Episode 10 Update - 09/11/20 (Patreon)
Content
Hello all,
Once again, apologies for being late to update. I had a very rough time this past week, suffering from an unusually high amount of fatigue, and my output hasn't been as good as it could be. Nonetheless, I've taken a sizable bite out of 'F' and, while quite large, doesn't seem to be as taxing as I'd originally thought.
I've now had time to mess around with the map, take care of all the glitches, and plot out the path the characters take throughout the scene. Previously, I'd grouped "F" into two sections: "F" and "F2". I now see that the entirety of "F" is four distinct sections, which I've dubbed "F_a" "F_b" "F_c" and "F_d"
F_a is 3850 frames and contains a very healthy amount of diverse animations. I've been working at F_a for a good part of the week, and I'd really like to have it finished or almost finished in the next week or so.
F_b is around 2000 frames and is 100% action. I'm currently in the process of working with a storyboard artist on getting this scene right and making sure the beats are in the right places. I probably won't move to animate this until later and will likely need more help.
F_c is 4000 frames but is mostly all dialogue. This one should be much easier to animate and I intend to approach is right after F_a is finished. I have confidence this one will go smoothly.
F_d is 3000 frames and has a good mix of action and dialogue. I probably won't get to this until October.
In other news, my animator has now turned in the front half of 'A' and I have given him all the necessary edits to move forward. It's pretty good, but still definitely needs more time on it. While reviewing it, I noticed that I was quite picky about hitting certain beats of the scene, and I anticipate having to do a lot of cleanup and edits myself once it's turned in to me, as I have a very specific vision for it. This worries me just a little bit, but then again, I've been picky about every episode, hence the long production lengths.
My main objective right now is finishing F_a, and then F_c. I want these finished by the end of the month, however, I'm going to need to really step it up in the coming weeks to get it done, and I'm hoping I can do better than I've done this past week. Although I've made some strides, I really wish I was a little further along. Hopefully by next week, I'll be feeling better and have better news to report to you. As always, your support is very appreciated. Thank you all.
