Shin__

I swear for a second I thought Henry was a pillow.

Bailey Gibson

Even henry looks like he’s upset by this 😂

Chloe ♡

nick said talk to henry because i’m not listening lol

Natalia Seguel Arenas

Henry is an angry little loaf of bread 😠 “oh, mummy, look at my brother, how could you?!”

Vera Clark

Family are people who actually give a shit!! Lol

ama

Charlie

Yeah, I don’t blame you Nick. Take your emotional support pug and flop on your bed and have a snuggle. 🫂

Jo Mary

Aww poor nick just wanna hug him x 🤗 hope his gonna be okay 💕

Dippity_Dip

I’m obsessed with Henry’s face over nick’s shoulder from behind, he looks so cute and angry😭

Wildallie Diaz

OMG when Nick is serious is like looking at Kit!

Harriet Echo

Yeah you pop that kettle on. Yorkshire Tea will at least provide a cuddle balm for now! 😝💜

Jacqui Chesterton

I really feel for Sarah in the middle of this tbf

Brittney

Aww look at Henry's little adorable face 🥰 and I swear David not be a prick but then again he has been a prick before and it wouldn't surprise me if he's even more worse, thank you Alice though. Also best of luck for the surgery, you've got this!

Rae

All hail the Henry loaf

Carly Louise

Oh to have a loaf on your shoulder 🍞

Anna

Noo, their safe space in the Nelson house😢

Olivia Brookes

i think this might be maybe the third time i’ve ever seen nick actually angry

Victoria Panaro

Nick's angry face is totally understandable 😐

Bec

A very annoyed loaf of bread!! Alice, you have such a knack for capturing emotions in faces, particularly the eyes. Even in pups!!

Ameya

Poor Nick, but also, I don't envy Sarah's position caught between how to do right by both her sons.

Lindsey S

:( nick’s house was kinda nick and charlie’s safe space

hllwds

oh charlie you better come sooner to comfort your boyfriend, i can‘t see him this angry and sad

Hunter

Love Henry being a small little guy and his little face looking over Nick’s shoulder

Bee Levy

henry is nick's emotional support loaf 🙂‍↕️

Harriet Echo

Henry on the shoulder is killing me. Adorable ☺️

Tzatoky

Even Henry is looking back at Nick’s mom over Nick’s shoulder like “seriously? David?”

Vicky Saumell

I don’t think the warning will suffice and Nick will snap 🥺

Chloe ♡

im gonna guess nellie is hiding in nicks room from david and henry is nicks emotional support loaf

laura

yeah… i don’t think he’s going to be respectful 🫠

Desi23

Henry is angry too like Nick is! Hope David is doing well this time!

Molly Goat

Sarah, sweetie I love you, but this is gonna go so wrong so fast. Also we ❤️ Henry the shoulder bread loaf dog.

ella

I love how henry looks angry too😂

Sarah Jacobs

Omg Henry being as cranky as Nick is so so so so good! ❤️🍂

Heather Roberts

“Family are people who actually give a shit.” ~Nick Nelson

Lauren

This is NOT GOOD

Sabrina

Henry in loaf mode, I love it 😍 But Nick…my poor heart. He’s so not happy about this. Let’s hope (but he probably won’t) that David will behave. Nick doesn’t need his snidey comments, when he’s already struggling with everything 🥺

Jmejimz

“Maybe you should go stay with dad next time!” 😤 poor Nick…

DD 🍂

Omg I can’t with Henry’s little face!🥺❤️

Amanda Wetterer

I feel so bad for Nick. I hope David learns and gets better, but sometimes people are always assholes. Also all pugs look like a loaf of bread!! 🥖

Meowzer

I can see David being a d@ck already. He better watch out… Nick isn’t taking anyone’s BS anymore.

Maisie

Oh Nick :((( something tells me David’s gonna say something shitty and then Nick is gonna snap at him

Lex

It’s so rare we see angry Nick. Be better David.

Rafaela Molero

i hope that david won’t be bother nick

Robby C

Henry is the relief in all of Nick's silence.

Rottie_Lover

Poor David, always blaming everyone else but his dad. It's so sad that there are people like that in the world.

Tina

henry be like, cinnamon bum

Katie Swan

Was wondering why Nick was carrying a rolled up towel for a moment heheh Henry is such a squishhh

Maya

Nick toting Henry around the house like the emotional support pug that he is 🥹

Leah Della Croce

I'm kind of shook, not gonna lie. Feels weird seeing our golden retriever looking like he's about to bite someone (not that I blame him)

Chris

Henry looks like he is as unhappy as Nick 😡

Barb

Nick's angry eyes🥺🥺, what's going on?

Raeee✨

Alice, your art just keeps getting better! The way you’re able to age them up is so impressive. Nick looks so grown here.

aaronhotchnerswhore

Istg if David's gonna do smth ima kick him down the stairs

Nicole

I am obsessed with Henry and his little angry face!!!😡

Tiffany L

And presumably when she says respectful, she means more than just “language, David.” I love Sarah but there’s something more important to what David was saying to Nick than swearing.

Larisa

Queen Sarah, we love you but even you must see that David is going to be the bellend who triggers Nick's final breakdown

Luke

Henry = emotional support roll

Beth Acacia Kay

Something tells me that’s not gonna stop David from tearing down Nick tho. Poor Nick needs therapy and friends. Hopefully soon. Proud of him for knowing how bad David is for him and refusing to call him family. Good for him.

Ava

Henry is nicks emotional support since Charlie has been so busy with head boy and his job💖🥺

Maia

I love Henry’s tail!!

Sarah Parot

This got me thinking, where would she trace the ligne with his behaviour? And if he crosses it, what would be the consequences? Would she really have him leave? I know we all love Nick and David is really not nice, but he’s still her son. Could he realistically go to their dad? I don’t know, I find this whole situation very interesting!

Tina

that's what i always say when people compare david and ben. first of all yes david is a dickhead. but imo what ben did is a lot worse and unforgivable. but what i always say, ben is behind charlie now (im aware that the trauma is something he always carries with him, but i mean the physical person ben) david will always be nicks brother. and his big brother (someone who is supposed to protect you) at that. even if nick goes low/no contact with david, there will always be overlap. i guess that's why im hoping for david to work on himself so he can get some redemption with nick. also i think jack and nick would kill that storyline, in a potential s4z

Victoria Skye

henry’s just along for the ride

Yadira Aparicio

honestly i hope nick and david resolve their issues, they’re brothers after all and it would do good to nick to have more family on his side :( (it’s not needed if nick doesn’t want to of course, just a thought)

Avery moss

henry looking behind the shoulder to sarah like “look what you’ve done >:(“

KayKay

I love Henry just hanging out 😂 Nick baby I need you to speak up. To mum or Charlie or someone. It’s ok to talk about it!

Meghan Rachelle

Oh man. This one hurts. That "he's family" obligation that even well-meaning folks cling to is so hard.

Marie

Be gone, David!!! Nick looks so grown up but he is baby, leave him alone 😞❤️

Noemiette

I like the reminder that he is family. I think people tend to view David as this evil character totally separate of the "main" Nelsons, but he is not. There is history behind the way he is that started during their childhood, he didnt just pop up like that one day. He was raised by Sarah (and Stéphane for the first 9 years of his life). So i am very curious about this. To see if Sarah will not let anything slide, if Nick can start to fully stand up for him (things they both started doing, but just started), and see if David can finally let go of that probable rotten childhood jealousy he has been holding onto for too long

Julie

Henry is doing his job.

hayley_29

i LOVED when charlie said in s3 “so i just have to put up with ignorant comments from family”

Marie Antoinette

David needs some hard life lessons before he does something beyond repair Hopefully he can figure out who really is his family and it’s not his dad

syd

i hate david <3

Kat

The way that Sarah navigates the Nick and David conflict is so interesting to me. Because from Nick’s (and fan’s, since we’re all aligned with Nick) perspective, Sarah can sometimes be very minimizing when it comes to how she talks about David’s behavior. ‘Disrespectful’ is an understatement! But at the same time, David is her son and Sarah is trying to be the same mother to him as she is to Nick. She wants to give him the benefit of the doubt and offer him a safe space. It’s an interesting complication of her character and really challenges the idea of her being a perfect mother who always does the right thing. In this situation what *is* the right thing? I’m not personally sure, but I don’t think it’s necessarily the way Sarah is handling it (which is good writing of her character imo).

Karen DuVall

Another stressor for our dear Nick ☹️

X

came here to say this. that little V on Henry's forehead says it all! lol

Ciara Trexler

I’m so excited to see this play out Alice! I can tell it’s going to be good. Family dynamics are so complicated and I appreciate the way you’ve depicted them so accurately

Bluest JM

Respectful! Sarah always trying to keep the peace instead of getting to the real problem

MJ

I absolutely adore Henry on this page. Omg the little grumpy face!!! I'm so curious to see where Nick and David's relationship goes now that Nick is more sure of himself and his relationship. I wonder if Charlie will stand up to David as well.... Even if they are never best friends, David has a lot of room to be more accepting! So excited for more pages 🥰🥰🥰

zara ahmed !!

how does a wonderful parent like sarah end up with a son like david fr 😭 i know i’m tapping into one of the biggest psychology debates here but it’s just so insane that they’re brothers who were raised in the same household and ended up so different

zara ahmed !!

random but i am loving nick’s eyebrows on this page x

Elspeth Fougere

Gaaaaaahhhhhjh I REALLY hope Olivia Coleman makes a return in season 4 on netlfix.. my heart needs to see mama bear truely standing up... Or, wherever this is leading.. the little twerp has to be taken in hand. Nick is such a mr nice guy, and all respect to him for being peaceable, and civil, and also, enough is enough. I want him to show that he knows hes worthy of respect and consideration. Its hard when the world thinks that being a good ally is tolerating us, or listening to our pain, instead of actually taking the steps necessary to protect our lives and actually honour our goodness.

Kayleigh Clarke

Henry is the cutest loaf of bread! I really hope that Nick is able to still be comfortable at home 😢 he looks so unlike himself here 🥺

Dan

I love nick and Henry's matching angry faces!

Laura

As if David can be respectful

Lei Anne Cometa

the way he’s holding Henry. Goshhh so cuuuuteeee. 😍😍😍😍

Scott Whittall

Ya know, we do not get to choose our family. If someone is disrespectful, hurtful, and constantly unkind, they do not and will never deserve the family status. Who else than our LGBTQ community to better understand the concept of "Chosen Family with whom love, respect, and acceptance are bountiful. Nick has his chosen family with Charlie, Darci, Tara, Elle, Tao, and Isaac. Family is where we feel welcome, safe, loved , and free.

Olivia

100% would love to see this storyline play out with the two of them!!

ZooKeeperHere

Henry’s squishy little face looks just as annoyed as Nick ❤️

Nikki

Henry’s little face and tiny paws peeking over Nick’s shoulder is taking me out 🥹😭

Nikki

Don’t remember the last time we saw Nick this sad/angry… hope Henry is his emotional support loaf

Hannia Diaz

Im excited for this development, I love Sarah but *so far* I’ve found her too passive in stopping David from straight up bullying Nick.

tara🌞

nicks day really has gone to shit :( i can see some sort of outburst incoming!

Anna Varela

He needs a break 😭😭

Jessica

As the younger sibling in a two child family who has an older sibling very like David in a lot of ways....it is very possible. If Sarah is anything like my mum, she's trying to extend the expected unconditional love to both children and also trying to avoid conflict. Which, with the child who is more explosive, often means catering to them to save the peace because you know your more mild-mannered and empathetic child won't give you shit.

Cody

Bets on if David will turn a new leaf or just continue being a dick??

Carina

New study in just now… 99.9% of people can’t tell the difference between Henry and a loaf of bread

CinD

I feel bad for Sarah yes her son says hateful nasty things but he’s still her son and she doesn’t seem like the type to abandon her loved ones when things are hard… (cough Stéphane cough)

Sonia

In the end David is trying to have with his father the relationship that Nick has always had with his mother. He tries to please his father in everything. Looking forward to seeing how this dynamic changes.

EllieRLM

I HATE THAT FREAKING SENTENCE ! As TV Show Nick said, family is supposed to give a shit ! And also not be a DICKHEAD ! I know Sarah is in a difficult situation. Being stuck between your kids, even if it's very clear who's being a dick and who's not must be so heartbreaking...

Jessica

Also, if David is anything like my sibling, some of that behavior stems from a perceived favoritism between his mother and brother. A jealousy of that bond that he doesn't have. Not saying it's an excuse (obviously - I hated it when it was directed at me, still hate it when it crops up even now), but it's not really as black and white as "David is just awful", in my opinion.

Merel

Hmm how much good is a warning gonna do? I love Sarah but I think she's too forgiving towards David sometimes when she knows how he makes Nick feel. But I also get that it's very difficult as a mum to choose one child over the other...

John Barrow

I wanna see Nick punch David and hopefully that will stop him from being nasty towards him.

Claire

Henry's face has all the vibes here! And I doubt there has ever been a more aggressive click of the kettle button from Nick than this one right here. Sarah as a loving parent has to offer David a safe place at home. She knows that he (like Nick) is hurting from the lack of love and contact from his Dad. That in no way excuses David's terrible behaviour -- but as a parent she has to step up and be there for him like she is with Nick. I think this time though one more wrong move from David will be the last chance she gives him. David cannot be forgiven -- but I still hope he has some capacity to learn and grow. We will see.

James

Henry’s giving Sarah the evils for making him live with David as well

Faye

I think Nicks gonna lose it soon he needs to talk to Charlie

Merel

Is it weird that I kinda like seeing Nick this visibly upset? He tends to hide his real feelings under a happy-go-lucky facade, so I hope this will trigger something in him to drop that mask and actually express his emotions for once.

Dean Horn

Well, as soon as David says a word about Charlie, he could just say “So how’s your relationship going? Oh, that’s right, she kicked you out. I’ll get my relationship advice from someone who’s had a successful relationship, thank you very much. No f… off.” 😂

Polythene Pam

I'm loving how grown up he looks ❤️ our baby boy 🥹

UpstandingGoose

I can't pay attention to anything that isn't Henry's tail 😭

Tanya

It hurts to see Nick having to deal with David again, but I’m reminded that Harry and even Ben have learned and become (marginally) better people from knowing Nick and Charlie. They weren’t forgiven, but maybe a better future with David could be possible?

Jeffrey Ricker

I've got a bad feeling about this....

Hanne Kirkebø

I fear Nick may snap soon, he’s already feeling stressed, and David being home is definitely not helping at all

Andrew Pitonack

Poor Nick, nothing good will come from this

Beth Yoshida

I really feel Nick in this, because I had that dynamic with my older and everyone would tell me to ignore it and let it go. I know they didn't mean to cause harm but it did end up badly affecting my Mental health for a very long time. My sister and I don't speak anymore.

Katy Boelter-Dimock

Yes! I realized I don’t remember Alice ever drawing a truly angry/grumpy Nick (I guess at Stephane, over dinner, maybe.) Hoping all this stress provides a path to growth!

Synz

awww nick looks so different in this chapter 🤍

mikecamer

Well, he can start being respectful by picking up his shoes! Would be interesting to see David a little broken and ask Nick for advice. Not redemption but a turnaround in their relationship. Really looking forward to seeing Nick's impending growth.

Lisa

Poor Nicks world as he knows it is slightly imploding. First it appears that Charlie is distancing himself from Nick, first by quitting the rugby team and then by working all the time (I know that’s not what he’s actually doing, but that’s what it looks like to Nick) Then David resurfacing and moving back home. Not to mention all of the other added pressures he has from the team, school, exams & graduating with enough credits for uni. Probably friend pressure too. Everything is changing for him and it looks like he really needs a non-participant in all of that to talk to. I really hope he can get someone before he ends up saying, or doing, something which he can’t take back or later regret.

Jenny Delcher

I agree with all the comments I have read. But am I the only one who thinks that Nick looks so much more grown up in this page ? His facial expression and posture make him actually look like a man… might just be me.

Jomaries Amezaga

That last panel! Nick’s face is perfect! It communicates his anger! I love your illustrations!

Puppies&Kittens

Sarah I know David is your child too but GIRL, you have to be honest with yourself about your kid… from one mom to another. Whew.

Emily Hopkins

I so deeply love that Nicks showing his emotions here, it's so frustrating dealing with a family member who constantly doesn't respect your boundaries.

Beam Bugge

he was very angry when harry used the f-slur (and rightfully so) but yeah it's been awhile since he's truly gone off

Mareike

I feel like we might soon be getting the reverse of Charlie fighting with his mum and running over to Nick's in Volume 5...

Merel

That's true! I feel like it might be easier for him to express himself when it comes to protecting the people he loves.

boombroadcast

“I think family are the people who actually give a shit.” -Nick Nelson, Heartstopper Season 3!!!! Henry is so chill 🍞

Sulagna Maitra

I wonder if Henry growls at David, just like Nelly does 😂

Harri Watson

He looks so grown up and the anger he’s finally showing rather than bottling up is a good sign!

shpepanie

From a totally different perspective I can feel Nick’s anger, fear and frustration about home not being a safe place anymore. Having to warn a family member about respectful behaviour is a red flag the size of Argentina.

SoraNoRyu

I feel like it might have been nice for Nick to get a little advance warning, rather than finding out when Dave is already in the house.

Sulagna Maitra

That would be very interesting! Charlie has been supportive of Nick since his "full on gay crisis" days! And I love how Charlie lets his kind eyes do all the talking and then he hugs Nick with all his might! 🥹 The slight issue is, they won't have ANY privacy at Charlie's place! 😂😂😂

James

The only other instances I can think of involve Harry or Ben

Caitlin

Gonna be honest the “they’re family” excuse never sits right with me. It’s used too often to justify abuse and toxic behaviors. Having to warn David and knowing in the past he has never once abided by those warnings sets me on edge and I can feel Nick’s frustration. I love Sarah but sometimes you have to take a hard look and realize that even if you love someone, they shouldn’t be around to keep hurting others. I hope it resolves well for Nick because he looks ready to break.

Murgy

Henry, no judging Sarah. She is being a good mother. Yes, Nick and David don't get on, but David is her son to. Just be prepared to pounce on David if he starts acting up. Though Nick loosing his main safe space is aa major blow, especially as its also the main one he has that doesn't automatically mean Charlie is there, which he needs, especially when he is unsure of who he is on his own.

ucfnurse

Nick needs his emotional support dog!!☺️😊🫂🐶🙊🌷✨🎂💞🥳🫖🥞✌️🕊️☮️

Merel

Yup, and I feel like that's really just because Charlie was involved in those cases. Nick already didn't like Harry and Ben, but he only started showing it once he got closer to Charlie and noticed how they were treating him. Nick is good at standing up for those he loves, but I guess it's easier for him to ignore and hide his own feelings.

Justin S.

I worry for Nick. He’s gonna have a blowup moment from keeping everything in

Galen Longstreth

I like thinking that maybe Nick's able to let his emotions show a little more than usual around his mom. Or maybe he's just so frustrated he can't hold it in. (Maybe both.)

NellieSayzBork

God, Nick's really going thru it... I hope someone's there to support him.

James

I think Sarah is so kind and full of love and seeing the good in people that it'd be extremely difficult, maybe impossible for her to ostracise David. She probably also sees straight through any fascade of his and just sees his pain underneath and wants to help him and can't help not wanting to. It must be a horrible, horrible conflicting situation for her.. In the long run, David's probably needs her more than Nick even if he isn't ready to accept her help and love yet.

Cliff

I’ve long had the theory that David is a jerk as far as Nick was concerned because David was young at the time of the divorce, but an overwhelmed Sarah gave him the “I need you to be the man of the house now” spiel. As a result, he thought Nick stole his childhood. It was probably he who took Nick to all the rugby practices, etc.

Jessica

Love this! I’m wishing you the best for your breast reduction surgery. Going under anesthesia is always scary but I have had the best luck with a few of my surgeries, I hope recovery goes well!

Galen Longstreth

My older sister and I are very different, and I can really relate to what Jessica wrote, about parents having to (choosing to) keep the peace by devoting a lot of energy to managing the David-like sibling and acting as a buffer for the rest of the family. In our case, undiagnosed and un-supported neurodivergence was part of the dysfunction. I wish I'd understood my sister better when we were younger, because a lot of her behaviors that felt really hard to live with (and mean, disrespectful, bullying, etc.) were, I now think, manifestations of her distress and overwhelm. I'm fully on Nick's side, and I realize we might never get that deep with David's character, whatever the causes might be. Jessica just got me thinking.

Nils

Someones looking fierce. However I have to concur with his mother. He is family and as much as it pains me, his behaviour while not acceptable hadn't reached cut of limit. So yeah he deserves to get a chance, but I hope and I am sure that he will be on notie and that she will bring the hammer down if he steps out of line. Her condition he has to be respectful is sincere not the throw away line some spout if they want to avoid a topic.

Cliff

But is he truly showing all of his anger? He still looks bottled up to me. I’m worried about an explosion.

Tiffany Vu

Oh, Sarah. Yes, he's family and you don't want your son out on the street, but you've seen how he bullies your other son and makes him feel unsafe in his own home! The fact that she didn't talk to Nick about this beforehand (not asking his permission, just informing him so he can prepare) will probably lead to a nasty wakeup call for her. I'm glad to see Alice showing that even great parents aren't perfect, and I hope we see Nick call out this lack of communication.

Elsie 3

Totally agree with you! And, I do kinda love that Sarah is a believably imperfect mom. Like she’s so incredible to Nick in so many ways but often seems so at a loss in terms of how to respond to David’s behavior and how to support Nick when David is being out of line and/or abusive. Not that I want Nick to go through it, of course, but it’s realistic that Sarah would be imperfect and gives Nick important depth. I also think the theme of dealing with parents who aren’t always perfect (and sometimes very far from it) is such an important one in HS.

Nick Jones

Oh Sarah honey… (I’m southern US and I’m hearing that in my Mother’s voice…)

Calfic

I'm a little like him, and people say I'm easygoing until I'm not. I have never been in this situation with my siblings, but I have had it with ex-partners, and my resentments just boil over. And I just have had it.

Harri Watson

Of course he’s still keeping stuff inside- but he’s better than he was at the start of the comic. Where no one would even be able to tell.

Leah Della Croce

oh I definitely get it. My father is very easy going but his oldest brother was a huge bully to him their whole lives and the sight or mention of him sets my dad off

RCM

I can't help but take in a really exhausted sigh as I absorb the mood(s) in the Nelson kitchen right now...we have Sarah, who is clearly aware of how hard this news must be for Nick. She softly refers to him as "Baby" which makes me think that is an affectionate term she probably used when Nick was little, maybe even to explain Stephane's absence (and resultant rejection)...and the heaviness that she wears on her face in the second panel..."he's family..." I honestly don't know if she is talking to Nick or herself more here, and this carries over into her "I've given him a warning" as she speaks with closed eyes and crossed arms...it's like she is pleading with the universe that MAYBE that warning will work this time. We all love and adore Sarah because of her wonderful and idyllic response to Nick's coming out (as every parent should do!), as well as her continued ability to trust and respect Nick as his own person as he got older...but to me, what stands out about Sarah is her desire to be connected to both her kids...to be a grounding point, regardless of whether they "deserve it" or not. There is no doubt that David is (currently) a huge asshole, and I see Sarah trying to walk that fine line between supporting him as her hurting son with displaced anger in the hopes that he might receive that love and tackle some emotional growth, versus enabling him to keep on his present path toward utter dickdom. It's a hard job as a parent, and no parent does it perfectly, not even my beloved Sarah Nelson. Then, we have NICK, and I am so happy to see him so, so ANGRY. Sarah knows he would be upset about David, but she also doesn't fully know where Nick is emotionally right now (which might change her approach to David too!). LET IT OUT, NICK!! Blow up. Explode. Yell, rant, scream, just have that catharsis and let it all out. Your mum CAN and WILL be able to handle it, then, maybe, you can finally start to really work and process it...

Tim Patton

Acting like a loaf of bread is every pug’s dream - eating a loaf of bread is every pug’s goal! Go Henry!

James

Yes that's definitely a good point about him reacting more to other people's feelings. In fact I expect there's a part of him that tolerates David simply because it makes Sarah happy.

Merel

He's people pleasing to the point where it actively harms him 🥲 I'm really curious to see where this storyline is heading and what it means for his personal growth

Rhonda Mitchum

I will hurt David if he does anything to my sweet boys. I think Charlie will stand up to him now

James

oc whether that's a strength or weakness on Sarah's part is I guess open to debate, and probably somewhat subjective

Arah!☆

He better😡

Evergreen

Ah, the optimism of mothers. The certainty that their kids will stop being assholes if they just talk about it with them one more time. Bless their little mom hearts.

Beam Bugge

that's a great point, never thought about it that way! there's a huge difference between not being safe at school (which charlie experienced during year 9 with the bullying and year 10 with ben) and not being safe at home (which nick experiences whenever david is present)

aaronhotchnerswhore

Nah whole body, whole body toucher is better, coming from someone who is obsessed with true crime and the fbi bau

Rosie

Really feeling the heaviness of Nick’s emotional state here… thank goodness for the adorable little sushi pug roll that is Henry! Nick needs all the comfort he can get right now ❤️‍🩹

Mikaila Shaw

Really hoping Nick sends Charlie another message asking him over, or to go to Charlie's

Katy

Poor Nick❤️❤️❤️

HLMac88

Poor Nick, he really needs his Charlie

aniatka

Yes! I have the same feeling. This may be unreasonable, but I hope David will mess something up, Nick will get pissed off and finally open up and talk. What do you think Alice about such a twist? 🤣😇❤️

Anna Deligio

Henry's face is like a mirror to Nick's feelings. ❤️

Margarita

sarah, we love you, but we both know he's not going to keep his mouth shut...

Ariel

😥😭 Henry is such a cutie....but we are all with Nick rn❤️

E

Nick being angry is at least him showing an emotion and not pretending that he is fine. So, a step in the right direction...?

flynn tasker

guys maybe he has changed for the better! you never know! (he probably hasnt)

Katrina

Poor Nick :(

Joni

I swear Henry is giving Sarah dirty looks over Nick’s shoulder…not that any of this is her fault.

Loveislove

I am beginning to wonder if Nick learned to repress his feelings from Sarah. She is brave enough to divorce her ex and try to create a safe and loving family. David, however, has grown up with anger issues. I think he is much more of a dick in the comics and more pathetic sliding towards possible redemption in the tv show so we shall see where that goes. Sarah is kind and loving but may avoid deeper exploration of issues. She lovingly accepted Nick's coming out on a one to one basis. But when conflict arises with David, she defaults to worrying about language and respect. She is getting there but a conversation about biphobia, homophobia, cruelty and bullying are more relevant. I believe David is a man in emotional trouble and yep - this whole family can benefit from therapy sessions. Divorce is tough and the struggle is real.

Loveislove

Kind of like when Charlie said he was so angry instead of sorry - progress!

Lolli98

The puppy's face over Nick's shoulder expressing Nick's exact feelings is so great!😄 But I havn't seen Nick's face this angry since the fight with Harry, I guess...

Kat

Loaf Henry lol. Love it!! Glad Nick is setting his boundaries I hope David can respect them!

Amanda SILVA

I can't wait for S04, Nick holding Henry all the time ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Jennifer Paddock

I feel like Charlie needs to have Geoff recommend a good family therapist for the Nelsons - Nick needs to express his emotions (in a healthy way; I feel like David is going to be the target of an explosion that isn't 100% about him), Sarah needs to understand that being nice isn't enough (and she needs some coping mechanisms for addressing the real emotions that David and Nick will definitely be letting out soon), and David needs to learn to respect his brother and accept him for who he is (and address his abandonment issues - actually they probably all need that last one). No family is perfect!

Sarah Duzynski

I don't think David is going to be respectful despite Sarah's warning. In the post from yesterday, when Nick walks in the house David's shoes are just in the way on the floor. That is already showing a lack of respect because anyone could trip over his shoes. It will be interesting to see the interaction between Nick and David.

David doesn't listen though, Sarah! (And omg look at baby Henry glaring the same as big brother Nick 🥰🥰)

Mrspoems

Henry's tail is giving cinnamon bun vibes.

The explosion is definitely coming. I really feel for Sarah Nelson here. Nick and Charlie need to stand up for themselves but they shouldn't have to. David simply should not be this much of a dick. Period. His reasons may be well-known, and it may be Stephane's fault, but David is now an adult. And he has a choice to make: What kind of adult is he going to be? And further, he has a choice: what kind of a brother is he going to be? Why can he never, ever, express any kind of love for his brother at all, in spite of all the love his mother showed him, and his younger brother looking up to him? Sooner or later he has to take responsibility for CHOOSING to be a total dick.

Nick looks so grown up here omg!! can’t wait to see where his story goes next💗

I’m am concerned for Nick. He’s under a lot of stress

Loveislove

I would bet that David's failed relationship has something to do with negative choices he makes. Time to mature and follow the example of his mother and brother and their love and positivity instead. It's never too late to make a change!

James

He's also, what, 21-22? That's still super young. He got plenty time for a redemption.

Eileen

Chance for both Nick and David to show growth

rickettyuncles

Not just you! I totally see it—though it’s partly those angry eyes, especially the narrowed ones in the last frame! Growing up and mad as hell

artxsta

i’ve never considered this take but it makes total sense! i assumed that nick started to repress whatever he was feeling to be strong for the ppl he cares about (his mom, charlie, etc) but him LEARNING it from sarah makes so much sense actually. she probably hid the pain that the divorce caused her from the boys, but bc david went off to uni and nick stayed with her, david became resentful and bitter while nick became thoughtful and kind.

Michelle wright

I do worry about Nick 😔 I can't wait to see where you go with this Alice!

brie

nick suddenly looks so old here 😭😭 where does the time go

Tina

will volunteer to be the no bullshit girlfriend of david that calls him out for his micro aggressions

Robert

The last thing Nick needs. Let's hope his confused demolishing David at their Dad's dinner still holds good.

Michelle Glegg

I definitely agree about David being worse in the books. Alice and Kit have said in interviews he is more three dimensional in the show

von

The cutest baby loaf of bread

I thought I felt seen only because of my mental health issues (bipolar), but I see you Nick. I also have a complicated relationship with my brother, but as your mum says (and my parents) he's family 🤷🏻.

Neenie

Nick angrily making tea because he doesn’t think David cares to be respectful
