So I decided not to show any of the speeches of the other candidates because I'm having to stay very conscious of my page count. There is SOOOOO much story in this final volume. So many things are going to happen! And so I can't afford to waste pages if I can help it. So sadly we don't get to see any of the other speeches. But I think we can safely assume none of them are as good as Charlie's :)

I love how much passing time from panel to panel is shown just by Charlie’s blink - it really shows how nervous he is that 3 whole speeches have passed in what felt like a second for him

Not an artist obviously, but overlapping or tighter panels might help convey the anxiety feelings? Like just sound bits and closeups of mouths and eyes clustered could be really impactful for this and make a fuller looking page

Schools use lots of different themes for house names. I live in Wales so our school used Welsh rulers. Llewellyn, Owain Glyndwr, Caradog and Hywel Dda.

Charlie is doing so well concentrating and staying calm. I can hear the deep breaths on the third panel. His body and brain must be in such an enormous fight-or-flight-mode, but he’s coping so well! I’m so excited about the speech, can’t wait!

How is it that you are able to draw an extreme close up view of closed eyes that make us all take a deep breath with (and for!) Charlie?! I mean, it’s like we are right there with him (you’ve got this, Charlie! You are ready!! Breathe. You can do hard things! Look for Nick in the audience. Breathe)🥹 And that last panel, with the 3 empty chairs and only Charlie remaining, really emphasizes that winning Head Student is all on him now. His journey has led him to this very moment…(breathe)❤️‍🩹❤️

Aww I love this! Such a big build up! Charlie has adapted to his mental health and grown such strength in regards to realising his potential and that he does have an amazing support network behind him. That's so strong when it comes to managing how you feel about yourself. I know that feeling far too well myself. I remember I tried to do this for head girl and I broke down crying in front of whole year... I don't think Charlie will have that same fate!

Don't even worry about it, Alice! In this part of the novella, we have been seeing Nick's pov, and let's be honest, he is not going to remember what anyone else said! 🫢🤣 I am sure all the boys did good speeches, but Charlie's has to be the best- a drummer, who is good at Maths AND the Classics, signed up for the Rugby team, keeps to himself but can stun any bully into silence by his quick wit and most of all, has an army of friends to ride or die for him!...I mean come on!! It is a no contest! 🥹❤️ Also, these are just the qualities that people who don't know him can see. Those that know Charlie, know what a caring, loving and strong willed person he is. Even his bullies seek his approval! And Nick knows how Charlie never shies away from a fight- whether it is in Mario Kart or fight for the pillow cushion in Nick's bedroom 🤣😂

Alice is aware, Netflix shared a formal comment with press, they’re copyright striking posts and taking them down. The most helpful thing we can do as fans is let Netflix handle it, and not draw more attention to leaks by talking about them online… because that just makes more people aware that they exist and likely to seek them out and spread them further. This is almost certainly why no one working on Heartstopper has said anything about this publicly. It just makes things worse!

My take on this is that Charlie is not being overwhelmed by anxiety. The four straight panels of the last page act like four thudding heartbeats as he steps out on stage, and the relative rigidity of the panels on this page convey sort of a steady building anticipation rather than anxiety. I agree that overlapping panels would convey anxiety, but think that technique would be saved for when Charlie is feeling overwhelmed, and I think he’s feeling strength and conviction at this time.

Oh I went back and looked in order, that does fit and make sense. I was more so meaning Alice's caption stating there was limited space and methods to fit more in, but you're right on the flow and general vibeI still think that closed eyes and an inhale would work to break the bottom of a page more crowded at top.

If you happen to see anything you can report it for spam, but I wouldn’t bother looking for stuff, especially if you want to avoid spoilers! Netflix has said they’re taking this seriously, it sounds like stuff is getting copyright striked. Best thing we can do is just let this die down. You also might want to filter Heartstopper related terms on TikTok, if you’re on it. I did that immediately (and muted it on Twitter too) and thankfully haven’t seen any spoilers!
