, who have clear cut been done so wrong aka Rhaenyra, but for me personally this is how complex she should've been at least from season 2 (especially after Luke died) which would've made her "cruelty" now more digestable. Overall, I really liked this season a lot better than s2 and Emma Darcy seriously deserves an emmy, they did such a great job. Tom Glynn-Carney and Matt Smith (my precious doctor) were also standouts for me in acting too :)

DonDuh103

I read both y’all’s back info forth just wanted say I like them both as characters but they both ass cheeks as rulers! Alicent and Otto should have sat in the Iron Throne!🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

DonDuh103

I vote Alicent and Otto for Iron Throne!

Daniella

RIP Helaena though, she did not deserve any of that. Forced to marry her brother and have kids with him, then has to watch her son die. Then she’s forced to be locked in the castle just depressed…the one choice she made for herself was death :(

No Tap

Ulf is the goat bro just wants some pints with the lads. As Ormund said, a man needs his sustenance and cheer.

No Tap

Yeah IDK how Condal could mix that up. Somehow Daemon gave more Faith of the Seven compliant vows than Ormund.

DonDuh103

Bro was trying to make the Hangover prequel😭😭 Ulf said hold my beer as he proceeds completely single-handedly destroy both armies😂😂

No Tap

Bro Rhaenyra is so goated for being Arya's great-great-great-great-great-great Grandma. Without Rhaenyra, Arya would never have gotten trained by the Faceless Men of King's Landing to take out the Night King.

DonDuh103

US dropped a Nuke on a country I think everyone’s aware of the bad? They literally announced what the US did?

Zah

I agree😂 she’s finally taking action and being a demon and people are mad

DonDuh103

She really wasn’t even as bad as Daenerys. Rhaenyra also wanted Damon not to destroy shit and he tried but things went to shit🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

@artic ahhh ok, yes, i realized i got it backwards! silly considering they go through seven people in those vows and they referenced them a lot in akotsk, its just been awhile so i forgot and got it mixed up somehow 🙂‍↕️ tyty

Ante

So happy Daemon got packed up. Bro been feeling like top 1 for too long. Also I don't agree with the switch being too sudden with Rhaenyra. Aegon/Sunfyre returning was a world-shattering Omen, and she was f*cking terrified. All the pussyfooting she did in the last 7 episodes left her with a steaming pile of nothing in the end. At some point you have to commit to getting shit done and stand on it. Screw the High Septon for legitimising the Usurper. Screw Misaria for being a rat. Screw Helaena (jk I love you Helaena) for not recognizing that any other king would have had her head on a spike. I'm down for Rhaenyra 'Cersei' Targaryen personally, this actually put me back on Team Black. Let it be smoke in S4.

DonDuh103

How they related? Am I stupid?

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

'aye, gate open, then die' ok love, lol - ironically i feel like theres genuinely more comedic beats in this episode then there has been in awhile, even as rhaenyra slips?

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

i feel kind of bad for alyn, i would not have forseen him being the one to kill a priest :( rhaenyras fallinggg 🫣

Nomaan

Instead we got Alicent seeing some butterflies. What a disappointing change

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

FULL BODY FLINCH AT THE MAN SLICING THAT KIDS FACE-? the hesitation actually had me thinking he was gonna turn back around 😭😭

Skyz

Rhaenyra really isn't that cruel yet. At the end of the day she is the rightful heir, she's lost two sons in this war and everyone is out against her. She has always tried to be diplomatic, take the high road on all her decisions and everything bites her in the ass. The gold is gone from KL, the High Septon won't anoint her, Ormund falsely swore fealty and even some of her allies quietly doubt her because she is a woman. This is fuck around and find out Rhaenyra now, The High Septon didn't even question crowning Aegon even though at the time Rhaenyra was the publicly anointed Heir.

Skyz

The show really doesn't care to name some of these characters, Roddy the Ruin, Black Alys and Jon Roxton. Also Jon wields Orphanmaker, a Valyrian steel sword.

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

helaena :((( ik it was coming from book spoilers, but im still so upset...she shouldve gotten her countryside life with chickens, smh 😭😭

Skyz

Daemon is also smaller than Jon and nearly 50 years old, the fight also doesn't happen in the books.

DonDuh103

Idk why people are disliking Daemon right now he’s trying to take Tumbleton the way Rhaenyra wanted he literally said in quote to Qwayne “No one will rule but Rhaenyra”? He didn’t use his dragon except to burn the gate down and told those kids to move and then went in the town without his dragon even tho he knew it would have been the easiest way. On real people just hating Daemon cause his character is written very well and there’s a lot of Daemon glazers that say he’s better then Rhaenyra. I love them both equally as long as they’re in the same side that makes me happy.

McT

Yeah, this season is a good follow up to S1's dynamic (where Rhaenyra was the rightful heir but very flawed and reckless, and Green were in the wrong while also abiding by law and tradition). Season 2 ruined that by making Rhaenyra the benevolent pure queen of peace, and the Greens a bunch of psychopaths and hypocrites.

No Tap

No, but D&D are.

Sock

Blaming grrm when you need to be on ryan condal's neck instead smh

DonDuh103

Rhaenyra thinking she’s Marvel Jesus😭😭😭😭

No Tap

The worst thing possible happened to Daeron this season… he got turned into Jace 2.0

Nate Drew

It's crazy to me to hear the Geks having mixed feelings about this season (It's ok to have your opinions) because this season to me has been the best one so far by a mile. Season 1 was solid with a lot of great moments, 2 was decent with a couple good moments, and 3 has been the most consistent with great episodes all the way through aside from Episode 5 being a little slow.

Nate Drew

I think Rhaenyra's armor was probably one of the coolest we've seen out of all the shows from this universe. Definitely the most badass that we've seen on any female character.

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

silverwing and vermithor r the sweethearts, no? so it seems caraxes may be trying to scare her off and vermithor going to defend her

Nate Drew

100% agree. Kind of a bummer they couldn't have just waited a few days especially considering it's the season finale + one of the best episodes of the series and we won't be getting the next season for at least 2 years. The audio in this is actually abysmal.

Nate Drew

And 90% of the complainers just get all their info off Tiktok and then go acting like they know how the book went lol.

aubrey

@andythesaladgod "Nonsense. It's a chair made of steel blades. Rhaenyra had wanted it all her life and sacrificed two sons for it. She likely gripped the damned thing too tight."

Nate Drew

Funny because all the complainers haven't even read the book and just get all their info off tiktok losers who also haven't read the book and just google after each episode if that's how it went or not.

Nate Drew

Best season of the series by a mile!

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

oh thats such an upsetting change :(( even if helaena doesnt favor dragon riding in the show, its sad weve seen next to nothing of dreamfyre still too

Nate Drew

Facts this isn't suppose to be a story with a hopeful outcome, it's a story of tragedy. The very first scene of the entire series makes that pretty clear when it said "The only thing that could tear down the House of the Dragon, WAS itself"

Tyrell D. Rose

Rhaenyra is not cruel, I think anyone else would've done the same and worse. She's only keeping Helaena alive for obvious reasons, she's killing a guy who's insulting her, idk if any of her ancestors would've waited for a priest to name them king in her place 😂 I think that idea is ridiculous and they would've done what she just did a long time ago but could be wrong. In the position that she's in, she must kill people, it's how this world works, so of course we've never seen that side of her before, but it became more and more evident to her that the Viserys way is no longer possible, and that's what she's been doing for 3 seasons now. If anything, it took a long time for her to change like she did given how much she suffured from it. She's not evil, she killed Otto, forced her hostage to "stay alive", killed people who are in fact traitors if they don't recognize her as queen. She's not a princess, that's why there's a war, because there's a king and a queen. In this moment, she is THE queen. Calling her princess is making yourself take a side and a traitor to the other side.

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

nah i stand on that 😭 i hate ulf for involving all the civilians and everyone else in his hurt feelings, but the point remains. people of power think theyre above the consequences of their mistreatment, and theyre not - u can also see this on a smaller scale with ppl like baela calling rhaenyra out on her treament lately too

Nate Drew

They made Helaena a much more interesting character in the show, in the book she is only mentioned twice, the killing of Jaehaerys and then her suicide. In my opinion Maelor's death (a son she can't even stand looking at) being the final thing to push her to her breaking point is so much worse then all the reasons the show built up for her. Helaena's overwhelming prophetic burdens, Rhaenyra’s escalating cruelty, isolation, and her haunting visions of the future are all a better and more believable reason she would end her life.

Anya

Emma D'Arcy was phenomenal 👏 can't wait for next season it'll be rough waiting two years!

Anya

Oh yeah she's definitely not the worst. I actually think she should've been on demon time when she found out they crowned Aegon.

Anya

Agree

Anya

She was doomed the moment she was born into royalty 💔

Max Hinton

i mean viserys would not hate his sons for "usurping" the throne. He would have understood that him saying bloody "aegon" while dying could totally be understood as the first aegon, not the second lmao. He wouldn't hate either of his children

Anya

I actually came to like Gwayne and bless him for trying to sue for peace even though it was too late lmao let's be glad at least Ormund is dead so Daeron is free of him at least!

Anya

Yeah fuck Ulf for that ths civilians are innocent should've just took out Ormund

Nate Drew

The "source material" isn't even set in stone it was written by Archmaester Gyldayn who wasn't even alive until almost two centuries later. He compiled his history using earlier primary sources and accounts from people who actually lived through the era, such as Grand Maester Munkun, Septon Eustace, and Mushroom. There's a lot of real life history that was written the same way and there is no way to prove if things went the way they are described, especially when it comes to conversations or peoples actual personalities.

Anya

Darth Rhaenyra I'm here for it 🫣

Anya

I'M ALIIIVEE 😂

Anya

Just Otto 🫣

Vik Mar

Coz its game of thrones it has always had people on a grip like this even tho I agree its too much

Nate Drew

Helaena's overwhelming prophetic burdens, Rhaenyra’s escalating cruelty, isolation, and her haunting visions of the future is what led to her death not just "being force fed". You can even see early signs of self harm when she's literally sticking a sewing needle into her own finger.

Tyrell D. Rose

Yeah, maybe HOTD should've been 3 seasons? S2 and 3 mixed together somehow and the last one would've been S3 instead of 4 seasons and having characters stuck in places? idk

Anya

Well said Saki I agree. Hurt people hurt people and the cycle continues and escalates

Anya

I laughed lmao and Carter waiting patiently to start 😂

Anya

Lmao same and Tom Glynn-Carney is such a great actor!

Nate Drew

People need to realize this already, it's actually annoying seeing all these complainers say "the show has bad writing and why don't they just use the source material", like do these (as Aegon II would say) imbeciles not realize this story isn't something that's just set in stone.

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

idk bout anyone else and i feel like i see way more daemon lovers than haters, but ive just never liked the guy lol. from the beginning his scenes with rhaenyra made me so uncomfortable and milly alcock has such a baby face that i genuinely had to check how old she was while watching. watching anything in the got universe means u have to be able to handle a lot, and we all know targ incest to be incredibly common atp, but combining the incest along with pedo/grooming aspect of it all is too much for me to look past and enjoy their relationship. nevermind how much it took for them to get to this point. while he has a lot of cool battle moments and his fights r sick, on top of everything else ive just found his ego, entitlement, and impulsivity grating - his actors great tho 🙂‍↕️ and i like how he speaks valyrian lol

Nate Drew

This is the best season by a mile.

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

@anya ive actually always liked gwayne, from his first interaction with alicent 🥹 and genuinely what was he thinking (he wasnt) like dude ur done for 😭 ormund being gone is indeed a brightspot tho 😮‍💨

Anya

Exactly! You nailed it kami and that's why I understood what Jack meant last episode. I know it was kinda a joke but I'm with Rhys Ifans "both sides are genocidal crazy war criminals" 😂

Seth Aasland

Helaena didn’t deserve any of this. She was the only person I was rooting for (despite having known her fate for years 😭)

alexis ♡︎

8:20 @carter if there was (there isn’t, ik) any one person to blame for this succession crisis it is ABSOLUTELY viserys. ive said this before and ill say it again.. good dude, abysmalllll king

alexis ♡︎

i just can’t agree with the sentiment that rhaenyra’s ‘tyranny’ is too late. from a writing and flow perspective, sure, because it is threatened and not fulfilled too many times imo. but in-universe, i can’t fathom how rhaenyra turning cruel now after exhausting all of her options is worse than her turning cruel after luke..

TheSauceGuy

Book Rhaenyra is very different from show Rhaenyra. I wouldn't say there are book hindsight merchants in this case because the characters are simply too different.

Anya

My comment was deleted 🫩 I stand on what I said that Ulf didn't deserve to be treated like shit. If you actually think about it he lashed out because of it. I can say that and also say fuck him for killing innocents. Two are separate and two things can be true at once.

Anya

Hmm I can definitely see where they could've combined some things because it did seem to drag at times.

Anya

"Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will" 🙂‍↕️🖤

TheSauceGuy

I don't blame you guys for confusing him with a Stark, but the white-bearded guy who gets his arm cut off is Roderick Dustin. Also, the Greybeards aren't just old men from the Starks.

TheSauceGuy

Why do you guys hate Mysaria? She has admirable goals, and Rhaenyra would likely be dead without her.

Zach Dragon

I personally don't get why people want Rhaenyra to be this moral saint, I think the beauty of this story (and book fans will understand) is that there really isn't a truly better side, they all do terrible things for the sake of power, even if they believe it's their destiny, as Cannon said they all have problems which is true and a big part of the story. George is a big fan of morally grey characters, and they tend to make books and shows more compelling and entertaining. To McKay's point I will say I don't think the show has done the best job at showing all of this, which has been a big critique of mine, with how the show was handling Rhaenyra and Alicent characters since season 2. EDIT: Btw i'm personally team black, so I have no problem with people riding for their sides, BUT I just hate this idea that Rhaenyra can do no wrong, this isn't a fairy tale.

TheSauceGuy

Rhaenyra is not the first Targaryen to claim the title of The Prince That Was Promised. I can understand you guys being upset with many of her actions, but if I'm not mistaken, she has no way of knowing if it will happen in her lifetime or not.

Nate Drew

McKay saying Rhaenyra "was" a cool character makes me chuckle. I think her falling into darkness makes her even more cool. Like Anakin Skywalker turning into Vader the aura was just increased. Only rooting for or Liking people with honor is such a lame way to watch things imo.

TheSauceGuy

They really do as much as possible to make Ulf shameless, but I'm honestly all for it lol. I was actually joking with my friend that he might just attack both sides, even though that doesn't really happen in the book. He's tired of being used as a tool and looked down upon. He's still not admirable, but I love his character and his "fuck you too" moment lol.

TheSauceGuy

Daemon had terms of peace and declined them. Instead, Daemon wanted to simply kill a bunch of Hightowers. Ulf was obviously a wild card that both sides failed to appease, but he'd probably still be unconscious and drunk if Daemon had accepted the peace deal.

TheSauceGuy

Oh you guys will just love next season heheheha

Judaska Selena Shaw

Everything Rhaenyra has done thus far is justified. She was trying to be peaceful and merciful despite the deaths of her children by the Greens, despite them usurping her throne, literally everything!!!!! Now she’s finally doing something and people are complaining. Damn if you do, damn if you don’t!!!! Y’all were never Team Rhaenyra from the get go!!

Judaska Selena Shaw

Aegon is a rapist but I’ve never heard anyone called him cruel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. The misogyny is obvious

DonDuh103

For sure more lovers for Daemon I did say there was hella glazers here for him. I just saw some comments saying I’m tired of daemon on so on. You also expressing you weren’t a Deamon fan. And I agree the pedo/incest stuff is bad I hate when writers make that as a character you’re trying to make people like. But he’s a pretty smart character when it comes to battle and if he knew how to treat Rhaenyra as the Queen better she actually take his advice more cause a lot of this extra civilian death could have been avoided if Team black went more on the attack sooner as Deamon wanted. Like even as audience member, we all know it was gonna come down to a terrible war the longer it gets drawn out that leads to huge mistakes with casualties. Also I haven’t read the books so I don’t know what else is to come but I assume more of it will be how that last episode went.

Nate Drew

Cannon saying "Season 4 the ratings will plummet" might be the hottest take yet lol. The events of season 4 is literally what everyone has been wanting from this show. This story was never meant to be all sunshine and rainbows. You guys gotta learn to enjoy the chaos and stop complaining. Weird how ya'll hold different standards depending on the show, like anyone in HOTD that isn't honorable you just write off as being unlikable, but then in GoT some of your favorite characters like The Hound, Jamie Lannister, Bronn, Tywin Lannister or Davos are just as bad... Not sure what changed but it's like you guys turned into a bunch of Marshmallows! <--- (at least for this show)

DonDuh103

I agree he shouldn’t have been treated like dirt, but he lashed out on civilians😭😭 like try to kill Deamon don’t just piss him off and now he’s coming to kill you🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Skyz

The Hightowers falsely swore fealty in episode 3 and deceived them with Daeron, their offer was to let a challenger to the throne rule over one of the other kingdoms. No one in their right mind would accept those peace terms.

Nate Drew

The complainers need to quit the show and go back to Teletubbies or something.

Nate Drew

Nah will just be more complaining like some Marshmallows XD

Judaska Selena Shaw

Right. When a man does it, no one says anything. Men are cheered for the most atrocious crimes. The Greens are single handedly responsible for all Rhaenyra has suffered and even then she was being merciful and kind. But now when she has had enough, and hasn’t done half of what any of the men has done on the show “she’s evil, she’s wicked”. I don’t even know how she was even holding on to her sanity for so long.

jblakk

Don, they did more than just the nuke. Look up US relationship with Unit 731. The Biscari Massacre is another. Your reaction kinda proves my point lol

TheSauceGuy

Daeron is a child and not a willing challenger. Ormund has essentially forced him into this position, similarly to Aegon, except that Daeron is a better and more qualified person than either of his brothers. Daeron also makes it clear he doesn't really want to be king. Corlys also offered more fair terms, which were the ones I was speaking of. Either way, Daemon chose to fight when he didn't need to.

Nate Drew

i would argue that Otto is more to blame seeing how he's the main reason Aegon II was named king to begin with. Whether Viserys mentioned the name Aegon to Alicent in his final breaths or not Otto would have still gotten Aegon II on the throne.

Skyz

Except Ormund falsely proclaimed fealty and then seized Tumbleton while scheming in Kings Landing, at the very least he would need to be handed over as a prisoner or executed which there is no way that's happening when it's his own army in Tumbleton. They are also trying to make this arrangement without Ormunds knowledge, it was a desperate attempt to save their lives that was unlikely to ever work.

TheSauceGuy

Aegon didn't really flop as a ruler, as he essentially had no say in anything, with his council acting without him. Because of how ignored he felt, he got drunk and nearly died in battle because his own brother tried to kill him. His grandfather and mother propped him up to be king against his wishes, and then ignored him when he finally became king. He's obviously not absolved of responsibility, but most of his real failings were from when he was a child (not studying, lack of sexual restraint, etc).

Zess

Just feedback from where Jack and McKay are

Zess

Orphanmaker is a horrible name for a badass sword lol just evil

xSaorix

I don’t hate the series. I don’t like how the fandom acts, it feels like a bit much. I don’t even understand the whole team green or black stuff, isn’t it obvious that the dance of dragons is meant to be a story of badly controlled political war destroying the house of dragon? But I just don’t like how people react to it it’s so bizarre. I don’t have anything against the series.

Animeke

Helaena was too pure for this world. RIP

Kim 555

the episode was rated 9.1 Cannon, idk maybe the people are enjoying destruction and chaos 😭

Frosty

i really love GOT but im pretty convinced that its first half is looked at with rose tinted glasses compared to shows like this or other newer shows because the social media surge and everything that came with it, didnt happen till later on

Magdalene Yeboah

I feel like Rhaenyra has always had that look on her face, that matter of fact look with limited empathy has been on her face since season 1.... add that to the stress and corruption of power, her behavior does not surprise me at all

alexis ♡︎

while i do agree intention wise, i think otto kinda was just able to seize the moment bc of viserys’s poor decision making. yes he sent alicent (disgusting but opportunistic) but viserys chose her all on his own when laena was by all accounts the better option. and my blame for viserys has nothing to do with his final moments, alicent knew damn well 😭 i think he could’ve and should’ve done a lot more if he wanted rhaenyra’s ascension to be successful

Frosty

Hope you guys look back on this differently or on a rewatch maybe. I know seeing children die will never be easy. Unfortunately this is the world you signed up to watch, theyre not excited to have to harm children but what choice are they left when their enemy hides behind them. Daemon literally commanded his dragon to burn the kids at the gate but you are instant 180 cause the greybeard killed the kid that (harmlessly) attacked him. Daemon also has been in Rhaynera's ear for 2 seasons trying to get her to do these things you are so appalled by. She took far more shit than anyone else in this show would have before starting to use her power in this way. Also if you think your favorite characters from GOT wouldnt have done any of this, ESPECIALLY what Rhaynera did in this episode, you are extremely naive and mistaken. What do you think Robb Stark wouldve had to do had he actually won the war in GOT lol. (reminder that he got his men and his loved ones killed because he couldnt keep it in his pants) I think Ned Stark is maybe 1 of 1 as far as a character that wouldve continued to do only morally good and honorable things.

JMP

I agree to an extent, she is mentioned much more than twice but that’s irrelevant cause I’d say it’s arguable that all the characters are more interesting in the show compared to the book just due to the nature of it being first person vs third person accounting. It’s just the execution of events where I personally like the book more as I wouldn’t say one death is more believable than the other I think both are equally believable motivations. What I would say that slightly annoys me (just a ‘what if’ scenario) is that I don’t think both motivations contradict each other, so I really think Condal could have combined his vision of the character with the baseline motivation and characterisation from the book to create a more layered character and better executed event than what he had in either the book or show.

Jaeboleann

Damn that would’ve been way better than some butterflies lol

Goldyz

Jack indistinctly whispering the whole time is killing me

Daveeed

Ormund put those kids in the frontline, this disgusting tactic is the blame for every single kid getting killed. Daemon tried to save them but cannot hesitant too much during battle he has to move on. Roddy walked by the kid but turned on him because he got in his way. I was flabbergasted by your misguided reactions.

Lemonsqueeze

You arent getting it. Nonone is complaining shes too cruel or too merciful. We are saying that she should pick a lane and stay in it. "All that she had suffered and even then she was merciful".. see thats the issue. She shouldnt have been merciful then.

Lemonsqueeze

Thats a cap and you know it. Most people here, like me, are just watching the show with Gek like a normal human being

Avital Lockhart

But what about her dream riding on Dreamfyre and calling dracary? it didn't come true..

Goldyz

Woah this comment section is wild

Goldyz

It did come true, it turned out to be Aegon instead

SCAG

Robert Baratheon stole the throne too and i love that man as well lol But Viserys was just dumb and the root problem, he himself was proof that the realm did not want a woman to sit the throne; he should’ve always expected this outcome. Terrible foresight tbh

Arctic_stark

I get what you’re saying but I disagree. It was only 10-15 years ago. It’s not like people couldn’t recognize quality shows then, we had already seen HBO come out with Sopranos and The Wire. GOT seasons 1-4 are in that league and it was pretty obvious. Just look at the difference in Emmys between the two shows.

Arctic_stark

Daemon would have to be a madman to accept any terms from the Hightowers after they lied and swore false oaths to him just a few weeks ago. This is not even getting into the politics of announcing Daeron Lord Paramount of the South or whatever and how the Tyrells and rest of the Reach will react to that.

Arctic_stark

Because she is utterly incompetent? Her job isn’t to offer moral advice to Rhaenyra. She is the Master of Whisperers. She’s done absolutely nothing about finding the assassins and rebels in the city. She’s done nothing about finding the gold. Or finding Aegon. She doesn’t even seem bothered by any of this. The one thing she did find out, Helaena being pregnant, she kept hidden. The only thing she does want to do is continuously mock Daemon, the only competent member of Rhaenyra’s council.

Arctic_stark

I am still surprised they haven’t named Black Aly. She’s in so many scenes and also killed Cole. I imagine casual fans think she’s just some random woman from the river lands. Also almost every reactor out there thinks Roddy is a Stark. They haven’t mentioned his House even once.

Frosty

Idk about the Sopranos but the Wire wasn’t recognized as one of the greats till years later. Season 1 GOT was 2011… Since the social media surge happened, EVERYONE is a self proclaimed film/tv critic and as of late the amount of intentional ragebait narratives or people trying their hardest to stick out as different has gone off the rails. Not saying there was no way people were able to differentiate good from bad in the past, but these days even the best of the best are picked apart at an insane rate regardless of how baseless the claims are. The biggest indicator is that most people can’t even agree what is ‘bad’ about these shows, and so I’ve seen so many people that have heard from someone else or convinced themselves of a show being bad (usually to make themselves feel like a real film snob that’s above the average watcher) so they attribute the ‘bad’ to things that don’t make any sense or are just completely void of any media literacy. It’s just been a snowballing and really annoying trend that has ONLY been a negative for that people that actually care or for the people that just like to enjoy quality television without people baselessly telling them it’s comparable to The CW slop

Mohammad Conte

Daemon needs to have a rematch against that Roxton dude

ayesha khan

exactly, it baffles me how so many team black fans are turning cloaks and rooting for Aegon just because rhaenyra is finally standing up and doing things, she hasnt even done anything particularly wrong except maybe being rough with haelena but haelena was geniunely testing her patience, she calls rhaenyra ugly and says viserys would hate her, but she says NOTHING abt her two brothers and otto who are disgusting and evil men, Aegon has done SO much worse but because he is a man he can be a complex character while rhaenyra js is evil, i truly dont get how ppl dont realise that rhaenyra no longer wants to be seen as a weak woman, but finally a queen.

Judaska Selena Shaw

Well said!!!!! I love this side of her. She has been too kind and patient for too long, and what has that costs her? Three children, her crown being usurped, dragons, deaths of loyal family members and men etc … Now when she’s finally doing something, she’s evil and wicked. Aegon rapes and assaults multiple women, use his children to fight in the ring etc, and now he’s a better ruler according to these people 🤷🏽‍♀️

TheSauceGuy

Daemon is a madman and "they" as in Ormund. They have King's Landing with little bloodshed because of Alicent.

TheSauceGuy

Okay, that's actually valid lol. I honestly forgot her position because the show has had her do nothing regards to it.

Tyler

Was only a matter of time before Rhaenyra snapped and decided she’s now the messiah, Ulf is gonna receive a lot of hate but he’s such a good character imo, the worst thing a character can be is boring and he is far from that

mk

yeah that is crazy

mk

How can green vs black still be a discussion after this season? The story is a tragic conflict, no sides to be taken here. Except for Gwayne and Daeron, these guys are peak.

Deji Jan

daemon has that realization at the end, that he caused all this suffering, but also, if he listened to gwayne and corlys maybe no one would’ve died so

Dreamfyre

Carter was spot on when he said "this is a tragedy." That's exactly what this story is. It shows the absurdity of violence when everyone wipes each other out (no spoilers since S1E1 already warned us what this story was about). If you think this story has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Deji Jan

i think he meant if daemon died right there

Alan

Y’all forgot what show this was

Alan

But if you look at the tapistry it looks like both her falling out of the window and vaegar flying over kings landing

Trae Young Supremacist

my exact same thoughts. if i was her i would have killed every green and the church ppl a long time ago.

Kadence

You targaryen glazers are so strange to me. Just missing the whole point entirely

Trae Young Supremacist

this show is lowkey ass, and the writing for rhaenyra is terrible. she's nothing like she is in the books. the person making the show literally said he thinks alicent would be best suited for the throne, and ideas like that are part of why george martin has been so critical of the adaptation and distanced himself from the show. you can see it in the writing too. they keep doing rhaenyra dirty to make the greens seem more sympathetic, when they're just as delusional as everyone else and have no real claim or moral justification. rhaenyra should have been aggressive, mean, and politically smart way before this episode, before she became vengeful and dark. this show feels like a humiliation ritual for her character, also her outfit could have looked way better.

Sam M

Yes and their audio is bad in general. Always extreme contrasts of whispering or screaming. You either miss half of their conversations or the show or you get your ear drums blown out.

Sam M

No. Season 1 was great and it hasn't come close to that high since.

Caroline

My thing is if she did this in the first place people would say it happened to fast and now people are saying she did everything too late. She can never win either way. People wanted to see the progression of how Dany ended up "evil" in the end but now the same people are mad that they showed how that could happen to a person like Rhaenyra. I still dont see her as evil. She is reacting to what has happened to her. Its just that she is not a man. Its always the same thing with these shows. She is not even that bad at this point! She has just lost her patience with everyone and who could blame her honestly. She lost everything and this is the only thing she has at this point. Her speech was something to say the least but we alle know how the targaryens are. Again, it stil hasn't ruined her character, not for me anyways. I love that Damon is forever Rhaenyra's number 1 supporter! I wish she had stuck to just him and not that other lady! I love Helaena but their father only loved one child and he would not hate her for any of this. He would never have had this happen in the first place if he knew how Alicent and her family would have treated Rhaenyra. Helaena dying was so sad tho! Her and Daeron deserve so much better! Aegon screaming: IM ALIVE! was really funny but im still Team Black! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kurofi

Agree

No Tap

Rhaenyra has never been politically smart so if anything that would be the biggest source material change.

Mitch

Bruh I’m 10 minutes in and I didn’t even realize he was talking I thought it was the show echoing 😭😭😭

S Moonchild⁷

Gwayne and Daeron's relationship is the best thing this season. Game of Thrones level suffering is so back... poor Helaena. Idk who to root for tbh

aqualuvrgirl

drop the next movie poll and let fast n furious finally be free we need this real bad

Leon

"You gotta learn to enjoy the chaos and stop complaining" is such a stupid sentiment. You are absolutely allowed to criticize the mid writing of the show

keyla

i fear the writing was ah cus Rhenyra should've been cruel after the deaths of her son.

Amna

To be fair, i don't even think she becomes "cruel" in the books

Dreamfyre

Damn, talk about turncoats! Everyone was turning on Jack for talking trash about Rhaenyra, and then 30 minutes later everyone on the couch turned on her!! 😂
