Movies that exist only as a title? Examples, Garys?

I ALWAYS confuse this movie with Reservation Road which is ALSO 2007 and about people being sad and then Revolutionary Road came out the next year and was about people being sad (but I remember that one bc Titanic triple reunion with Leo/Kate/Kathy Bates)

I actually fully agree with the point made that American Exceptionalism goes both ways, people who listen to this podcast definitely don't engage in the rah rah nonsense BUT we're also not inherently worse than Europe, as they said (yes, even now, look up the far right nonsense over there, the TERFs etc, and try being a person of color in Europe as I have been, not great Bob)

Literally gasped with excitement when you announced you’re doing Interview with the Vampire. Highlight of my Monday morning 🙏🏼

An odd little cluster of James Bond connections leap to my mind with this one: The two Oscar-winning headliners had both done Bond movies (Del Toro is really good in LICENCE TO KILL, a movie I don't love, but there are high points; Berry won her Oscar while in production on DIE ANOTHER DAY) and Susanne Bier was talked about as a potential director - I don't know how close she was - for what ended up being NO TIME TO DIE. Anyway, I have never seen this movie but I remembered that font without having to go look at the poster...and that's just a recollection that's serving me.

The Rendition “theme” always gets me lol

Recovering X-Phile and Duchovny obsessive here. I saw TWLITF in a movie theater. I paid actual money to see it. Just like every single other movie he was in during that time. The mediocrity of that era is truly astounding. On a related note, I’m looking forward to your episode on The Joneses for Demi, Myself, and I!

dead at y’all randomly taking it to a place of “homeless not toothless” less than ten minutes in 🤭

Clint

this movie having a wide release is WILD. i somehow had always assumed/misremembered it having a (no doubt muted) tiff premiere…

Liam Gallagher

Need to hear weekly …And Just Like That reactions I fear.

Carrie Williams

Things to do in Denver when you’re dead.

Snow White Oscars! I knew Eileen Bowman (Snow White) in college and cannot wait to relive the total gobsmacked horror we all felt as we watched the show.

Movies that only exist as titles: the first one I thought of was White Bird in a Blizzard, which I haven’t even seen. Funny that the Wonder prequel has a similar name.

Liesl

I was very amused by your discussion of White Bird, a movie I thought would never come out. I read Wonder and that book to my son; the connection between the two is tenuous with a wild tone shift from one to the other.

Posted about 'films that only exist as titles' in the THOB subreddit (!) aaages ago. Here are some of my top ones: - Celeste and Jesse Forever - Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - Infinitely Polar Bear - Ballistic: Ecks Vs Sever - The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out a Window - The Englishman Who Went up a Hill but Came down a Mountain

Jennifer (Madame) Webb

I hadn’t really looked into it, but this episode is the first time I realized Alan Carr and Allan Carr weren’t the same person 😂

Will add: - Lesbian Vampire Killers - The Art of Racing in the Rain - Eight Heads in a Duffel Bag - Rancid Aluminium
