I would stick with the mono mixes up until Revolver, which got an excellent remix by Giles Martin in 2022. The Beatles were very involved in the mono mixing, but left the stereo mixing to others, and much less thought was put into it. At the time, stereo was a niche format, and the Beatles didn't really care about those mixes. The last couple albums are the only ones that were meant to be heard in stereo, as the format had become more prominent by the late 60s. The stereo mixes of the earlier albums just don't have the same punch. The Beatles didn't like the stereo mixes either. George Harrison said "When they invented stereo, I remember thinking 'Why? What do you want two speakers for?', because it ruined the sound from our point of view. You know, we had everything coming out of one speaker; now it had to come out of two speakers. It sounded like ... very ... naked." John Lennon also thought the stereo mixes didn't do the heavier songs justice. About his song Revolution, he said: "The fast version was destroyed. It was a heavy record, but the stereo mix made it into a piece of ice-cream." Giles Martin has been going back and creating better stereo mixes, which are available on the Red and Blue compilations, but he's not remixed any of the full albums prior to Revolver, though a new mix of Rubber Soul is apparently in the works, and there's no doubt he'll get to them all eventually.
