I haven't seen Rocky or RoboCop either lol. "It's a wonderful life" is a great Christmas movie made in 1946 I believe. It's extremely wholesome and charming with some interesting film aspects as well. It's probably the oldest film I've seen and I highly recommend that for you guys to watch next holiday season.

Three attempts to open video, not working, please check, Thanks!

Predator 2 is not very good, no Arnold, no McTiernan directing, weak story line. Sorry, don't mean to be a downer, but it will disappoint you. Hey! Some great movies came out in the 40s, the whole noir genre was born in the 40s. I wouldn't take comments on YT too seriously, a lot of clueless people are out there, and they all think they are smarter than they actually are. I love that you have seen so few things from back in the day, so to speak. I was born in 1962, and I gotta tell you I have watched a lot of movies that came out well before I was born. Don't limit yourselves by avoiding the older stuff, there are plenty of great movies before the 1990s.

I have two good 80’s movies from Chick Norris : Lone Wolf Mcquade and Silent Rage, also Jean Claude Van Dam in Bloopsport & Kickboxer are great movies

Tony, as someone who watched the walking dead... speak your mind man. It's a good show but not a great show, I think it's super overhyped and went on for too long. Now there are a million spinoffs and some are good, some are bad. My biggest problem with TWD is it has no real plot/storyline. The whole plot is, "zombies, and then humans F things up". It never really goes anywhere because how could it? The ultimate goal of any zombie themed story is survival, so if there are still zombies and bad people there is always a threat to survival. It honestly could be compared to something like greys anatomy where there is no ending, just more problems

Ludus Aurea

I'd watch this for a dollar.

I remember the first time my wife and I watched 'It's a Wonderful Life' with our kids. Their first reaction was a less than enthusiastic, 'this is a black and white movie?' Two hours later they were hooked, and we watch it every Christmas now. The lesson is simple, don't judge a book by it's cover, movies have been telling compelling stories since the beginning, long before FX and CGI. Back then it was all about the story, not the bling.

I especially relate to the theme of having big plans/dreams all well intentioned and with the hopes of "changing the world" to eventually see that your interactions with your family and community can have just as big an impact if not be more impactful than whatever grandiose plans we ourselves may have had.

You guys might wanna consider checking out the Rocky movies, trust me it be good timing.

DarrellWaller

Since you mentioned Rocky, I HIGHLY suggest that. One of the best movies of all time. Also , Rambo: First Blood, or more correctly, just First Blood. Both Rocky and First Blood are Sylvester Stallone movies. Both excellent.

The problem with TWD stemmed from a change in show runners. Frank Darabont was the original SR and he made it popular, but as the popularity grew, he wanted more $$ and instead he got canned. Scott Gimple took over, and eventually the stories were not nearly as good. They are getting close to the point in the show where many fans, including myself, said...enough. It signals a turn from dark and scary to just plain morbid. It just got too depressing to watch. I lasted until early season 7 the first time, but stopped after Terminus this time, the high point of the show IMO.

After y'all watch Robocop 2 watch the 2014 Robocop reboot it's not bad I grew up on the first Robocop I was born in 1990 I'm an October baby too and I didn't mind the reboot I enjoyed it not as good as the first Robocop of course.

TheOctobers

we are finishing it tomorrow sorry for the delay our editor needed some things!

Kale

Well put, I agree it starts off so well and I dropped out at a similar point. Another thing worth pointing out is how it was originally released. Sometimes when you watch a show years after it came out you forget audiences had to wait at least a week or half a year or more to watch the next episode. There are some really weak episodes that you would wait all week for and then go… “really, that’s it? What did this episode accomplish?”

Ludus Aurea

Tell me you’re literally not intelligent enough to understand Twd without telling me. The plot is not zombies. This story is about the human condition. The show literally directly adapted a scene from the book to explain this to you and you still couldn’t understand it. It had a set start and the comic ended years before the show, which gave the show a set ending.

Ludus Aurea

It. Is. Based. On. A. Comic. Book. That. Was. 7. Years. Old. When. The. Show. Started. Seriously I try not to be an asshole to peoples patrons but you should think before you talk. The stories have nothing to do with the show runner. Season 7 story was written in stone before the show was ever produced.

Ludus Aurea

Classic Verhoeven cyberpunk. The satire of this movie is going to go over most people’s heads though. In addition to red foreman, the guy in the club is robins dad in how I met your mother.

Kale

Ludus you need to chill out. We were sharing our opinion on a show and for some reason you felt the need to defend it as if you were the creator. Stop using the word literally and stop saying it was based on a book, it was based on a graphic novel. If you think TWD has some deep other meaning you are looking for something that is not there.

Gail Ferguson

Same thing happened with Starship Troopers.

RoboCop holds a special place in my heart. No wasted scenes, the practical effects still holds up and is considered a masterpiece in the sci-fi/action genre. It's easily one of the best movies as far as pacing and practical effects are concerned. Fun fact: RoboCop was loosely inspired by the Judge Dredd comics of the 70's—as the writers were huge fans of the series. Funny enough, the 2012 Dredd reboot starring Karl Urban, is considered a love letter to RoboCop, echoing its gritty tone, graphic violence, and dystopian backdrop. I highly recommend you add it on the list. Speaking of 80's bangers, I also recommend watching The Goonies (1985). Out of all the 80's movies Stranger Things draws inspiration from, The Goonies is easily their biggest influence.

Becca

Yo- Mr. O, Me Too!!! Only 69 was hit or miss with the weather. Of course, other than Hana Barbara Sunday cartoons, no one ever watched it. I grew up in McDonough. All my friends had cable, but my parents weren’t going to pay for that since we “got so many channels anyway” 🙄 Because my parents are Boomers who only had 3 channels.

Damian

Begging ya'll to watch Transformers

Kyndu

Starship Troopers.
