booooy we are coming close to ending season 2, it's about to ramp up lol. I hate Andrea, but Shane is awesome. He is a survivor. I think he's ahead of the curb for the apocalypse. His only downside is his lori love, but he's someone id want on my side if walkers come.

If you think back to the beginning before the apocalypse, when Shane and Rick were talking, you could tell Shane had a thing for Lori. He admitted it in these eps when he told Lori, 'this was a long time coming.' After it started when he thought Rick was gone, he figured he finally had what he wanted and it was 'fate.' Rick finding them shattered his fragile ego and sent him into a borderline psychotic break. Jon Bernthal, who plays Shane, plays a character you can actually like in the MCU, you really need to put Daredevil S2 in your watch list.

I completely agree with yall about Shane and Andrea! It always boggles my mind when people love those characters and not just love them as villains. I see Shane as just a genuinely bad person, but, to me, Andrea is just self-centered. There are a few points in the show where she redeems herself a bit in my eyes, but mostly I can't stand her being around lol

I think the love for Shane is mostly hindsight. The Lori stuff with him is obviously just bad person behavior but the survival stuff he is just way ahead of everybody in understanding the way of this new world, I dont want to say too much because of spoilers but think about the type of people you need for the problems to come.

I will say, when I was 13 when this season dropped in 2011, Andrea was my favorite. Now she just annoys me LOL

I agree. There's no way in hell I would rely on Shane or Andrea to have my back. The fact that he adjusted to the loss of humanity so quickly says alot about his character. Anyone can learn survival skills....being a decent human being isn't as easily taught.

I think Shane would have your back. like I said, besides his love of Lori that drove him mad, I believe in another situation where Lori or carl weren't there, he would keep you alive. He's ahead of the curb.

Starting to think Shane is more so obsessed with Rick in the creepy "I want to wear your skin” way and the Lori stuff is just a by-product of that. The way the actor is playing it feels like he idolizes Rick but also hates how he reminds him of his own inadequacies. He doesn’t know how to deal with that cognitive dissonance so tried becoming him but can’t do that if Rick’s around so he’s fractured. The characters we’ve gotten so far feel like such classic literary characters but can’t put my finger on exactly why. Hoping this new kid sticks around cause I feel like we’re running out of interpersonal conflicts to have with our current cast.

Even with hindsight, I kinda love Shane as a character, but as a person he is just terrible. He's just a selfish and unempathetic person. Dale points out that he is made for that world and that isn't a compliment. I understand people loving the compelling nature of him as a character, but I've seen a lot of people in reactions always side with him over Lori or Dale 100% which just seems bizarre to me lol
