Here's the source file from this week's video on typed bundles in Geometry Nodes. Inside you'll find the full node setup: the planet and asteroid belt bundle groups, the solar system node with its repeat zones and nested bundle logic.

Typed Bundles in Blender 5.2 — Build a Declarative Solar System (Geometry Nodes)

In this video I dig into a more advanced use of bundles in Blender 5.2: typed bundles. I walk through how to declare objects with a "type" field, group them into reusable node assets so changes propagate everywhere they're used, and then nest those bundles together so you can pack an entire scene's worth of data into one clean input. Using a repeat zone, get nested bundle paths, and get bundle item, I build a fully declarative solar system generator — planets with orbits, materials, optional rings, and even an asteroid belt — where adding a new object is as simple as adding one more entry to a list. It's a stylized, not-to-scale solar system, but the real point is the workflow: once the system is built, extending it is almost trivial. This is part of an ongoing series on using closures and bundles to write more declarative Geometry Node setups. #Blender #BlenderTutorial #GeometryNodes #Blender3D #B3D #BlenderGeometryNodes #ProceduralModeling #3DAnimation #DigitalArt #BlenderCommunity #NodeBasedDesign #BlenderPython #CGI #3DArt #TypedBundles ------------- Support the channel and more free stuff via my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/johnnymatthews 00:00 - Start 01:20 - Making Typed Bundles 03:02 - Syncing Typed Bundles with Groups 05:19 - Creating a Basic Planet 08:51 - Nested Bundles 18:40 - Combining the Master Simulation Node 19:37 - Declaring Planets Easily 20:20 - Adding More Planet Options 24:55 - Working with a Second Type
