Thoughts on this underseen Soderbergh gem? Thoughts on Black Bag?

Comments

PJ Gaughan

My thoughts on the first 45 min of this episode “That Depardieu ain’t right I’ll tell you what”

August Hammel

king of the hill and black bag ended up being two of my favs of his!

Jenny Maurer

I’m sorry but presence felt real rushed to me It was like twin peaks but not that much sociological depth regarding the misogyny of society. And the Lucy Liu business malpractice was dropped also Lucy liu and the ensemble cast were good though

Liesl

I had a good time with Black Bag! It's sleek, stylish and sexy with an excellent cast. Quieter than I expected for a spy movie, but the way everything unfolded was very satisfying to watch.

Kelly Kemp

I saw King of the Hill during its initial theatrical release and haven’t seen it since. Now I’m intrigued to rewatch because I have no memory of all the actors I’d recognize now!

James Sykora

Not me rushing over here to be like, “actually, there’s no character called ‘Doctor Who.’ Their name is ‘The Doctor.’”

Andy Germuga

If anyone is interested in the incongruous movies that played at Cannes, might I recommend the Cannes Blockbusters Juries of my own podcast, Cannes I Kick It? We did the 2010s back to the 80s, each decade getting a mock jury to give Cannes Prizes to out of comp blockbusters, and they are a lot of fun.

Chauncey Telese

All that Bradford talk and no clockstopper or John tucker must die. Also it's so funny how dismissive they both are with mainstream comedies.

Robert Anton

Me, sitting back waiting for the boys to discover that yes, they made My Father the Hero and only a few years later said, “that was so good, let’s do it again!” 😬🫣

Faith Hicks

Chris calling Eldrond "Elrod" made me laugh so hard.

Xorp

My Boyfriend's Back is pretty good. OG monsterfucker cinema

Clint

i remember seeing “ocean’s thirteen” twice opening weekend when i was in high school, first with friends and then with my parents. even then, i knew it was noteworthy that it was a crowd pleaser with both age demographics…man, soderbergh rules.

Paige Gray

I totally saw "My Father, the Hero" in theaters. I had completely forgotten the plot, which, ew.

John Ananias

MY BOYFRIEND'S BACK is quintessential "exists only as a trailer on a VHS trailer roll" for me - I believe it was in the post-film batch on the first HOCUS POCUS release. Honestly, seems like it could be fun and maybe I should watch the actual picture someday.

Juliana A

Chris is 100% correct that "Fly Away Home" is the champagne of animal movies. Will not tolerate this "Beethoven" erasure though! 😆
