The ATLA series finale is here and it did NOT disappoint. I think it wrapped up perfectly. My top three are Iroh, Zuko, and Toph, with Sokka as an honorable mention. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments and enjoy the reaction!

BIG THANK YOU for 1) starting ATLA & 2) finishing ATLA (even if it took awhile) I don't know when/if you'll check out Korra but I'm happy to follow your journey into the Adult GAANG movie whenever it releases!

JD Dumas

Inarguably one of the greatest endings to an animated series of all time. 10/10. Granted the whole Energybending thing was kind of a Deus Ex Machina, but it was awesome and almost nobody complained.

JD Dumas

While I like Ozai as a villain and am a fan of irredeemable in general, I must confess that I prefer Azula. While Azula is fascinating, Ozai is less of a character and more of an obstacle to overcome. He's like a living representation of everything wrong with the Fire Nation since Sozin betrayed Roku. He's almost like Takauji from Elusive Samurai, the culmination of an evil that began generations ago. But I guess not every villain needs a complex backstory or psychology. Some are just dragons to slay.

Speaking of villains, I can't wait for you to get back into Generator Rex. I've been rewatching the episodes on my own to hype me up for your reactions and now I remember why I loved Van Kleiss so much when this was first coming out. I found a quote on YouTube that sums him up nicely without spoiling anything. Full disclosure, this quote was actually about a villain from a different series that I know you haven't seen, but the describe also applies to Van Kleiss so I'll be paraphrasing. "Van Kleiss' understanding and use of his powers are extraordinary. He is brave, but careful. Smart, but patient. While his moral compass is undeniably malicious, he is by no means deranged. His fearless desire for power makes him extremely dangerous."

Okay, the way your face lit up when Bumi reappeared with the Order of the White Lotus... yeah, that was wholesome as fuck, but I can't blame you, he's such a fun character!

Jim Corbett

Please react to The Legend of Korra. It's not as good as Avatar: The Last Airbender, but it is still a really good sequel series. I think you will enjoy it. Loved watching you react to this series.

I think this is pretty much the best ending for this show and all the characters. I would love to see Korra at some point. I personally think its almost as good as Aang, but you should definitely take a a decent break 1st to enjoy it the most.

I cannot condone what Azula has done, she's done horrific things, but I will at least say... she wasn't born a monster, she's product of her environment, of her father's influence and her mother's absence... it's quite sad to see her crack and shatter as her mental illnesses consume her, as she's forced to confront the harsh reality of her life and her choices... she just couldn't escape the "path" set by her father until the very end and it does break my heart because she should have, by all rights, grown up to be a normal child. It is one of my hopes that they'll touch upon Azula in the movie, just to see if she could ever overcome her own flaws and start to atone by living as a better person.

Zuko (and Katara) vs Azula is easily Top 5 favorite moments from ATLA personally, some of the best "Fire Fighting" I've seen in animated format and the weight/power/emotion behind the whole match is just... *chef's kiss*

Yea it totally isnt as good as ATLA, but is really good sequel series.

The finale never disappoints, no matter how many times I watch it and I’m glad you loved it as well, man! To break down my thoughts… Zuko and Iroh’s reunion always brings me to tears. Zuko is my favorite character and was so well written, I was overjoyed when Iroh forgave him so easily. Iroh may have lost one son to the war but the other son found his way home. Azula’s mental breakdown is tragic, she tried so hard to be perfect for Ozai but there’s never a scene with them where he shows any love. Mai and Ty Lee were the only two people she thought at least cared but their betrayal pretty much made her snap. Even making her Firelord was meaningless, Ozai created a grander title that would still keep her under his thumb and Azula would be crowned with no one there to celebrate. Zuko and Azula’s duel, The Last Agni Kai, is a phenomenal battle. It has a heartbreaking soundtrack and not much dialogue which sets the tone for a devastating scene. Zuko fights calm and patiently, incorporating movements from all four bending styles, while Azula is wild and erratic. It’s a total reversal of their earliest fights where Zuko struggled to keep pace with Azula. The only way Azula could “beat” Zuko was to attack Katara and even then she still loses. I honestly love it more than Aang vs Ozai because Zuko and Azula’s characters were so well built while Ozai seemed more like an obstacle for Aang. While some feel energy bending is cop out, I think it perfectly suits the story and Aang’s character. In general, the show had to avoid death and killing as much as possible that’s why Jet’s death is sort of ambiguous. If you really want to know what happened with Zuko’s mom, there’s a graphic novel you can read. It also has other stories with Team Avatar. I do hope you’ll react to Korra sometime in the future. It’s a great sequel series, not as good as ATLA, but still well done and I truly think you’ll enjoy it.

This is defiantly one of the best finales that actually tie up the story nicely, it shows how much each character has grown from where we first met them. After the series ended there were talks of a fourth season about finding Zuko's mom but the creators weren't sure on how to write it so they ended up focusing on the live action movie and comics, although they did eventually adapt the idea into a graphic novel during Korra's run. It would be interesting too see your reaction to the live action movie at some point, it was produced/written/directed by M. Night Shyamalan, but unfortunately isn't that great but is still an interesting watch none the less Korra is defiantly worth a watch although one thing I will say is the seasons in Korra are kind of the opposite to ATLA with season 1 of Korra being the strongest and season 3 being the weakest but thats because the creators only intended on doing 1-2 season's but nickelodeon pushed for 3.

Altair_H

Korra's story is a hot mess and certainly not as good as ATLA, but it did had its amazing moments as well that do deserved to be reacted to.

Arthur Morgan

The thing I liked the most about Aang winning without killing Ozai was that it showed that even the Avatar, who's duty is to protect the world at any cost, is still able to find solutions that didnt require him to forgo his convictions and what he knew to be right. It wouldnt surprise me if some people in the fire nation would see the Avatar as a threat to them if word came that Aang had killed their leader whom they were taught to revere like a deity. But the way Aang defeated Ozai surely would make restoring balance much easier not just to the rest of the world but the fire nation as well.

Remember in book 2 when iroh told zuko that he learned how to redirect lightning by studying water benders? 1:15:45 here zuko used a move that he learned while studying earthbenders, 1:16:20 and this move is inspired by aangs airbending

Anriku

Agreed. It truly sets the foundation for healing and bringing balance back to the world.

Anriku

Wrapped it up perfectly. I'll consider the movie and put it to a poll sometime once I get a handle on the current schedule. 🙏

Anriku

Korra isn't out of the question. ;) I'm starting to see how much the Patrons want Avatar and its sequels. I couldn't have said what you said better. I agree with you.

Anriku

Facts. Wrapped up perfectly.

Anriku

Easily one of my faves too. Wanted more of that over Ozai vs Aang.

Anriku

They were apparently going to give her a redemption arc. Not sure why they scrapped it. She's definitely a tragic character.

Anriku

Appreciate your thoughts, dude. Korra will happen. Probably in the late Fall. Who knows. ;)

Anriku

Such a fun character and wasn't even considering he'd be part of the White Lotus. Such a badass moment for the old men!

Anriku

Such a sick quote. I can't wait to see more of him, dude. From his design to his powers to his attitude, I need more!

Anriku

Agreed. I was more excited for Zuko and Katara vs Azula. So damn sick.

Anriku

Happy to hear most the random accepted the energy bending twist. I think it works perfectly.

Anriku

Looking forward to that movie now. ;)

JD Dumas

You won't be disappointed, that's all I'm gonna say.

Eren Yeager

Yes 100 would love to see korra reaction, I am pretty sure ur gonna love s1 and s3, its bot the same history as atla but every season has different theme because they the writers thought they were only going to have 1 season then they made 4. atla will allways be top but korra is fantastic in different ways. Its been a nice journey ✅🗣️🔥

Eren Yeager

And btw korra season 1 is alot of mystery so I just know your gonna like it! Korra is the opposite of aang too. More aggressive

Eren Yeager

nah 3 got the best villain for sure 1 and 3 were peak

Anriku

Good to know. Hopefully sometime soon.

Ashhab Imran

Except Season 3 is most people's pick for best Korra season

Ashhab Imran

I know everyone understandably wants you to get to Korra, but I almost, in a twisted way, want to see your reaction to the 2010 live action movie. All I'll say is it'd make for a fun reaction

Ashhab Imran

"hot mess" that doesn't exactly explain anything
