idk how it works in thailand but where i live, during the school hours, the teachers are basically responsible for the students. so if he's letting them just leave and especially leave the school grounds, he (and maybe miss jan since she's the other homeroom teacher) could be liable if anything happened to them?

I sincerely urge anyone who loves this show to watch the original too, because as much as I adore SaintShin - and yes, this version definitely goes all in on the "bromance" - School 2013 is SUCH a wonderful, well-rounded show too. It really fleshes out all the supporting characters, teachers and students alike (though tbf the Chadjen character is much more important in this version), is a little more grounded and realistic (my petty bugbear with HSF is how empty the school/classroom always seems to be - where's everyone else??), and was genuinely interested in taking a serious look at the societal and systemic problems affecting the education system and those caught up in it. The build-up to the backstory break-up reveal is perfect, and though their relationship may be a little more...subtle(!), let's just say there's a good reason everyone went crazy for Namsoon/Heungsoo when it came out (and also a good reason it was nominated for/won a bunch of awards). Of course there are definitely strengths and weaknesses to both, and I love so much about HSF, but I just believe in giving the OGs their flowers!

all of this!! i did the math back when hsf aired and tbf school 2013 had like 4-ish more hours to do what they did but what i really loved about it was the way the whole class felt alive! i feel like this class 2 has only actors who have capital R Roles while the original had a whole slew of people who were allowed to just exist in the bg. which of course might have to do with budget etc but man, yeah. school 2013 is so good.

the merge is probably a bad thing irl but it is so true to what happens in education. those furthest away from the students making decisions everyone else thinks is crazy or that will cause lots of stress and mess. then when teachers etc. somehow make it work/do all the hard work, the higher ups get the praise and recognition (and money). here ends my ted talk.
