As much as I love our cute cowboy checking out our hot pirate from across the dance floor, can’t help but feel vol 6 might have a bit of a switcheroo and now Charlie is starting to become more settled and accepting of himself, Nick isn’t and is going to realise more than ever he doesn’t know who he is without Charlie 🥺 Also, I am cracking up at Sahar’s vampire teeth and I don’t even know why I find it so funny 😂

This reminds me of Charlie coming to Harry’s party, except that now Nick is the one standing on the edge feeling a little anxious and nervous. I also love the details we have…the clock showing us it’s just after midnight, so they’ve been partying for awhile with their friends (Sahar’s vampire teeth are killing me, lol!) The parrot has survived the whole party (I’m dying to know how Charlie attached that to this shirt!) And my favorite , Tara has her hand on Charlie’s back, which really shows how into the dancing and singing they are (and is such a sweet sign of their comfortable friendship!). But, even in the midst of a chaotic dance floor, Charlie FEELS when Nick sees him, and looks up. We get that feeling that the rest of the party just melts away as their eyes meet and silently say, “Hi.” For right now, the whole world seems to feel exactly right (so why change it…I get it, Nick , but…👀)🥹❤️

Just looking back at the previous page where pensive Nick is hat-less (the easier to draw page!) and it's making me think of that scene at Harry's party when Nick goes off looking for Charlie (after the forced Tara introduction where Charlie walks off) and he's all serious and worried like in the 3rd panel here, but then he clocks Charlie, who clocks him back... and he's OK again 🙂.

Such a beautiful parallel/shift from Harry’s party when Charlie was a wall flower observing - now he can be present and have fun on the dance floor :) Nick will get there too someday soon and they will dance together 💜 a friend of mine once said, “the strongest relationships are when you can be on the dance floor and the balcony together”

This page reminds me so much of Nick seeing Tara and Darcy at Harry’s party, being happy for them for being who they are, when he was still figuring out how he felt about Charlie. I don’t know if this was supposed to be a parallel but still. Very interesting considering Nick’s going through some identity crisis there, and how proud he is of Charlie for putting his confident self out there. I Love this so, so much.
