So, in Australia the Liberal Party is the conservative political party. We do use the word ‘liberal’ sometimes, but might clarify it as ‘small L liberal’. The word means the same thing here, but I think we use it a lot less than in the States because of the name of the Liberal Party. I think probably use ‘leftwing’ the same way Americans use ‘liberal’.

I stayed at Graham's house while visiting my best friend, who lived with him, a couple times over the years. To me, he was just an oyster farmer Maine Ron Swanson type that we jokingly called "Hot Graham". He was a great guy to hang around a fire, drinking beer, and telling stories with. I would have never suspected this kind of controversy would ever come up about him but I never saw the tattoo (it may have even been covered up by then)nor did he talk much about his military past other than gun safety. I'm not excusing the behavior or anything, nor can I defend his true intentions when that shit was put on his body, just sharing my experience with him. I'm so torn on this whole situation because of my personal positive experiences w/ the man and my vehement opposition of racist, homophobic or xenophobic people. Shits complicated and I'm sure I have stuff in my past that, under a 2025 lens, would be considered cancellable. I sang in a punk band in the early 2ks and there's a few lyrics that would probably be held to this same level of scrutiny if I ever ran for public office...not that I ever plan to do so. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ok I’m sorry I’m finishing this episode more ok so more fun facts, currently Kat is blacking out all of her tattoos bc they don’t “align” w who she is now. Also she did most of jeffree stars tattoos Also, her husband has a probably now in her 20s daughter but when I learned of this she was like 14. They (last I recall) are estranged bc he blames her for destroying his band/friend bc his ADULT BANDMEMBER RAPED HIS DAUGHTER. And the daughter went out and talked about it on instagram and he denounced her and her story and said she was a liar and then posted a bunch of really mean shit ab his daughter and how she’s a whore liar. It was AWFUL. Kat was dating him at that time.
