Happy Monday!

It's a long weekend here, but the holiday is tomorrow! LOL!🍁 The weather has been getting back to summer, which has been awesome! My weekend was jam-packed with work! How about you guys??? Anyone taking summer vacation anytime soon? or staycations? Visiting family or friends??? I'm supposed to go see "The Materialists" tonight with my friend. I'm not saying it's the movie I'm dying to see, but it should be a fun girls' night! I'll let you know my review; I've heard it's bad.

Here is this week!!!

TNG Tuesday - Kicking off Season 2 Epi 3 - "Elementary, Dear Data"

Thursday- Hot Fuzz YT Edit

AFI Friday- #59 Nashville (1975)

Saturday - Lottery Poll Winner Stargate (1994) I am so stoked you have no idea LOL

I'll be putting out a vibe check for next poll or what ya'll are feeling... I am feeling like watching a summer Blockbuster! See when our next live will be!!

Have a wonderful week! Love ya!

I've also heard bad things about Materialists, but Past Lives was one of my 2023 favorites, so maybe Celine Song is still finding her feet. Also, NASHVILLE!!!

Love Stargate! Even though it's a big commitment, not as big as Star Trek, I'm hoping you consider reacting to the Stargate series.

Teemu Laitinen

Have you seen Lincoln (2012) Ames? Just rewatched it yesterday. It's so great and just jam-packed with great actors. Daniel Day-Lewis IS Lincoln. Maybe Gandhi (1982) and Patton (1970) too? That would be an amazing trio of biopics.

Henry Graham

Okay, I'm going to keep my powder dry until Friday, but I just have to say that in my humble opinion NASHVILLE IS THE GREAT AMERICAN FILM. No other film from this era is more audacious in its construction, no other film is more perspicacious as a cultural snapshot, no other film is more packed with complicated, eccentric humanity or more exhilaratingly alive from moment to moment. Altman at his idiosyncratic, dizzying best. Enjoy!

Everything with Star in the title is great! S2 TNG let's GO!

Michael Lynch

I legit thought that said Magaville. I was like holy crap.

Clay F

Looking forward to Nashville and TNG.

Catchermag

TNG people, she’s starting with Episode 3. There will be some Pulaski confusion. Since she didn’t watch episode 1, should we explain now (if she hasn’t watched it already)?

NASHVILLE!!!! Very happy to see some music-themed content. Keith Carradine (brother of David Carradine- aka Kung Fu, Kill Bill) won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the song "I'm Easy". It reached #17 on the US Hot 100 and #1 on Adult Contemporary. Canadian singer Ron Nigrini did a cover that reached #22 on Canadian charts.

Comic Book Guy quote: "Of the four Star franchises- Wars, Trek, Gate and Search... Gate is easily my 3rd favorite!" 🤣 Hot Fuzz is brilliant. The best of the Cornetto trilogy.

Brian's Dog

I am not excited for summer heat, but I am excited for Stargate.

1975 rears its mighty head yet again: Jaws.....Cuckoo's Nest......Dog Day.....and now Nashville! Not to mention Holy Grail....and Barry L! Could Rollerball be far behind? :D. (Or - gasp - Woody Allen's Love And Death? :D ) (looking forward to Nashville for sure!)

TNG and Stargate in one week! Jackpot!! 😂

Scourge_77

Stargate, a good film that set up a very underrated franchise (one I wish more people were aware of).

Frankie H

Oh cool Stargate, a really fun film that led to a an excellent tv series.

Jason Parker

Yes yes yes!!! TNG and Stargate! Let’s go!!

Steven Ortiz

I recommend Speed with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock if it's a first time watch for you.

'Nashville' is a classic of Americana. Stacked cast. I don't like country music, in fact I think the soundtrack is bloody awful but this might have been on purpose. Altman had a cheeky sense of humor about such things.
