What’s with the double upload of MHA

Jokarun

Denki being a wingman here. "Oh hey incidentally Sokka just so happens to be the son of the chief of the southern water tribe, you might even call him a prince yue, wink wink" I know its to give him the face needed to take command but still it looked like wingmanning

Edits from Sparky said -> from what Sparky into hundred icy spears -> into a hundred person needing to save. -> needing to be saved. terrible other -> others ask a favor, or two, Denki Kaminari.” -> Kaminari? owe the Spirits favors.” -> favors? wasn’t he. -> he? who knows.” -> knows? I will like to -> I would like

Oof. This was a good chapter, but it and the last couple have reminded me of how irritating Embers!Katara could be. I know why, doesn't solve the actual annoyance. Tftc! Edit: Canon had her issues too, but there's a reason her portrayal in Embers caused some serious arguments, IIRC.

Yeah, mind defense is going to help with the post war trauma for Mina. Not negate entirely though. It's also neat to see how she doesn't freeze at all either. Also, Aizawa and others are definitely going to notice something different with them when they come back from a month trip, especially if they bring out Zuko and or Iroh. Don't know if there'll be physical signs of age, I forgot if they finished growing in height from body talent, but Nezu and Mei could note any physical growth. Also, maybe Dencifer will remember radios before going hunting lol.

So just to recap, Yue lived, Arnook died, Zhao died, although a bunch of Northern Water Tribe nobility are still being mulched, a lot more of the people will live and their bending will be in a much better place, and of course Tui and La lived. How soon before his world portal says 100% on the variance and another world possibility opens up? Still a lot to do here, and I don't expect to go to another world soon, but a bunch of little changes have already snowballed, and Tui and La is a huge shove from the standard AtLA time line

Also something i forgot to ask, are avatar people speaking in English or Japanese, because if its English then Mina is pretty much fluent with the lack of issues with communication.

That's... actually a good question. I'd argue everyone's speaking English, to make it easier, except I made a multilingual joke early on that I rather regret now, so... I'm gonna say ATLA's common tongue is English, and the boost from Management that gave them bending also came with a language package, so Mina thinks she's speaking Japanese but she's speaking English, just Denki, who is speaking Japanese as if he's speaking English, to the point that the translation is fluid enough he hasn't realized that in Avatar he's just speaking English. Essentially, it's not gonna be an issue until they get non-Bound people involved, and then suddenly the language problems are gonna be a thing. Or until they have English Class again, and Mina realizes she's got a mental toggle.

Okay, I'm at the point where I wouldn't mind Katara getting hit by a lightning bolt. I mean looking back it's obvious from the show that she doesn't like others challenging her "authority" (Looking mostly at Toph the wild child here) but she was sweet enough that it kept being glossed over. Yes I know she's had a shit life with her mother sacrificing herself to save her, but I want someone to spank her until the brat is gone.

Something that may be an error as I'm doing a reread of Embers, is that Avatar Kuruk likely lived longer then Kyoshi, and not till 33 like chapter 152 said. In chapter 31 of Embers Xiu said she heard that Kuruk lived longer then Kyoshi's 230 years. Sokka notes in internal dialogue that Koh holds a nine century grudge from a past Avatar. I'm not super familiar with Embers, but in canon Kuruk was the one that tried to slay Koh nine or eight centuries ago ("or eight" because that's what the canon episode Koh said). And with Xiu stating she heard he was older, he probably lived around four hundred years considering the timeline. Again, not super familiar with Embers, the grudge may be referring to a different Avatar and Xiu was mistaken.

... Well... Fuck. You're absolutely right, the issue is that in greater ATLA Canon he died at 33 fighting evil spirits, which itself is... kinda dumb. The issue is that Kyoshi lived several HUNDRED years, while Roku didn't, which is idiotic, but Embers squares that circle, and I did research, got Kuruk lived to be 33 before dying, and ran with it, but, yeah, Zuko claims that Kuruk was around 900 years ago, assuming Kyoshi was the standard, which means I need to figure out which way I want to go with that. Good catch! Edit: Thankfully, it's from 152, which isn't released yet, so I can go change it without affecting a published chapter (Another reason I keep 4 'in the chamber' as it were).
