The Celine discourse!!! As someone who took French from middle school to college and my middle school French teacher used Celine songs to teach/expose us to French as we came into the room each day, it made me so happy! Pour que tu m’aimes encore is a true classic and you have taste!!! RIP to adult contemporary as a genre/radio station format which is why Celine was monoculture (besides Titanic of course).

Mon dieu! I was also going to call in and ask Chris a question about Celine Dion, specifically about how she's the best part of the god awful "Love Again". I love her always as she was my first concert. My sainted father (who is very much not a fan) took me to the Colour of My Love tour for my 11th birthday. We sat behind very loud and drunk French Canadian women who screamed "We love you SAY-Line!" all night and it was perfect. Edited to add: The Patti LaBelle song that Joe was thinking of is "If You Asked Me To"

Omg it’s meee, Christina from Cape Cod. Thank you for answering! Hugely exciting and informative! Love you both

Also concur with Chris, Joe needs to be a Gold Derby expert.

Well now I want to know if Chris or Joe has seen Titanique

Celine is very "90s/00s VH1 Culture" to me, which is why she's sort of drifted out of the culture a bit, as that doesn't exist anymore. I unironically love her, but I don't take her too seriously, which I think is perfectly her.

My husband has been trying to explain odds to me for 17 years, and I always just glaze over. Thank you, Joe and Chris, for finally explaining in a way I can understand. I feel like I’ve learned enough for 2024 already.
