On a routine hunt for artwork of a character in a certain pose, I came across this scratch board for something that wasn't quite a strip, and never made it into any other completed form. It's from eighteen years ago, so enjoy the Al Gore and Anna Nicole Smith references. (If you aren't familiar with the Drudge Report, it's the Internet's original answer to the question, "What if the Weekly World News teamed up with a paranoid guy talking to himself in a booth at Jack in the Box?" [In this scenario, the table is completely empty of food, napkins, etc.]

Is trying to marry a line of blow as stupid as trying to marry a flower?

Bruce Wright

We've lived long enough now to see Drudge become fiercely anti-Republican. The Daily Fail is still there to pick up the slack, though.

the internet really isn't that much different now to be honest. same content different forms. beautiful lmao

I can't believe we've been doing "one simple trick" marketing for this long.

Ste & Danni JM

"Al Gore canine torture holiday" is the highlight here. I could believe that was a real Drudge story.

Pretty good prediction on the shoddy Boeing plane

The Haight-Ashbury McDonald's headline is dredging up some rather unfortunate childhood memories.

The structural implication that Ray did five shots of Cuervo, had some sort of blackout moment in which he wrote or at least hallucinated a series of front page articles for Drudge Report, and awoke in hospital

The emergence of pleasing, dream-quiet, variant timelines is one of the treats I also discover when jamming these pieces into public awareness

Achewood

Drudge was always dredgin’

Achewood

Mostly written so we’d visualize Al gore shirtless, an image that haunted me back then

Achewood

I had the same pleasing realization, “same shits different assholes” etc

Achewood

I was surprised by that, but also don’t remember which way their toilet paper was hung during that whole Biden thing

Ray all, So THAT'S why they call it a fifth!

I have been to three California McDonalds and they were all basically the mental hospital scene in “Jacob’s Ladder.” I guess in a state with 20,000 higher-quality fast food options, McDonalds does not feel like caring *at all.*

Achewood

My friend, come back and visit a Burger King. It's what was left of the fast food experience after McDonald's took everything nice.

Every Good Boy Drinks (a) Fifth

Burger King is the lowest tier of the fast food experience, if you want to be seriously disappointed in the food while you eat it, and equally regretful every time you burp (and you will burp, continuously) for the next three days, BK is right for you.

Bruce Wright

You should some of the Subways near downtown Houston. They’re like Soviet mental health facilities, only not so spic and span.

Achewood

C C — the only nice thing I can say about Burger King is that in college, they had a coupon.

B W — There is a reason I chose Subway for Vlad and Pat to have their wars with.
