This page screams joy!!! There is so much fun happening it almost looks as if it should be a pop-up book LOL!! Charlie's beaming face! He is having so much fun. Elle and Tao are not standing together, but at least they are smiling. It looks as if the base player has a star on top of their hijab. I think the star is on the wall, but either way it's really festive.

Confident Charlie is enjoying himself, getting really into it. Hopefully the antlers don't drop down over his eyes at the wrong moment :P Tara is really enjoying herself as well it seems, as is everyone. But just because people appear happy on the outside doesn't mean they are doing ok, especially with Nick's doubts and Charlie's ED seemingly casting its shadow again, hopefully briefly. Check on your friends if you can. And Alice, the page looks fantastic, well worth the effort you've put into it :)

SIX incredible panels again, Alice! You are spoiling us!! Seriously though, this whole page showing all the different perspectives in such carefully detailed drawings works to create such a happy, festive holiday ENERGY, and those big, loud music notes tie it all together...plus I love seeing Sahar in her element, and how precious is the whole band so confident in their rock playing skills (and Charlie's revealing short sleeves that he isn't the least bit self-conscious over...damn!). They are clearly having a blast! I keep going back to one of the many things that Heartstopper does so well (to me), and that is how it normalizes that mental health struggles aren't always an all or none thing...it often takes time to recognize what is happening, and that time varies between people and their particular struggles. Heartstopper shows us how you can be happy and in love, and also have very anxious and uncertain moments, and that having both these high and low feelings co-existing is still valid. We have seen Nick have a slow build this whole volume up to his worst nightmare ever, and here he is a few days later (still not having dealt with it properly I must add) having genuine fun cheering his very hot boyfriend on at his concert...It's like a one step forward/three steps backward dance right now, and in a way, this pub night gets them all of their heads for a bit, and offers space to just feel good and maybe even feel more grounded as they party with their friends. And, we see that a still distanced Tao and Elle need this, and a lover of dancing Tara (her outfit is just perfect with the draping sweater!) who is worried about Darcy needs this, a pint in his hand Aled needs this, and our well versed at wearing a protective shield Nick Nelson needs this. Dance. Sing. Drink. Laugh. Get lost in that holiday ENERGY that Queer Intentions is bringing. (and I'm going to stop here because this is a happy, fun page, yet my heart feels very concerned that Nick's taking of the next three steps BACKWARD are not too far off in this "Green Dragon" pub...)
