On this week's episode of the patreon exclusive Pearlmaniac Parasocial Podcast, Mrs. P coins the name of our current age. It is not the Guilded age, or the MAGA restoration. NO! We are living through GUTTER TIME.

Also Mr. P just rambles like a psycho for 15 minutes.

As a current postal worker, I'm not claiming Daylight Savings Time Inventor Guy. Can't be right all the time. Also, I brought norovirus into our home a month ago and you all have my sympathy.

I was also told ginger ale had to be flat. Flat and room temp, and in a pinch coke would work, but ginger ale was better because it didn’t have caffeine

Stuck in Koala Kanyan

I have the '90s Trifecta ginger ale, The Price is Right followed by the Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. The ginger ale bubbles were good for your tum tum troubles in our house

Sunshine Magik

My grandmother and mother always gave us flat Coke or Coke syrup over ice for upset stomachs. Also Catholic witches 😂

Arlo the Average

My ginger ale wasn’t flat for health reasons, it was flat because my mom always bought the 2 liter bottle and we didn’t drink it fast enough

Heythere

14 minutes?! Come onnnnn I need more of my favorite couple

Wiscoliz

My Catholic with grandma gave us flat 7up or flat coke

Wiscoliz

I really ended up in those comments and wanted to scream at people. I cannot understand how anyone can find a way to defend this.

TitanOlaf

Ginger ale (flat or not), and flat coke classic were go-tos And jello

Witch Of The Waste

My grandma also said the ginger ale should be flat. And she was in fact a catholic 😂

Lovexash

lol as a mom of an 8 year old, I’m proud when she yells ‘I WONT BUY WHAT YOURE SELLING AD’

Frank Dee

Surviving progeny of NY catholic gramdma with the flat Canada Dry and saltines

Lovexash

But also, it’s complex watching them learn about the world. How much of the horrible shit do you tell them at a time? Recently, she asked what this ☮️ sign meant. We told her it was the peace sign. She replies ‘I think my grandma might be confused, she said she hates that sign.’ Her grandma is a Christian nationalist maga…

I propose "Guttertime" as one word. The Guttertimes

We also had to have flat ginger ale! My Tennessee grandmother gave us flat ginger ale, warm liquid jello (don’t let it set up), and sourdough bread - but just the soft inside.

pleasedontletmitchoutlivetrump

Catholic family here 🙋‍♀️👋 mom used to get a couple 24 oz bottles, pour out small half glass for herself then close up the bottle and proceed to shake/release air/shake again until it was pretty flat.

TitanOlaf

Usually it was last minute jello cups, but set up in general. And saltines by the box

TitanOlaf

Also I love your username

TitanOlaf

Guttertimes and Guillotines would be a rad band name

ooky_spooky_gloopy_gloppy

We had sprite or ginger ale still fizzy but I learned as an adult that it's supposed to be flat.

Fall_Babe

My wife insists on stirring out the bubbles of ginger ale, which was passed down from her Italian grandmother. Our children now insist on this when they are sick - and I apparently never do it right! 😂

Red Moon

My family was a 7-Up and lightly buttered toast family when it came to being sick

PorcelainGod

My favorite part of being sick when I was a kid was that I was allowed unlimited baths. In a house of 6 with 1 bathroom you didn’t usually get more that 1 a day

Duncan Dixonbutz

Norovirus is a special ring of hell of the "run of the mill" viruses. i remember rolling around in bed, delirious, refusing to go to the ER for IV fluids because, "I'd rather die at home."

Betty Bismark

Flat coke and saltines. My mom would dose out the coke in one of those old kids medicine test tube lookin measuring devices
