There’s literally a trope called WJT (Weird Japanese Thing) that’s about the wacked out shit you can find in Japan, and weird-ass ecchi anime is one of them. Eiken, Seikon no Qwaser, Queen’s Blade, and those are relatively tame.

About ad reads: I watch on YouTube and listen on Patreon depending on my mood/situation (driving versus couch time). I get those that say ad free means ad free, but I feel like your curated, specific brands that pass your Mrs. Pearlmania muster are of interest to me. I think a good middle ground is what Pearlmania said to put it in the show notes.

I'm a lil freak that watches the YT version for the ad reads/visuals while paying for the patreon. (I have ad block for youtube so I don't get those unrelated ads when I watch) But also I want to support on the youtubes with some views and likes. I think for promo codes you could maybe do separate text posts on Patreon with the codes and when they expire? I think having them in the episode description is fine too! On a different note, I love that I know some of the nerdy/anime drama and lore Mr. P covers and Mrs. P covers celebrity drama and lore that I know almost NOTHING about. Balanced, delicious drama/lore meal thank you (nom nom nom).

I already get integrated ads in every other podcast I listen to, I'd like at least ONE island in the consumerism storm. If I want to see the funny ad read I'll rewatch on youtube

A lot of other creators will do a Patreon exclusive that is “unlisted” on YouTube and it is uncensored and has no ads. It’s the best way to do it IMO.

When it comes to your ads, I absolutely do not mind them! It's the auto-generated ones that always bother me and what actually convinced me to join here. I do agree that ad free means ad free, but if they were on here, I wouldn't mind because I know for sure they would be enjoyable. And definitely post the codes in the descriptions!

No no promo codes ! No!!!!! Just link them in description, that’s all. Don’t even talk about it. Everyone has those ad links and factor sucks. lol. Sorry, they aren’t good. They are good for the promo cost of 7$ a meal, but the real price is more like 14$ per one tv dinner, unlike you, Alex I didn’t go for the calorie control. I wanted heavy calories on mine and still my portions were too small …and I’m a size 2, 120 pounds. I was trying to put on the weight and factor can’t even give me enough food for that at $14 a pop for a TV dinner. Sorry I don’t need the promo code. Everyone has that promo code.🫶🏽

Im a new patreon, now playing catch up on the back catalogue of after parties... im gonna have to go back now and relisten to the adam and eve ad roll... as someone who listens on spotify (it works better with carplay in my work van) i dont mind the pearly ad reads, its the auto inserted ones make me switch off my ears for 30-120seconds
