Really happy that you are starting to enjoy The Smiths! The Queen Is Dead is their equivalent to Morning Glory so I am excited for that reaction. You might want to consider reacting to Hatful of Hollow and The World Won't Listen in addition to the albums. They are two compilations that collect stand-alone singles and b-sides, similar to The Masterplan for Oasis, and some of their best and most iconic material is found on them. If you wanna go in order you would listen to Hatful of Hollow next before The Queen Is Dead and The World Won't Listen would be after that album. Although these compilations also feature a lot of repeats of album tracks from the first two records, so if you want I can make a spotify playlist of all of the original tracks that you'll be missing if you only hear the albums. Just to put into prespective, three of the top 5 Smiths tracks on Spotify do not appear on any albums.

RIP Andy rouoke their bassist

Great album, the best is still to come on all the remaining albums. I actually really think Meat is Murder (the track) is incredible sounding but yeah I can never pull myself round to saving it to a playlist as I just don't wanna hear about it, the headmaster ritual and well i wonder are my faves here

It's interesting because the general consensus on this album has always been that it's a step down from the debut. I think you're going to love The Queen is Dead.

Dan Hartzog

Yeah, they're another band that has amazing non-album tracks.

What happened to Dig Out Your Soul?

Esnupi

Not me. I much prefer this album to the debut.

Thomas Blacka

Even tho I do love the debut I would probably rank it the lowest out of the main 4 albums just due to its inconsistency of quality between songs

How did ”Well I wonder” go from A to generational classic?
