Mrs. Pearlmania's story report returns just in time for christmas with a book that has NOTHING TO DO WITH CHRISTMAS. Bury Your Gays is a sci-fi, hollywood, gay, horror comedy thriller, that bucks conventions while pounding our butts with incredible scenes.

Chuck Tingle is quite famous for his e-books of monster erotica, but this book is a deep dive into the mind of a screenwriter facing Hollywood studios, generative Ai, internalized homophobia, and so much more!

We have just a few epsiodes left in 2025,so this 2 hour long AUDIO ONLY spoiler filled adventure will keep you covered for your holiday hours.

I'm so upset, I started this while driving to work but discovered that I forgot my ear buds at home so I have to wait!!! 🥲😫

Dr.DG

Really hope this doesn't get flagged on my work wifi lol

As a former WBD employee (left in March of this year, divine timing), I LOVED this book when I read it in June and recommended it to my former coworkers to read for the office book club. Also, funny story while I read this book: I officially became Not Like The Other Girls and read this book at a bar. (Because I was traveling from NYC back to Jersey after seeing a Broadway show and it was late, my phone was dying, and I missed the earlier train. My phone was charging behind the bar so I had nothing else to do but read this book while sipping whiskey on the rocks.)

Also! The one time asexual invisibility actually works in our favor! 🖤🩶🤍💜 🖤🩶🤍💜

This story report is going to get me through this wet, snowy, day of mail.

Mrs P, if you haven’t already read them, I feel like you would love Jason Pargin’s books.

Rockstache

Is next week's After Party going to be called that After Birth? I hope that's not too much, nothing but love for all the moms out there.

ScrambledPhoenixEggs

My partner is ace (and agender for further invisibility) and let me tell you, the scream I scrumpt when I got to that part...

ScrambledPhoenixEggs

Ever since I read Camp Damascus I've been itching for a Story Report!

The Trans Agenda (Bucky)

I finally joined the Patreon so I can now FINALLY comment directly on the posts! I have to work 6 days this week and normally today would be my "Friday." The way I was SO HAPPY that I get to finally hear Mrs. P talk about the Chuck Tingle book! Really helped me make it to lunch today ❤️ was also NOT expecting the plot of this book. It was SO GOOD!

I HEAVILY recommend the Smile movies. 10/10 monster reveal and great commentary on mental health and the insistence that women act like everything is fine. People just smiling also creeps me out so much, so it felt like a personal horror. The scene choreography in Smile 2 is phenomenal, showing you don’t need a monster for the audience to be afraid.

Joanna Laird

“They have no data on her because they don’t even market to her.” FACTS. Ace rep! Hell yeah!

Tri-sarah-tops

Mr P should read dungeon crawler carl or stranger in a strange land

Cian Marshall

Loved this! Mrs P should read an Andrew Joseph White story like You werent meant to be human - a very queer horror book sooooo good (as are the rest of his books)

GracieyFaciey

37 minutes in and so far this feels like if “I Saw The TV Glow” and The X-Files had a fanfiction baby. “The Smoker” is so Cancer-man

GracieyFaciey

Holy shit. Just discovered I ret-conned that character name and he was in fact credited as “the cigarette smoking man”

TheChaosPierogi

Omg can we get Live To Spite Them merch ?!

Lemonboi🍋

There was actually a tv show in the 80s called Voyagers that I think the traveler show in the book is based off of. It was the first show to pop up in my head when mrs.p described it.

lesbos4mrs.p

okay actually i just left my therapy appointment where i talked abt how bad my suicidal ideation has been and yeah this show does give me some joy and improves my day so the show has met its goal !

Short_Range_Attack_Chicken

What if Misha is played by Tim Parsons?? That would fit the whole straight acting and skinny tall body type! Plus wouldn’t be awesome?!?? 🤩

MandiCakes

Found a good Book Club read, I think: Crafting for Sinners “Ruth is trapped. She's stuck in her small, religious hometown of Kill Devil, Kentucky, stuck in the closet, and stuck living paycheck to paycheck. After her manager finds out that she lives with her girlfriend, Ruth is fired from her job at New Creations-a craft store owned by the church that dominates life in Kill Devil. In an act of revenge, Ruth attempts to shoplift some yarn but is caught red-handed. Instead of calling the police, the employees lock her in the store-and attack her. As Ruth fights for her life using only the crafting supplies at hand, she plunges deeper into the tangled web of the New Creationists, who are hiding a terrible secret that threatens not only her but the entire town.”

1. I 100% fancast most everyone as actors from Supernatural except the smoker (Smoking Man - x files) and Mrs. Y ( Lady D - resident evil) 2. Anyone else get Magnus Archives - Anglerfish vibes from the smokers first appearance?

Cherry_Vanilla_Coke_Supremacy

So I was actually expecting to find out that zeke and terra were fine after the speech because they’re nanobots.

Kristen Cocciante

Idk if this fits how u guys picture the character but a gay actor in the same vein as Andrew Garfield I think is Jonathan Groff?? And I think it fits lol

Alex Ryckman

I need the O reaction at one hour and 24 minutes to literally be on your soundboard for big reveal moments lol

Verity Lala

Ha ha ha - that Ace bit at the end was beautiful 🤣 I gotta say though, your tone verged on ‘well actually’ territory there toward the end, Mr P (I say this with love).

jessimightpanic

I loved this book. I read it before listening to the episode and it was such a great read.

Jessipoot

Chuck’s writing is so beautiful. I finished camp Damascus today and it was also very good. I liked bury your gays a little bit more, but camp Damascus is much better than the last 5 horror books I’ve read

Jessipoot

Any reason is a good reason to keep going.

Amazing report. Couldn't help myself from cackling at work. Honestly thought the title was gonna be an double entendre. Like 'bury your gaze' and either hiding their attraction, or be superfluous about it. This was way more fun though.
