i watched this when it came out and did not make the connection when i started watching his man 4 omg this really adds to the vibes tbh... i remember when i first watched being like oh man this maruz convo is so dating show how come this one isn't the last convo and then the friggin leaderz scene was just... insane. i love nicojoo but tbh any combination of the hyungline really does it for me and this leaderz moment was really.... good.

Okay Ship Talk: so it's weird bc when i think of "govt ships" i think of the ones who the company pushes for fanservice—that's what it used to mean IMO? but nowadays people use "govt ships" to mean like... most popular fandom ships? bc also IMO &team hasn't really had a lot of fanservice-y promos for ships. there are more recently bc korean shows do it more than japanese shows from what i've noticed. so like... i GUESS i'd consider nicojoo a "govt ship" because they've had like "ship"-y promos together, and this promotion cycle has had a bunch of harumaki ship promo content. it's also interesting because kjo/jok is a HUGE ship in korea and japan, but not really with int'll fans. but there are rankings on the big korean fanart platform like every month of which ships are the most popular on their platform, and it's usually nicojoo and kjo at the top but they also like harumaki. anyhow... i have many thoughts on the lune ship fandom as a fanfic writer myself who has written for many fandoms, but i will stop there lmao

Just to quickly answer your question about the BGM in the serious talks, a few songs they used are from ExChange and are used to set a certain tone for the interactions (confession, showing interest, etc.) in the show so that's what the members were referencing when they pointed it out with EJ and Fuma

Yeah, it's kind of wild seeing Kuma rank lower than JoK on their rankings, but they really go wild for them over there. You can tell the company knows about it because JoK had that duet stage together where it looks like they got married, and they recently did that tiktok where Jo "confessed" to K by giving him his second coat button. Shipping may be universal, but you truly never know what ship is going to inspire a nation lol
