Sunday sketches (aka "the old claret jug") (Patreon)
Content
The sketch file from early in the year is pretty slim, I was ready to recharge. But some fun little drawings still happened, and here are a few of them. I say a few, there are more than fifty compiled for your Sunday amusement. An embarrassment of riches! I know I'm embarrassed.
The suitcase sequence proved to be unneeded for the Christmas Special storyline. The suitcase was to be Shelley's holiday gift to Lottie. It contained exclusively MacGuffins. Kid Kool was related to the MacGuffins but don't ask me how, that's a meaningless plot driver even I can't unpick. EXTREMELY DEEP BREATH.
Here's an afternoon's drawings concerning long-gone Bad Machinery character Colm. I had a think what he might be up to, and decided the answer was "fighting bastards in Ireland". There is no need to investigate further. Lottie is too relaxed to investigate, busy as she is with her knickerbocker glory. Summers by the sea!

Here's where I first considered the little Bad Machinery mini-reunion. I drew this while watching a Youtube video where an older gentleman shows the viewer how to go on a "writer's retreat" by sitting in a small hotel room in France and consuming a lot of wine. It was hard to work out how much writing he got done but if wine was words he brought home War & Peace. I don't know why I watched it but it was about half an hour long.
There was also no room for Shauna's waitressing. I think she's still selling her sponcon freebies for income.
A few drawings related to Worshipful Company of Solvers which, as discussed, is not a series anyone is ever going to get to read but certainly proved a fun diversion in various sketchbooks for several weeks. This is but a taster - I'm sure I can dig out more from my paper sketchbooks. One for another day.
