it's an interesting dynamic to see them falling into intimacy so much when what really needs to happen is a talk. i really appreciate it though! it's so easy in storytelling to rely on age-old third party entries / love triangles into a relationship that having the personalities of the characters themselves impact on how things are going is really lovely to see. feel like this is going to be pretty satisfying to look back on when the storyline's progressed more and more!

Well - there is the confirmation of which is the hanky panky house. I'm not sure this is going to be a positive thing unless as they don't seem to be choosing a quiet and discreet path to pleasure. There is no way Charlie has a lock on his door and neither one of them is going to be happy with the consequences of being walked in on...by Oliver or anyone else. This seems like a reckless move by Nick. Is it their normal horniness or falling into a pattern of using sex to create a connection and avoid expressing confusing and upsetting feelings?

"Phones exist" sure translated quickly in Nick's head to "we have to make the most of every single minute we have left.." Goodness, remember how LONELY he felt in the dorm rooms on JUST the college visit trip? I mean, I don't blame him at all here...Nick has been feeling off for months, and he remains very unsettled about himself and his future choices. What is and has been and will keep being the one thing that makes him feel better? Charlie Spring...and the closer the better...so Nick is in a ready to completely throw all caution to the wind (surely JANE won't come in, right?), make Charlie swoon mode. I love the details in the small inset panel with their feet totally intertwining (usually it's just their toes touching, lol) showing how relentless Nick is in his need to close all the space between them so he can JUST FEEL GOOD, FEEL LIKE HIMSELF...sweet love that he is, he is STILL trying to freeze time and NOT THINK...BUT, "Uh-," the partially unclothed and very willing boyfriend and the flushed blushes and the rampant sparkles and the messy hair and their very much shared horny desire are all creating quite the dilemma for Charlie! His face in that last panel feels like he has the shoulder angel and the shoulder devil tugging him in different directions, poor thing! And, we don't even know if his parents are home, but we know for sure Michael, Oliver, and Tori are all very nearby, and it's one thing to be potentially caught by your friends versus being potentially caught by your LITTLE BROTHER, because, there are no locks in the Spring household for sure! Not to mention all the little nuances Charlie has been noting recently about Nick's behavior are also still floating around in Charlie'e head (well, they were at least up until that first kiss by you know who...) SUCH a good page, AGAIN!

They came home together after school, after a big day where charlie stood up to some bullies and nick was proud of him for being a good leader and head boy.. when they got home saw michael was there, who they hadnt caught up with or seen for three months, olly wanted to play with nick, and charlie touched base with tori while nick and michael got enthusiastic about sports for a minute.. then they headed up to charlies room which was probably where they were headed afterschool anyway.. its pretty likely they were both affected by realising tori is applying to edinburgh and michael being away for three months already, I imagine it made them both want to affirm to each other how special they feel, and to feel good together the way they do, and comfort and remind each other of that love, and nurture their security with each other in the moment. Plus teenage horny hormones. Its ok if they want to reassure each other physically rather than talking, but it seems like charlie is aware nick might have been making do for a while and might need encouragement to open up in other ways too, not just keep being too busy to properly emotionally connect as well.
