Hello, art family!

Today's painting comes with a little extra meaning behind it.

One of our wonderful patrons, Chrissy, was involved in a very serious car accident last week and spent an entire week in the hospital. Thankfully, she is now home recovering, but it has certainly been a frightening and difficult time for her and her family.

When she shared her news with us, I asked if there was anything she would like me to paint to help lift her spirits. Her request was simple and peaceful: a lakeside scene with a canoe and a loon.

So I sat down and painted this special watercolor just for her. ❤️

As I worked on it, I thought about calm waters, quiet mornings, and those peaceful moments in nature that allow us to slow down, breathe, and heal. My hope is that this little painting brings her some comfort and encouragement during her recovery.

I also hope she gets the opportunity to paint this scene herself when she's feeling up to it. I think it would make a beautiful and relaxing project.

Please join me in sending her positive thoughts, prayers, and well wishes as she continues to heal. Our creative community is such a special place, and I'm grateful for the kindness and support you all show one another.

Thank you all for being here and for helping make this community so wonderful.

Have you ever painted something specifically to brighten someone's day? I'd love to hear about it in the comments.

Omgsh Kellie you are a DOLL. I'm watching it now. Don't know when I'll be able to get back up to the north county but what a gift to watch you paint it. THANK YOU a million times over 🥹💜🥹💜

We have a lot of rocks in the Adirondacks too. Always looking for a sandy spot to land my kayak. I love all the textures in the rocks and the layers of the trees are lovely mm

Chrissy

And the loon he's perfect. I am so touched 🥹. Can't wait to try this, need to be able to sit up for longer and get rid of blood clot in my right arm. So glad I found you you're a gem I feel so special thank you 💜💜💜

Hi Claudia, isn't that great! That is my 8 year old hand made resin desk that I made. It's a stand up desk and we purchased a piece of wood from the local hardware store, and I used alcohol ink and resin to finish it. There is a youtube video of the quick process: https://youtu.be/Zn7brTXjpsk
