Ms knoppe goes to Washington is a play on the famous movie title "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington"

Sledted

In the US the title Ms. was generally seen as a more professional title whether the woman was married or not. Kind of a “none of your business” vibe. Also I think it matches better with “Mr. Smith goes to Washington” than Miss would.

That was John McCain lol

John McCain was the guy in the coat room. He was a highly respected Republican Senator who went up against Obama in 2008 to become President after George W Bush. Partisan politics aside he was generally high respected and somewhat notable figure in American politics until his death in 2018. You might remember his less than stellar running mate Sarah Palin , a serious miscalculation popularised in later day US politics today.

Good eye on spotting John McCain!

Kirsten Stewart

Leslie and Ben are probably my favourite sitcom couple - love how supportive they are of each other’s careers, dreams etc.

'Back to the Future III', the one set in 19th-century Wild West, does heavily feature a train, the other two don't. I presumed the multitude of Pawnees was just for the joke, but it really is the case! Wiki says: "Pawnee is also the name of several places in the United States: Pawnee, Illinois Pawnee, Kansas Pawnee, Missouri Pawnee City, Nebraska Pawnee, Ohio Pawnee, Oklahoma Pawnee, Texas Pawnee National Grassland, Colorado" No Pawnee, Indiana though, which IS fictional.

Sarah Palin was brilliantly played by Tina Fey on SNL, which DN should watch as a Best of SNL viewing.
