*I will be traveling throughout the day, but popping into the comments to chat and stir wise intermittently.
I banged my head against rows four and five for a week, staring for hours without a keystroke. I left for Christmas in California with the strip incomplete, frustrated I didn't know where it was going. Then, after days around family, doing the annual recap and reflection on the myriad permutations of success and failure that weave a tapestry as large as ours, the rest emerged — line by line, truism by truism, until it settled gently into canon with the rest. And now I can go fetch a plate of prime rib and string beans with everyone else.
Happy New Year to you! Thank you for hanging on another year; your support — and participation in the comments, come join! — mean the world to me and my family. I still love what I do (dry spells and all), and am quite happy for the year of Achewood we have ahead of us. In addition to seeing more of the cast in more formats, more original art will come from the new studio, and another drop of shirts and goods is underway, so please hang on for the ride. Achewood will be twenty-five in October, and I'm going to lay into it.
B-Roll Strip
And don't forget — the b-roll / "making-of" version of this strip posts two hours later in Tiers 2 & 3. Upgrade for a month for this and over 400 other upper-tier Achewood pieces!
I Solved The Holiday Shopping Problem
It's never too late to give a gift a subscription to the Patreon to a friend or loved one or marginally respected colleague! It's dead easy: choose how many months you want to give, then get a link you can share with them. It won't auto-renew. This is an even better gift now that the archive is binge-able! (see below)
Read All Strips At Once
In case you missed it, I set up a Collection here in the Achewood Patreon called Read All Strips At Once. You can go in there and click straight through the archive, just like we used to in the old days, when the politicians' hair was brown and the burgers were turkey.
