🩷 Krista: Nobody Like Us - doing a reread of some certain Frog and Quinn scenes 😉

💛 Becca: Destructively Mine - since I'm in a major writing cave, I tend to only reread our books during this time. Right now, I've been flipping through various chapters of Destructively Mine while we're finishing up Dangerously Ours.

LAST MOVIE WATCHED

🩷 Krista: Smile 2 (2024) Rating: 9/10 - the first movie was a 10/10 for me, but I still enjoyed this one! It's in my top favorite Horror franchises now.

💛 Becca: Friday Night Lights (2004) Rating: 8/10 - I had the biggest celeb crush on Garrett Hedlund growing up (especially after Four Brothers), and I saw this was on Netflix and decided to rewatch. Garrett Hedlund & Tim McGraw are still the standouts of the movie for me! It also made me want to rewatch some of the TV show again.

BEST IN TV

🩷 Krista: Lioness, Arcane, The Vampire Diaries (rewatch) - Started Lioness from Becca's recommendation and I love it! Arcane season 2 just came out and I'm already diving in. I'm also returning to my TVD binge watch in the middle of season 2. Klaus just got mentioned!

💛 Becca: From & Friday Night Lights - as mentioned, I've tuned back into FNL which we watched back when it aired in 2006-2011. It still holds up! Especially Matt Saracen's character (he had to grow up way too fast), and watching this in our thirties hits different because Coach Taylor is 🔥🔥🔥😆 And I love his relationship with Tami. I also love how real this show feels in the way that it's written and filmed. Characters will literally talk on top of each other. You feel like you're peeping into their everyday lives.

For anyone who loves the show Lost, then I highly recommend From, which is an MGM+ original but you can watch the first season with an AMC+ subscription. The mystery is really engaging, albeit frustrating at times, but season three is the best so far in my opinion, and it's about to air the finale next week.

I took a light pause on Buffy, but I plan to go back! I got sidetracked by FNL 😂

Becca glad you’re still watching Buffy! I finished season 3 of Angel and idk how I feel about it. I do not like Connor so far 😅 and I’ve been talking to a friend about it and they say s4 is the weakest, but I’ll push through bc I know s5 is one of the best. I know you’re unsure of where 9-1-1 is going, but have you watched Dr Odyssey which comes right after 9-1-1?

Have you guys ever read the Miles High series by TL Swan? Not sure if it’s up your alley, but it gave me (what I imagine will be) Cobalt Empire vibes, but like in their mid 30’s. It’s 4 billionaire brothers and their romances. It’s my current favorite after the Addicted series! Highly recommend.

OMG. I think one of my best friends may have gone to the same Cyndi Lauper concert that you both did. He sent me a ton of pics & videos. It looks like it was absolutely epic! I actually saw Cher’s Dressed to Kill tour about 10 years ago with Cyndi Lauper as a special guest (with this same friend). So good. Cyndi Lauper always makes me feel such joy.

Freaking LOVE Paramore!! I was listening to Still Into You the other day and it’s just *chef’s kiss*… and All We Know Is Falling is one of those albums I can listen to front to back without skipping songs which is soo rare for artists to be able to do!! They are just fuel for the tired soul sometimes and being out all the emotion!! Can’t wait to see how The Only Exception plays into what you’re writing!! Happy writing my amazing friends!! Soooo excited for all that’s to come from now to whenever BB comes out, and beyond 💕✨

Such great updates (as always)! :) 𝐓𝐕 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐬: I still need to finish FNL (the TV show)! I started watching it a little while ago and ended up getting sidetracked and forgetting where I left off (😅), so I have to start over soon! I think I was still on season 1 (so I wasn’t that far into the show), but I remember liking Matt + Julie + Tim! :) I also agree about Coach Taylor. 🙂‍↕️🔥 Speaking of early 2000’s TV shows, I was wondering if you’ve watched “South of Nowhere”? 👀 I watched it on YouTube a couple of years ago because it wasn’t available on streaming platforms in the US. I was hoping to rewatch it soon, but it seems that the first season is still nonexistent on streaming platforms, so my plans have been thwarted. 🥲 Like some others have mentioned, I’ve heard 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 things about Doctor Odyssey. I’m hoping to catch up on it soon! :) 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬: “The Only Exception” is such an 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 song. I adore Paramore! :’) I’ve reverted to my fall / winter bubble & have been listening to a lot of songs that make me feel breezy (if that makes sense)? I love listening to a song and feeling as though a gust of wind just hit me in the face, y’know? (“About You” by The 1975 is a prime example of this.) I’ve also been listening to a lot of past favorites in general this season! :) • “bleed you” - Sierra Spirit. • Not Strong Enough” - boygenius. • “Stranded” - Plumb. • “The Alcott” - The National + Taylor Swift. I hope you’re both doing well! The Cyndi Lauper concert sounds like it was an incredible time!! :) 🤎🤎🤎

I think I had a biased love of Connor bc I loved that actor from the movie Alaska 😂 I only watched half of the pilot episode of Dr. Odyssey. I didn't give it much of a chance. Is it worth watching?

We haven't read that one! We prob won't be able to read it if it's too much like our series though, sadly. We tend to steer clear of anything similar to what we're writing bc we don't want to compare/contrast 😆 sometimes it can get us really in our heads

We admittedly didn't listen to too much Paramore growing up, even though they were a huge deal when we were younger, but I just got into that particular song and am obsessed!! Now I'm probably going to need to do a whole deep-dive of their albums!

It was such a great time and the best excuse to meet up with each other! I miss having Krista around day to day, but it's also great scheduling things to do together. It feels even more special, and Cyndi was THE BEST! Her little monologues between the songs were so inspiring, too. I could listen to her talk for hours

There's a lot of storylines I don't love in FNL, but during my rewatch, I just watched the Matt/Julie storylines and I loved seeing their whole 5 season arc. It was really fun, and Coach Taylor was just such a standout. He does "serious dad" mode so well. OMG I've NEVER heard of South of Nowhere! I just looked it up and I actually can't believe Krista & I never tried to watch this in the 2000s. I'm super intrigued now!! It sounds like something we would've devoured. Oooh looking up your music recs! I haven't heard of any of those, so I'm excited to listen to 'em. Likewise, we hope you're doing amazing, Shi! Sending lots of love your way, always 🩷🩷

Hayley Williams’ voice is perfection 😍 they have such a diverse catalogue and often leave you in your feels when listening!! That’s a great gateway song for them but be warned, some of their stuff is harder so don’t be surprised when it sounds more punk-rockish if you explore lol… it’s not like hard hard, but their music runs the board with options for listening!!
