When a story arc gets this far along, and every new step bears the weight of all the panels before it, meaning there's ever more to juggle, the artboards start to look more like the bulletin board at the asylum for failed poets than they do the genesis of a comic strip that "goes somewhere." But when I say that my favorite strips contain the energy of a three-minute burst of writing that came out of nowhere while listening to Judas Priest in the car, I also take a lot of pleasure in observing the characters as they pass through the personality test of a multi-week arc. I have a fun idea for how this all lands next week, so please stay tuned, stay lovely, and STAY CHO. CHO HARD. CHO NEVER DIES.

Interesting take, when it’s clear that Beef has entered a rare period of being a crap dude and a flake besides. But on the other hand, they are both into musicals now, so fuck both of them. What’s Cornelius up to? Cooking delicious fish in a pan with tarragon beurre blanc? Being unflappable? Hittin’ it on a warm May morning?

Playing Satie on room-sized Moog Modular System?

Beef forgets that Ray was there when stewardesses were diving for his hog

Its an Eat A Realm Of Ass Teodor Friday!

Cornelius strikes me as a man who tolerates the modern world of electronic instruments with a gentle manner, but who would make no personal time for anything but a stately grand piano

Téodor's musical would be grim. He'd have Beef's loathing of the form mixed with "anyone can do this shit" attitude but would have actually no idea how to do any of it. He'd just write an album's worth of interchangeable guitar pieces about Emotions and then slot them in diegetically between some stage directions about a man trying (and failing) to date a woman

Behind the scenes of this one, Beef is in the backyard digging up his black Calvin Klein shirt that Molly got him 21 years ago. He pulls it out of the ground and it is still as pristine as the day he got it, not a speck of dirt ground into the collars. However, he notices a new monogram across the left chest, in 6pt. cursive font: sssspeckersssss

also, the cursive font is that kind from the late 90s where none of the cursive letters actually connect with each other

An excellent suggestion, with a ribbon of gold firmly tied as a sub-comment

Canonically, we know that Connie at least owns a trumpet, but not whether or not he plays it. I wonder what he would think of the genre of Ska. Likely not much. I also agree that he seems like the type who plays sonatas on a Steinway if he is musical at all - not to impress others, but for his own personal enjoyment.

If you CHO HARD for more than 4 hours, seek the advice of a medical physician or webcomic artist. Also, glad to see that "EAT A REALM OF ASS, TEODOR!" continues to serve as an inspirational quote/mantra during the creative process.

I bet he would like Prince Buster and some mellow old Blue Beat 45s. But I’d doubt he would give a passing thought to such things as a “Mephiskapheles.” As for the Moog, don’t even try to tell me that that motherfucker doesn’t appreciate modular synthesis.
