Another fantastic and intense 2-episode arc! That Zillo Beast is nightmare fuel, man… Loved all the different angles and shots throughout, especially the scenes with the green fuel. So many cool visuals in this arc!

And just imagine how different things would’ve been if the Zillo Beast had actually gotten its claws on Palpatine. 😂

Drop your thoughts below, and enjoy the ride!

I remember when the first episode of this arc came out on Cartoon Network. For weeks the commercials built it up, never once letting us see what it fully looked like until the premiere. Memories.

- Malastare was first mentioned in the very first episode, ‘Cat and Mouse’, when Admiral Yularen recalled his initial battle against Admiral Trench, who was heading a Corporate Alliance blockade during the Battle of Malastare Narrows. - The Dug first appears as a species in Episode 1, where we met Sebulba, Anakin’s podracing rival. I always loved their bizarre anatomy. Anyway, the Dug are the native species of Malastare, but they are represented in the senate by the Gran (the three-eyed, snouted species), who colonized the planet and are its secondary inhabitants. - Dr. Sionver Boll was a Bivall from Protobranch, one of the Core worlds. - The Zillo Beast (the last of its kind) is a direct homage to Godzilla and that means I automatically love this duology. Anything Godzilla or Godzilla related is my cup of tea lol. Although, the second part also carries a lot of heavy notes from the original King Kong story. - The Zillo Beast was an innocent victim in that it was a solitary animal, the last of its kind, disturbed from its peace, startled, and attacked. It has no concept of higher morality like more sapient species do, it just wants to survive. Not to mention that it had somewhat higher brain function, likely similar to elephants or dolphins irl. - Not only is Coruscant a city planet, it’s the capital of the Republic. 😭 - He only shows for a little bit, but the blue guy accompanying Palpatine was Mas Amedda, a Chagrian from the planet Champala. He was the Vice Chair of the Galactic Senate under both Palpatine and Chancellor Valium before him (Episode 1). He was actually one of the only few people who knows that Palpatine was Darth Sidious was Palpatine’s right hand in the Republic government. He became Grand Vizier when the Republic Transitioned into the Empire. - This story is great when it comes to Palpatine because this is one of the only times where something is completely unprecedented to him and out of his hands, a situation where he is in genuine mortal danger where you can see real fear in his face. This rarely ever happened. - Palpatine wanting to clone new Zillo Beasts was a crazy plot point that many of us fans were extremely excited to see unfold, especially because, like you said, we know that there’s no new Zillo Beast come Episode 3 (and there really wasn’t…yet). Sadly, this never truly went anywhere in TCW and we were left disappointed for many years. Worry not, though, as we FINALLY got all our answers in the past few years thanks to other animated series set after TCW. 😉

That's amazing. Good times for sure. The good old days. 😭

That blue guy always stood out to me in the movies and thats where I remember him from! The prick racer from Ep1. 🤣 I look forward to seeing that pay off eventually. Not sure how long that'll take though. Lol
