every time a page is posted of his speech the first thing that comes to mind is “i’m so proud of him” because i really really am. i’m an introvert, and of similar personality to charlie and i would never have the guts to do something like this. he is going to make such a big difference at truham, and i think everyone in the audience knows that he’s the right choice. i’m so so sooo proud of him always

What i love about this moment is that it highlights that whatever our differences might be, it can be used to help the wider community. Charlie being gay meant he was a target for a lot of ignorant people. But the beauty in that, is the fact that he could call out and create a community that protects the unprotected.

The big inhale. I love how breath is such a big part of the scene. I am struck anew by the parallels to Jane Austen and her “little bit (two inches wide) of Ivory on which I work with so fine a Brush”. Every word and every line add to the storytelling, every element creates a mood and grows the story.

When I was a kid, bullying culture was considered by my teachers to be both normal and acceptable. Even now, one wonders how Charlie could have been the subject of such abuse for so long without any adult seeing it and saying "stop." It's heartbreaking that he had to finally go to Mr. Ajayi to get help, and that he had been placed in the care of adults who had so utterly failed him.

Brilliant but don't know what to make of Nick's face. He looks worried but not sure why. I would expect him to be cheerful ready to support his boyfriend but may be he is thinking again of what Charlie experienced. Oddly Charlie hates honesty , so would he have taken advantage of the facilities he wants to provide had they been available. I'm realising more and more that Charlie really is a complex character. I definitely wish that Alice would take them through uni and beyond. So many of us feel Nick and Charlie are our friends and want to know how they get on!!

I love how Charlie chooses to say, "I want...." to enact these changes instead of "I will..." He knows that empty campaign promises of "I will" can cause hurt when they fall through, leaving students feeling unsupported and overlooked. I suspect he knows that it is going to require a COLLECTIVE EFFORT between the administration, teachers, and (hopefully a majority!) of students to build his vision for a better, safer, more welcoming, and inclusive school space. Charlie has a well thought out plan that has the potential to make Truham a school where kindness, respectfulness, and emotional intelligence can thrive. I feel like Nick...I'm just in awe, Charlie❤️❤️‍🩹

that's a big goal, but an awesome one, and I'm sure he can do it if he gets the support he needs (which I'm sure he will! not only does he have all his fellow sixth former friends, but the younger students will definitely vote for him as well) did Charlie (and elle) also have the art room to go to for safety in the comics, or is that a show only thing? either way it will definitely be beneficial for the students to have older students to talk to, and one can never have too many safe places!

Yes Charlie!!! 👏👏👏 And this is so doable. I actually worked in a schools programme that made this happen, it takes a very small amount of funding, for an absolutely huge result, and a result that causes life long thriving, rather than life long mental harms. I hope people take this seriously and know it's possible, real and doable. It just takes a small amount of leadership from principles and a few core teachers to manage it along with elected senior students. It's a point of pride for them. The benefits are so outstanding, and totally researched and verified. Look anywhere at anti bullying stats and you will see the pattern of health from things like this ❤️🙏 it's very real

I think it's honest. These things have real impact and it's ok to be honest about that ❤️ Being earnest isn't cool for some types of people, especially for people who don't want to admit how life really honestly is for them... but I think those same people dont realise that honesty goes hand in hand with a fun and joyful life.. moments of seriousness to take care of real business is nothing but good, and then your free to move on to the fun bits again. If you don't take care of the real stuff and just numb and pretend to be cool all the time, your also inevitably numbing yourself to the love and the good stuff because everything stays shallow.. it's part of becoming an adult, to learn to tolerate sincere conversations without rolling your eyes.. and ultimately people just feel good around honest authentic and free people, we instinctively know we can trust them. I love heartstoppers sincerity 💖 it means alot to me 😊
