Some NON-SPOILER info on his character: - His ressureccion is named after a praying mantis in spanish, which also is a play on the famous spanish nun named "Santa Teresa" from the 16th century. Release word being "pray" should be self-explanatory. A nun prays and a praying mantis looks like it's praying. - His misogyny comes from praying mantis nature of gender dominance, cuz in the real world the females are way stronger than the males. They are larger, heavier and they even do the act of sexual cannibalism after they are done mating with the males. - His narrative of being the strongest Espada, wanting power and wanting strength but being in the middle, aka no.5, is just simply Kubo's way of playing with numbers, while adding another layer of depth to his character thru Nnoitra's anger.

With longer running shows like the big three i guess it's easier to spam the same songs cause they hadn't taken any seasonal breaks compared to AOT and cyberpunk which was only 10 episodes. They were airing every week so using the same osts saved time, but I personally attribute to some osts to certain moments like "mother sea" to the going merry or "overtaken" to saving nami and i know some people attribute treachery to certain characters in bleach. I do see what you guys are saying though, luckily with current airing one piece because it's seasonal now that's changed and obviously they had time to make new stuff for tybw :)

I remember that kubo stetched a praying mantis at the end of the chapters with nnoitora And his poem and its image I didnt know that the name for his ressurection had such lore, i just assumed that it was to show that he lacked a feminine side, but it also has a tie in with the praying mantis. Great batch! Next batch is awesome too. You guys gotta remember as well that Uryu had the hax reishi glove against Mayuri in Soul Society, and Ichigo had the hollow mask reveal against Byakuya. They both would have lost against Mayuri and Byakuya without them lol. The captains are definitely stronger than you think. Ichigo vs Kenpachi was a draw, Ichigo kinda got lucky. Without the outta nowhere Zangetsu upscale, he was cooked.

Well this is me researching the character, when i read bleach for the first times i also didnt understand. Theres a lot of good youtubers who go into entensive detail about the lore and characters in the show I learn a lot with them and also try to broaden my understanding by myself. Because bleach is very japonese oriented theres a lot that the author puts in the show that "outsiders" wont get at first, and thats normal, myself included. Every single name of shikai, bankai and ressurection have a meaning and helps us understand the character even more With the hollows theres also their hollow hole, some represent animals, etc. But what part exactly made you confused? Feel free to ask questions, im not the owner of the truth Being in a community is really good cause we can learn different perspectives about the same topic

You have the first layer that every person should understand for the story And then the subtext, the hidden part that its not said with words necessarily but a part of the world. For example someone who partakes in a tradition where yin and yang in a part of will look at nnoitoras hole and his behavior and make a connection to it. Im not a part of said tradition, but i know that the hollow's hole is empty and i do not think Kubo puts it in different places in the espada just because its cool There must be a reason why different people have theirs in different places So i google what does this part of the human body represent. Some are straight forward like grimmjow in the belly, others not

@Cannon this is something you can do with most characters, or at least the important ones, but its fairly deep in the bleach iceberg, it’s not something you’re expected to catch on your first watch. Also it’s easier to see these things in the manga, cause you have the characters’ poems helping you out, as well as kubo’s panels pointing you in the right direction

First two canon arcs and last two canon arcs in OG bleach are the only arcs I really f with. Also the mini arc that start right after this. The other stuff has great moments, like this past episode, but I would stop short of recommending anyone read/watch the arc it without understanding that they’re in for some tough pacing.

To be fair I was like 15 or 16 when these were coming out and had no idea just how iconic Treachery would become. Also (I'm gonna say something absolutely sacrilegious) at the time I did not care for Kenny's character and so didn't care much when he was on screen so as a dumb teen it didn't hit me the way it should have. I have since become wise with age 😇 but there are other moments when the song is used that impacted me more on first watch

Since y'all have hit episode 200 I wanna ask if you will watch the upcoming filler arc, please!! Not even the full arc, just episodes 230-255. It's literally so good and gives some good insight into the zanpakuto as a concept and has some interesting fights. It's such a good story but totally get if you are not willing to watch. i think you missed on a few points. for one, the left side of the brain is the center that controls logic and reason, but its more colloquially called the “male” side if anything. these claims don’t really have any validity to them as they’re just antiquated ideas. also i think reducing nnoitra’s personality to simply being misogynistic is off the mark (there’s literally another female espada and based off of all the numbers we’ve seen up until now, she must be ranked higher). i think nnoitra more so rejects nel’s idea of pacifism and who and who doesn’t needs to be killed. he really just feels like his ego was bruised and he has a severe inferiority complex. but yeah he’s a pos but a great villain in my eyes

The answer is simple, like all battle sin Soul society arc, Ichigo won cause the plot needed him to. He fought Ikakku, and Kenpachi and Byakuya, 3 guys he shouldn't be able to beat. But he did cause, they all "gave up" at the end or "let him win" or "didn't take the battle seriously". Santa Teresa was a nun, mystic, writer, and religious reformer who is still deeply loved in 🇪🇦 . She was all about meditation and knowing tour inner self to reach God. So on the Ishida vs Mayuri and Kenny vs Ichigo fights: Mayuri's strength is his intelligence, his weaknesses are his arrogance, his tendency to play with his prey to conduct "research", and his general lack of "stereotypical" power. Against Uryu, he underestimated Uryu's resolve, and from his research he already thought he knew everything about Quincy abilities. He didn't have prep time for Letzt Stil, and therefore lost due to being outclassed in pure power. Had he seen it before, Mayuri would've won. Kenny clearly loves battle. It should be clear by this point (no spoilers), that not only is he consciously suppressing his power (eye patch, bells), but he also subconsciously suppresses it so he can prolong fights. Against Ichigo, he didn't release everything he had until Zangetsu released Ichigo's potential, at which point it was a draw. Had Zaraki fought at full strength from the beginning, he would've won.

He chose to take on the name Kenpachi (the title given to a singular Soul Reaper Captain at a time who posses the highest battle capabilities) and thus, before even becoming a Soul Reaper became known as Kenpachi from Zaraki, and eventually Zaraki Kenpachi (since in Japanese they say the last name first). I totally agree with this, Naruto really had a masterclass in sad music, it is by far the anime I've teared up the most during and the music had a big part in that. the Bleach soundtrack in OG and TYBW has been fantastic.

It honestly just comes down to preference. I used to like Naruto’s best, then Bleach’s, but I definitely like One Piece’s soundtrack the best now. The pure, classical, orchestral tracks fit the show perfectly. But I definitely understand people who like the other two more.

I think some themes work well replayed, and for a show like any big 3 show, it makes sense for there to be a lot of repeats. Something like Aot is seasonal, which allows for new themes to be made for each new season. Whereas, the big 3 have to work with what they have until they make a new one. Granted, replaying the wrong one can wear off it's affect. Certain moments having a unique theme that only plays once is peak tho.

That is why the captain of squad 11 have usually be given the position by killing the previous captain who is the Kenpachi.
