I watched SAO in high school out of sheer curiosity, because of your videos, just wanting to see how bad it could really get (you weren't exaggerating). I barely remember any of the war arc from Alicization though,, so a good roast to refresh my memory would not go unappreciated.

I would absolutely love a roast of the rest of Alicization! That would be a blast! It’s shame that this movie is so horrible, and so needlessly expensive just to watch legally. Because it seemed to have a little potential to at least be enjoyable as an Aincrad story that didn’t center on Kirito. But while it didn’t end up being remotely enjoyable, nor was it as light on the Kirito-worship as it seemed, at least the Progressive movies ended up being everything this movie seemed it could have been and more. And this movie being as atrocious as it was also led to the return of Geoff roasting SAO, which I was never expecting to see again!

I mean, credit where it's due, I've never seen a story resolved with 'exit pursued by deer' before. Largely because it's a really dumb way to end a story, but it's certainly different, that's for sure.

I'm usually a fan of SAO. Granted I haven't watched or kept up with the story from Underworld on, but I enjoyed Aincrad and I tend to enjoy Sugu. But this movie looks... so so bad XD I had almost forgotten how cliche and dumb SAO could get but woo boy, this summary sure does remind me! Please do Alicization!

The "Full Dive Non-Conformance" thing is from Progressive. One of the characters there has it and has no depth perception. I think the villain of Ordinal Scale had it too and wasn't able to fight because his body doesn't move right. So the characters can be forgiven for not immediately calling BS. It's a pre-established plot element.
