Hey Shan hope you’re ripper and have recovered from crying so hard over this excellent work of art that is ‘The Girl Who Waited’….. or not. Possible working titles for this episode included The Visitors' Room, The Visiting Room and Kindness. This was originally a backup script but after Steven Moffat read it he decided that it had to be an episode in this series. And he was right on the money, this episode shines brighter than the interface light on the glue that holds the series together and that is the love between Amy and Rory, I’ve seen reactors ball their eyes out over this, I’ve seen reactors scoff at this episode because they didn’t get it, all opinions are valid, me personally I love it 10/10 no notes. Full beards. three roses. I think the reason it feels so small is because it’s a budget episode, there’s only 3 sets and a Tardis and the walls are white with two logos on them. I think they’re called bottle episodes where the budget is smallest and they usually only film in one location. Did you notice the excellent oner shot when Rory leaves the red waterfall room, the door closes he slowly pushes the button for green anchor and the doors open and when he walks in the logos have changed and theres no Amy and no Tardis. Then! He walks out, the doors close and he slowly pushes the button for red waterfall and lo and behold the Tardis is back and the logos on the walls have changed- very clever film making. My only criticism is Rory using the Mona Lisa painting to defend himself against handbots. He would have had more luck blowing them away with his earth breath. The saddest part of the episode for me is Amy realising she had forgotten what it was to be loved. Rory waited for 2000 years Amy waited for 38 years you got some catching up to do red

I think it was about time we had an Amy and Rory centered episode, cause I know the show is about the Doctor, but I want to see more of these two and how strong they are as a couple. Also I think Amy and Rory are one of the most underrated tv couples ever. Alright they aren't a Damon and Elena, a Buffy and Angel, a Dr Grey and McDreamy or even Tom Holland and Zendaya (love those two btw) but honestly who cares, Rory may not be a bad boy but Amy loves him for who he is.

Another example of how I do think 11 is actually the most cold-blooded Doctor, even though he acts like the most childish and light-hearted. Rory telling the Doctor that he's turning him into the Doctor is one of my favourite lines of the series.

As emotional as the ending is it feels a little contrived. If its not two Amys existing that's the problem, but just both being in the TARDIS together, couldn't they have taken one Amy, then come back for the other five seconds later? I don't know, wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey...
