argh so many people! i know he's held a few concerts with queer intentions (and with the school orchestra) but playing an instrument with a whole band is not at all the same as holding a long speech all by yourself (at least that's how i feel haha maybe charlie is different)

I rarely have strong wishes for this comic and like to let it go wherever it goes without any strong desire, but I really hope we get the whole speech. This is such a monumental moment for Charlie, honestly even more so than when he felt brave enough to take off his shirt in front of Nick. He’s fully found his voice after all the bullying and the sh*t with B*n. I really want to see him knock it out of the park, and I feel like he will! ❤️❤️❤️

This page is amazing! It speaks volumes without saying a word. Seeing the crowd lets us know what Charlie is seeing and I’m nervous for him. Then we see how nervous Nick, Tori, Tao and Aled are for him. I love that you added that creak. I can hear it, a quiet room then that. My tension went up. Really great page!

There is something so satisfying and also so momentous about that last panel's CREAK🥹...we've seen Charlie overcoming his "am I good enough, is my speech Head Student worthy enough, am I actually effing about to do this" anxieties. Now, he has just watched 3 other candidates present (with at least one dripping with smugness!), and and despite the inevitable butterflies in his stomach that such a large audience provokes (btw that first panel is really well done...damn! It was so needed though, for us to feel the gravity of what Charlie is feeling...thank you, Alice❤️), what does Charlie do? He takes charge and takes a pause to put himself in a commanding, comfortable position by adjusting the microphone to fit where he is. (No standing on toes to reach or slouching down to "fit" the other boys now...). THAT, to me, is a beautiful sign of a confident and empowered budding leader. Charlie Spring knows who he is, what he is about, who he loves, and he is about to speak!

To be fair, Leila is surrounded by VERY tall people in the show! Will is 1.9m, Kit is 1.8m, Yasmin is 1.8m… Leila is 1.5m. Contrast is high!
