Ayoodude

I’ve said it before but man re watching with yall really brings back a lot of memories of when these episodes first came out. The show was a phenomenon.

Clay

I’m going through a sort of grieving process and this episode really spoke to me. Loss of what was, having hope for something new after losing something, and making room for it to come. Great episode!

Shiki

Bellaa

Love this season and excited to watch you guys react to everything 😊

Jack's World

Carl done been through the absolute RINGER the last year oh my lord 😭. Thinking he lost Rick, then experiencing the end of the world & witnessing its horrors as they fled, Shane & Rick’s animosity & the camp outside Atlanta falling, the CDC situation as a whole, getting shot & losing Sophia & then LOSING her & seeing her shot, the whole Dale situation & aftermath followed almost immediately by having to try and comprehend Rick killing Shane & having to shoot Walker Shane too. All that within the first 2.5-3 months of all of this! Then they were stuck on the road for Lori’s pregnancy, can only imagine how scary that was & when they finally get to the prison, he watches Hershel lose his leg, tries to help with supplies & then loses Lori after barely even getting to the prison. The entire Lori situation & Judith was immensely traumatizing too & brought his faith into question, similar to when Sophia was found. The entire Prison situation only traumatized him more watching Rick lose it & then make multiple mistakes that cost other people their lives like Merle, Andrea & the whole skirmish we just had! Carl felt obligated to take out another kid in cold blood to do what he felt his father has failed to do on more than one occasion. That left him to get educated by Rick & Hershel (between the first skirmish & where we pick things up 4 days ago before the sickness) on keeping his morality, only to see his dad try yet again to be moral with the Governor when he had a clear shot. And the latest was that he was forced to watch the prison fall & is under the assumption Judith was ripped apart & eaten alive. Now he has almost been taken out by walkers & had to shoot walker Rick! All of this in less than 18 MONTHS!!! Idk how a child would NOT be royally traumatized by all of that 😭

Jack's World

Weird that this version of this episode didn’t show the scene of Carl wetting a towel & putting it on Rick’s forehead mentioning Lori having done that when he was sick

bonnie

just came back from taking my cat to the vet, this is the perfect treat :)

cuesegue .

Anyone else remember the Carl Poppa video?! Hahaha!

Mack

Carl getting bigger now

Jessica

I’ve been so excited for the separated storylines the next half of the season is so good

jblakk

Reminder: From here on out WD took breaks halfway through seasons. So episode 8s will feel like finales and episode 9s will feel like intros. Also that final "its for you" line has a sweet double meaning.

All might

Bloodhounds is less gruesome than twd. So can you please forgive the show and watch s2 now😭

All might

Did they really have to show Hershel's zombie head like that?? And for so long?? he survived leg amputation and a respiratory illness at his age I thought he was indestructible atp 😔 my goattt

Dorsia's Media Critique

I bet that tub of chocolate pudding was so good if you were stuck in the apocalypse

All might

I feel like the walkers on a leash thing makes no sense at all like the second she lets go of the rope they can see her again?

All might

21:30 In a different cut of the show, Carl first tries to put a washcloth on Rick's head and says that Lori used to do that for him when he was sick. Then after a few seconds he says no and starts to yell wake up . I feel like that cut better shows the mixed feelings he's feeling towards his Dad

❦

LMFAOO REAL OMG like pls watch bloodhounds

Warsame

”Shane taught me…remember him?”

GBuckets

My favorite era of the walking dead starts now

Sam M

All I could think about during that scene

nourah

I will forever mourn the prison era It was one of the best eras for me, I feel nostalgic already

bailey harris

The 2nd season of Bloodhounds is not bad... If you can continue this, we deserve some Bloodhounds ;)

Tnrtle

dur dur dur dee dur

Tnrtle

23:15 ah yes, a normal situation, talking my two pet walkers down the street while my father's in a coma on a random couch

Yaka

I just wanna say without spoiling, after this whole separation arc Rick and the crew WAS NEVER the same again!

bailey harris

this is what I am saying. Season 2 is SOOO good.

a_daichi

all day so hopefully I feel better tomorrow 🫩 in the meantime, I’ll be indulging in a little meal and the reaction now!!

Arthur Fields

"It's for you". The way Rick was laughing at the end made me wonder if Michonne showed up at the door with the empty can of pudding.

Carl Poppa

Sav

I just commented this🤣🤣

yellow

this episode is so dear to me, i love carl so much

jrnoodles

Thank you! I love Michonne, she's so cool

a_daichi

I personally really really love this episode! the tension with rick and carl, traveling and looting trying to survive, carl realizing that he does need his dad, the backstory with michonne and what happened then hope and happiness with michonne finding the 2 of them. ugh LOVE

a_daichi

it’s sooo good. I think it’s another reason as to why I freaking love this episode. the start of the shift

a_daichi

huh I don’t remember that at all

Jack's World

Def search it up on YouTube! There are SOOOO many deleted scenes! There’s another with Carl & Beth that discuss the trauma of losing Lori & having to shoot Shane & her & whether or not they’ve made it to heaven etc.

Alli

are we really talking about almost not continuing the show bc of a main character death in a zombie apocalypse show? I swear to god if they just cancel another major show im going to lose it. lol nut up boys, this is just the start.

Zess

It wasnt the letting go, it was her starting to attack them. The idea is supposed to be that being near them, her smell is masked by them. Granted, I agree the logic behind it isn't the most convincing, considering swarms of zombies will go after a single person all the time, which should be even more zombie stank around lol but it was the sudden sword swinging and noise making that had them start attacking this instance.

Benjamin Sanders

The fact that TWD was omitted in NY times 100 best shows of the 21st century is a crime 🤯

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

im so glad michonne went back to hershel, i remember being so irritated the first time when i thought no one might b able to 😭 cuz otherwise it feels like their souls cant rest easy :(

2026-10-10 13:00 walker gettin his shoe and not him is absolutely a dub 😭 i think the message is nice and showcases some of what u need to be able to survive in their world - he could be freaked out about his near death experience and irritated or upset that he lost his shoe, but dudes just glad he got out and lives to see another day with a giant can of pudding still left to enjoy...if u dont have small victories what do u have? if i came across that house and saw that message after i think id enjoy it then too - its a nice heads about the walker, and theres some hope and humor in it, all of which could help carry someone through another day. some ppl would probably think thats thinkin to deep into it, but not to meee

love these character moments! the fact that carl was ready to just let his dad kill him is so sad :(( and love how they did michonnes nightmare too, the clothes change and tone switches were so smooth, and the uncanny aspect of things like her katana casually seeping into her dream still was pretty neat! her screams also broke my heart 😭

Benjamin Sanders

Michonne’s narrative reminds me of when Martinez told the governor he couldn’t do it again—have a family

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

thats a funny thought lol - i think it was just mirroring the same relieved laugh of disbelief michonne had when she looked in the window cuz she didnt actually pick up the can, but if she did i could totally picture her holding it up with a smile haha

Luke Fox

Calm down bro they aren't being serious lmao

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

i dont think theres actually any talk of canceling the show, just seems like theyre conveying how it brought up similar feelings - but theyve been talkin bout how they thought hershel in particular was gonna drop dead at any moment for awhile now lol, so i dont think theyre at all surprised about it happening, just the way that it did was obviously shocking and gruesome

MaraReaper

“This feels like a new season” It sorta is! Last episode was the mid-season finale. There was a few months break between the last episode and this one when they first aired

All might

Yeahhh I understand how she was noticed in that scene in particular, I’m just talking in general

Anya

Michonne was surviving but she wasn't living. I liked that scene with the walker who resembled her because she saw herself becoming one of the dead if she continued to shut herself off from humanity. She experienced the joy and love of being a part of a community and that's hard to give up. I'm happy she chose to live and that ending when she felt relief and joy at finding Rick and Coral was the best thing.

Stairguy

👀 I have been wanting to post that video on their Discord since they started watching the show

Stairguy

Are they not going to?……

Anya

Yeah didn't like how harsh and reckless Carl was this ep. I don't excuse it but I understand it. He's still a kid who's been through so much trauma. He believes he needs to immediately take out anyone or anything that poses a threat to himself or anyone he cares about. He's hurting himself emotionally and it's affecting his humanity. Loved that he realized he still needed his dad and Rick validating him was what he needed to hear. That "it's for you" was the perfect ending!

Anya

Nope that's not thinking too deep into it I agree wholeheartedly with all of this! That's our Commander Coral!

Anya

ellie! sighh need McKay to get back on tlou!

Anya

lmao fr I was like I got some ktraumas for you 👀

Anya

seriously lmaoo they're missing out

Anya

Same 🥹

All might

They said they weren’t because s1 traumatized them😭

Anya

Right? Man has been through soo much 😭 Rip Hershel he truly was a goat 😔

Anya

YES PLS I've been begging! Ep6 completely destroyed them 😭

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

the 'its for u' was so sweet 🥹 that and how rick and michonnes reactions mirrored eachother at seeing one another rly warmed my heart ❤️‍🩹

Alexis

Poor Chandler Riggs (Carl) had to eat so much pudding on this day, after so many takes he started to get really grossed out by it lol. Then at meet and greets fans would always bring him TUBS of pudding. This episode made chocolate pudding haunt him for years to come 😭😭. ALSOOOOO pleaseee watch Carl Poppa on YT now that you’ve seen this episode🙂‍↕️

Alexis

Man i just flow

Anya

Want them to do a scary game lol yeah think I only saw you once on stream understandable though because they stream when most of us are working lol

Anya

lmaoo hi bye mama is the perfect example 😂

DonDuh103

Hey doesn’t Mike play Alex Cross?

DonDuh103

Carl should have taken those Carol knife lessons😭😭😭😭

DonDuh103

I think Michonne just realized being alone sucks and the company of the walkers ain’t the same as her new family😭😭

Minco

I find it weird how satisfied people are when Carl is proven wrong. Like every mistake Carl makes is because of teenage Hubris. Where Ricks mistakes are always excused. My complaint isnt the excuses for Rick, because alot of them are valid. But why do people want Carl to be wrong? Like being disillusioned with Ricks abilities is invalid just because Carl, a teenager, is the one saying it. The excuse is alway "well he has more to learn", like that doesnt extend to every person in the whole world.

30:23 'Fredag' is Friday in Norwegian Swedish and Danish! It's not German :)

Arthur Fields

Mostly, I'm wondering why he said it's for you. Is there a meaning behind it? If he had simply laughed, I wouldn't question it.

All might

But Judith’s bloody car seat wasn’t too far for you 😔

Kat

A shortcut to what? Mushrooms! :DIt's called "Woodland Mushrooms", it's one of their botanical lego sets

Gigi

this is frying me

Gigi

I need Michonne to teach Carl how to use a sword. He's a little too trigger happy lmfao

Gigi

This is my first time watching TWD and I have a prediction: (It could be a shot in the dark, but just in case I'm right, I'm putting a spoiler warning) I think Rick's death is just around the corner. He's going to die by the end of this season or maybe next. Carl saying he can survive without his father feels like ironic foreshadowing. Rick has been wanting to take a backseat in decision making all season, his authority over the group is what makes him important in the first place. He's weak and on the run and unless they give him the 'ol plot armor special, he's cooked.

Tucker Steinbrunner

you guys are gonna really like the 2nd half of this season

Mary

Watching Carl eating pudding on the roof was so great, honestly. He finally experienced the feeling of being a kid in the middle of the disaster that’s happening.

Mary

I really liked watching the evolution of Carl’s behavior from the beginning until now, specifically in this episode. In a way, he’s always been relatively shielded from the dangers of walkers from Rick, or even Shane, but I feel like, especially in this episode, he’s really carrying everything he’s learned, even from Shane, which he even mentioned, skills which he’s utilizing for his & Rick’s survival.

Mary

YES, that was such a difficult episode to watch, honestly 😢. It’s like, everything they’ve worked for until now, to finally be safe, it all disappeared within minutes.

Mary

YES, like it’s definitely crucial to realize that he’s still a kid who didn’t have a childhood, & who’s watched basically everyone he ever cared for, dead or hurt. I LOVED that scene near the end, when he thought that Rick was turning, & all of his recklessness until that point finally crumbled once he realized that he DID need his father, that he couldn’t do this without Rick. This episode was such a defining episode for Carl, overall, & it was done really well, IMO.

Jack

What’s the double meaning

jblakk

In one sense, Rick is joking saying someones at the door looking for Carl. Thats the surface level meaning, an ironic/sarcastic joke. But the hidden meaning is Michonne is literally for Carl. Juxtaposed with everything Michonne dealt with and everything Carl is dealing with, they need each other. Carl needs a motherly figure, a friend, someone who brings that youthfulness back out of him. And Michonne needs someone to take care of and love. Rick recognizes this and the fact she showed up right after his speech to Carl is why he laughs at the door. "its for you. This miracle coincidence moment is for you Carl." is what the script is getting at.

a_daichi

starving so about to watch the 1x1 reaction for some nostalgia

kiria

this is one of my personal fav episodes- and I think this half of season 4 has some of the best character driven episode of the entire show. the pain of the mid-season finale is real but i LOVE this arc !!
