An outcome that nobody saw coming!

Btw, the blonde guy sitting next to Charlie isn't Nick! I know they have the same colour hair and a similar build... perhaps I should change the hair colour 🤔

Jay

OUR HEAD BOY! 🥺👏🏼

Jo-Ann

GO CHARLIE ❤️

gamma_wow

It didn't even occur to me to consider that that was Nick! He would not be yawning!!! I assumed it was another candidate, who clearly didn't really care about it...

Charlie

I don’t think it looks like Nick at all. And he certainly wouldn’t be yawning! I don’t think you need to change it. 🥰

Olivia

WOOHOO CHARLIE🥳🥳🥳

Jay Rose

Yasss go Char! We love you!

Ben

That other guy could care less!

Merel

Who would've guessed! /j No but genuinely I'm so proud of Charlie. I know he's a fictional character but we've been with him on this whole journey and I couldn't be happier for him 🥹

Mae

YESSS CHARLIE

Loveislove

Woo hoo, indeed! 🥳...and omfg with the knob to the right.

Jo Mary

Yay Charlie x

Rebecca

The fear that Alice was playing us all and it wasn’t going to be Charlie - plot twist of the century 🙃

Barb

I feel such a pride in my chest right now, like I was also there, clapping with happiness☺️👍🏻😁

Roarrrry

Wwoooooo go Charlie!!!

BEL

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 (not that we are at all surprised)

Eileen

Doesn't look like Nick. No need to change it. :p

Tina

so funny that people think it's nick i didn't think he looked like nick at ALL

Bec

Very definitely not Nick. Not only the yawn…we would just recognise Nick anywhere 💜

Chris Mackenzie

Alice, so the guy on Charlie’s left in this slide is the same guy that was on Charlie’s left on the previous slide?

Barb

I never thought the boy next to charlie is nick ... he doesn't even radiate nick's inner warmth

Nikki

Never even crossed my mind that guy was Nick… IMO looks nothing like him 🙈

Nikki

But YAYYYY Charlie Head Boy 🧍‍♂️

Carina

I don’t think the guy next to Charlie looks like Nick at all so I’m sure you’d be fine leaving it as is 😊

NotSoYoung

Yes Charlie!!! That guy doesn't look like Nick at all...and Nick wouldn't ever be bored in this situation...

Gemma 🍂💙💛

I don’t think you need to change the hair colour - I think it’s clear that the boys sat there are the nominees. Also Charlie! 😱 what a surprise! 🤗🤗

DogBefriender22

I don't think you need to change that guy's hair colour (a) it doesn't really look like Nick (b) Nick would be looking anxious, not yawning, just as they were about to announce the winner, and (c) he would be sitting MUCH closer to Charlie - that gap between them does not look like a Charlie-Nick sized gap to me! :)

Lisa

Yay Charlie ! We never doubted you for 1 second ! 👏

Claudine

Look at that boy yawning, he was probably sure it was going to be him! But no, no, no, Charlie wiped the floor with this dude 😬 He did it so well 🥰✨

Ana Thais Vargas

Ppl who thinks that guy is Nick are not paying attention to the story!

SoraNoRyu

Context makes it pretty clear the guy sitting next to Charlie isn't Nick (has to be a headboy candidate, the jawning and general energy...) but given that his size, body type and haircut are all very similar, giving him a different hair color might still help if the similarity bothers you.

Sarah Jacobs

Yes Charlie!!!!!!!! We knew you had it in you!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️🍂 How amazing!!!!

Kayleigh Clarke

Yeah I didn’t think he was Nick! Well done Charlie 🥰

Emma

Look at his little surprised face 🥹🥰

Hannah Moseley

I don’t think you need to change the guy sitting next to Charlie - I think you can clearly tell the difference between him and Nick despite the hair colour!

Krystyn

Well done Charlie! ✨✨✨✨✨✨ The blond guy will stop yawning fast! By the way Alice, it is clear that this guy isn’t Nick, (apart from the fact that the attitude is very un-Nick) the nose is different, it’s not Nick’s straight nose, the haircut is not exactly the same. And he seems smaller and not as well-built as Nick.

Claire

Yay -- we knew it Charlie -- Head Student. I love the audience / voters being very pleased and supportive. I agree with others - I doubt many readers will think that yawning guy is Nick. It has been clear (to me) that he is the other smug (now loosing) candidate.

Robby C

👏🎉🤗

Katie H

Charlie's surprised face 🥹

Christie

Woo hoo 🎉💜

Noemiette

I quite like that we went through the campaign really fast (while still seeing bits of it) and the focus will be more on what he does as head boy

aliceoseman
>>147154000

I'm glad you think so! I felt that there was no point dragging it out for ages, seeing as lots of people already know that he was going to win (as he is head boy in the N&C novella!)

erica streeter

I didn’t think that was Nick AT ALL! Perfectly fine to keep it!

Jo S

So much love for the person Charlie is! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 The hope this gives for the other students and the school culture ☺️ Go Charlie and make a difference!! (Btw Alice - nothing like Nick!!) ❤️❤️

Ania W.

The guy doesn't look or act like Nick at all. You don't need to make any changes 😉

ValkyrionSS

Inb4 Yawning Blondie claims it was a bigly rigged election and gets his friends to storm the headmaster's office

Harriet Echo

Charlie, his shocked/humble expression, he’s just so wonderful! I can’t wait to read what he does as head boy! We all wish we had a Charlie in sixth form 🥹💜

K Lyn

I don’t think he looks like Nick at all. And that’s our boy. Go CHARLIE ❤️

raina

so proud of you, charlie! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Beth Yoshida

Yeeeee!!!!! Obv we knew he'd win but still love it!!!!

Allegra2346

Why do I feel like all the lights are going to dim and Nick’s going to be stood in middle of the crowd singing Charlie’s name like Gabriella does to Troy in high school musical

Jele

Yippieeeee

lia

GO CHARLIE💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Allegra2346

Hey Alice, do the stars represent passion in general? I know they pop up in intimate moments but seeing them pop up here makes me wonder if it’s a bit deeper than that?

Tiffany L

No one thinks that’s Nick. Nick would NEVER.

eva cuervo

I don't think you have to change anything, Alice. He is perfect as he is: the typical boy with good looks who thinks he is better than everyone else.

ACxo

YES CHARLIE!

Brittney

Our boy did it!! Yes Charlie!! 👏👏👏

Noemiette
>>147154000

That's exactly it. We know the outcome and we've seen elections plots so many times in medias, it wasnt necessary here

Simone

I’m waiting for the blonde guys reaction next 👀 he really thought he had it in the bag

Claudine Newman

I don’t think you need to change their hair. It’s obviously not Nick. Nick isn’t the only kid at the school with blonde hair and he isn’t running for head boy so wouldn’t be there next to Charlie. You don’t need to add any more work to your massive workload. Leave it as it is.

Claudine Newman
>>147154462

Those are not the same stars as the ones that appear between Nick and Charlie. Different meaning.

Ava

🥳🥳🥳

Kristen

Yay Charlie!!! I think it’s obviously not Nick, I don’t think you need to change it…but you need to do what feels right to you! 🍂❤️

Loveislove

Is there an acceptance speech now? Wonder if Nick, Tori, Paris Squad, Mr. Farouk etc get shout outs

aliceoseman
>>147154462

Yes if you look closer, you'll see that these stars are a bit different to the 'horny sparkles' (named that way by the readers, I take no credit lol). These stars are new :)

Allegra2346
>>147154462

Ahh I see! Thanks for the clarification!! Obsessed with the name horny sparkles btw lmaoooo

Robert

I so wish that this would be series 4 but I don't think we will get that.

Robert

I so wish that this would be series 4 but I don't think we will get that.

Faye

I can’t wait to see the look on the guys faces

CinD

Yes Charlie enough people paid attention and actually cared about what you said 😭🥹

springy

look at his little surprised face as if he didn’t have the best speech and the best morals 🥰🥰

Ashley Robinson

I love he has his sweater back. And those seem to be confidence stars. 🥹

Bela Francoeur-Schug
>>147153812

Yeah I had a second look when I first saw him, and I thought he looked similar in some ways but clearly different than Nick, especially with that smug look on his face!

Diana N

Nick would never be yawning during such an important moment for Charlie. Plus he looks chubbier than Nick. You’re good. I can’t wait to see Nick give Charlie a congratulations hug and hopefully a kiss. Charlie looks stunned. He’s such a sweetheart ❤️

Lauri

🎉🎉🎉 our head boy Charlie.! I guess “Nick and Charlie novela” content is coming… I’m dying to see how Alice represents it 🥰

Lauri

That guy doesn’t look like Nick at all 😅… I mean, even the attitude

Chloe ♡

yes charlie! he will be the best head boy truham has ever had

Darling

CONGRATS CHARLIEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Chloe ♡

the guy on charlie’s left really thought he had it lmaooo

Alissa Gren

We all knew this would happen, but Mr Farouk didn’t know this would happen. I am gonna cry when we see him find out. I am ready for a teacher moment!

EllieRLM

YAY CHARLIIIIIIE !!!

Arah!☆

YAY CHARLIE YIPPIE

Evergreen

I love that the crowd is less faceless now! Nervousness distorts our perceptions so much. Turns out it’s just a crowd full of humans after all!

Beam Bugge

cue all the surprised pikachu faces

Taco

Maybe give him curly hair?

Heather N.

I’m loving these new stars!

Nyssa Rawther 🍉

YEAHHHHH!!!! GO CHARLIEEEEE!!! I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳 and I know they voted for him so they'd be cheering but look at all those happy faces in the crowd!!! 🥺🥺🥺 Charlie deserves this so much (and not the Ben wannabe yawning next to him)

Robert

The look of amazement on Charlie's face is brilliant. How is Nick going to react? Perhaps Charlie will put Nick, Harry, Tao & Alex in detention Lol

Mara

YEAHHHHHHHHH

He probably had the cookies strategy and thought he had it in the bag.

Jazmine Terson

YEAHHHHHHH CHARLIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

CHARLIEEE WE KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!!!!!!🥳💕 So proud of him🥹🥹

boombroadcast

A love the stars as a new motif! Because Charlie is a star!! ⭐️ Bless him he looks so stunned. 💕 Mr. Farouk must feel so vindicated! I imagine he’s doing the Mr. Farouk equivalent of whooping and hollering out there.

angelicaaa

YESSSS CHARLIEE I KNEW HE WOULD WIN

Ele79

Charlie🎉🎉🎉

Murgy

Charlie seems to be amazed that enough people would vote for him, even though he is the best candidate, especially after that speech.

Adri Jimenez✨

I'M SO PROUD OF MY BABY CHARLIE 😍😍😍😍😍

Kirsten
>>147162367

Would that be silently air-punching when no one is looking and otherwise smiling slightly? 🤔

Scott Whittall

Charlie's expression is priceless. It's a mix of Oh Fuck!, Seriously??, and Wow I did it, I really did it!! BTW, never thought the smug bored lad on Char's left could be Nick. TBH, at first I thought it could be Harry and how much fun that would be to have Charlie win over Harry. LOL

Audrina

No worries Alice, it was perfectly clear to me that the boy next to Charlie isn't Nick... different haircut, different attitude... and there'd also be no reason for Nick to be on stage, I think? So personally it doesnt shock me at all! And CONGRATS CHARLIE!!

Katie🐝

Even though I knew he would win, it’s still so emotional to see the moment that HE knows it. I’m so excited to see him step into this role with newfound confidence and validation that he has always been good enough. Ugh I just love him so much 🥹

S S
>>147154462

The ones in volume 5 between n+c are 4 point sparkles ✨, the ones on these last few pages are 5 point stars like ⭐, so they are different symbols

Ana Alicia Aranda De Contreras

omg I did it my beautiful baby I did it I love you Charlie you will be a great head boy 🥰💗🥺

Anna Deligio

You don't have to change the hair color. Anyone who has gotten to book 6 of this series knows Nicolas Nelson would not be yawning and looking bored as Charlie Spring (sitting right next to him with no lightning bolts, hearts, or anything between them) is on the edge of a big moment. :)

Gregory Toner

I would love it if Yawning boy is the boy Charlie ends up making cry 😭 🤭

S

I sense a Nick Nelson congratulations hug coming 👀

camelotcrusade

Hooray for Charlie! And if you want to differentiate the boy, Alice, maybe give him glasses. 👓

Andrea

Wooohooo 🥳🥳

David C Witkin

Our Charlie: looking like a deer in the headlights

Idaemilie

🥳 Charlie I look forward to seeing you work as head boy 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 you will do great!

Jennifer Paddock

Yay, Charlie! ❤️❤️❤️ P.S. I'm not usually one for this kind of thing but I kinda wanted to see Yawn!Boy's reaction. I picture him rising slightly, getting ready to stand up, and then dropping back in to his chair when it sinks in that his name wasn't called. *snigger* P.P.S. Alice - I don't think anyone would thin Yawn!Boy is Nick, especially not with his smirk on the page prior right there on the page before. 👍 You're good!

Shrimpy

AWWWWWWWWWWW HE LOOKS SO SHOCKED AND HAPPY

Skylar

I literally knew like I've read the novellas but I still got chills seeing this

ally

SO PROUD IM TRULY GONNA CRY

Cliff

Where is Mr. Farouk?

Shanie_MC

Charlie looks so surprised, but nobody else is! We knew the outcome but it's been beautiful to watch how he got there.

Bayani

Woohoo! Yay Charlie!

rickettyuncles

I could never mistake that guy for Nick…

Sulagna Maitra

I love that Charlie is constantly surprised by his own success even though he is literally the coolest and kindest person ever!! 😂 He should listen to Nick more!

Beam Bugge
>>147170350

it's been awhile since i read the novella but wasn't it a younger student that he made cry?

RCM

I love the way that the background behind Charlie in the center of this page is all washed out…it really stresses the importance of this OMG it’s happening! moment of Charlie Spring being elected Head Student. And even though his past and all of those memories (the good ones and the hard, dark ones) contributed to his desire to campaign, the way our eyes are drawn to just Charlie here suggests he is so able and ready (once he takes a microsecond to process that he actually won!) to focus on moving FORWARD, to making change, to helping others feel and be safe and accepted. And, the new stars are the perfect design to reflect Charlie’s win and entrance into his new era…they are like welcoming beacons of hope and inspiration, just like Charlie is (and all of the smiling faces in the audience see those stars too🥹❤️‍🩹)!

Gracie Bou

I’ve become fascinated with that arrogant prick in the background

Andrew Pitonack

I love this, Charlie has come a long way since we first met him. What a way to have his confidence boosted even more. Great boyfriend, supportive friends and now this 🥹. Makes me Happy!

Jonathan Payne

Alice, I don’t think you need to change anything about the boy who looks like Nick. I know I wasn’t the only one commented, thinking it was him, but I personally didn’t look at the context clues in the panel. The burden is on me for the mistake. You are a gifted author and artist. It is your story to tell and illustrate. Do what you think is right!! Lots of love 🥰 🥰

Flor D. la Peña🍂

I just love that the guy next to Charlie was so confident about winning 🤣🤣🤣

ucfnurse

Charlie’s in an adorable state of shock!!!☺️😊🙃🤭🫠💞🌷💥⚡️💯🎶🎵🗽✌️🕊️☮️

CarrieLuvs

Awwww, it's so adorable how surprised he looks, lol.🥹 The final panel feels like a deliberate parallel to the times Alice has shown Charlie surrounded by his bullies: a crowd of indistinguishable faces, but where the bullies were larger than life and menacing, now Charlie is the one physically dominating the panel. And rather than harassing and making him feel small, everyone is cheering and supporting him. 🥰 What an amazing moment for him!!

Malfuric

Actually, he doesn’t look like Nick to me at all. Don’t change a thing about the panel.

Ariel

YESSSSSS🥰🥰

Malcolm Grant
>>147209656

If he was older he no doubt would have been one of Nick’s ‘friends’ before he met Charlie. He’s another Harry who has coasted through life and never had to fight for anything.

mya

YAY CHARLIE

Kat

Go Charlie! The boy yawning made me laugh

Juliette

Yeeeeeees, so proud of Charlie !!! 🥳

Neenie

The only one surprised is Charlie. His cute little face!
