Tara's love for Darcy is so incredible. Darcy needs to be out of that unhealthy environment. I said it before and I will say it again, who understands more than us gays how utterly lifesaving chosen families are. When our birth family rejects our normal, we find a loving tribe who loves and accepts us. With the Green Dragon in the rearview mirror, Charlie is looking pensive. Nick is so sweet sleeping it off. Really looking forward to the conversations tomorrow morning. Darcy sounds like they are ready to try their appropriate pronouns. Yay.

Love!! And it is wonderful that Darcy has a mother figure in Tara's mum! Also, Darcy has to deal with stuff, but with that assurance from Tara, I feel their friends can be supportive while dealing with their own issues. (I'm looking at you, Nick.) and maybe Darcy wanted to try to keep some peace with her mom; she had wanted to explore being nonbinary but didn't want to rock the boat, but is open to it now. So glad Nick is asleep, and that Nick and Charlie didn't need to take an Uber. Charlie looks a little shellshocked, which is understandable. He just wanted a fun night with friends. Also, my mom's first car (at least when I was little) was a Fiat, so I always feel a little nostalgic when seeing that in a book or comic. And Tara being Tara not just for Darcy, but for all of them. So good.

I'm assuming Nick's so Jane and Julio don't see Nick in his drunken state. I'm worried that Nick will again attempt to blow off communication and go to rugby. Who knew that riding in a snug Fiat 500 late at night could prove so calming, so safe (well, for everyone except Charlie, that is)...I'm just so happy that this night of all nights is wrapping up because it's been a doozy! (and now I know I will NEVER enter any place called the Green Dragon, lol!) I love how pissed Tara is (rightfully so), and I love how she already knows her mum won't mind Darcy coming (very unexpectedly) to live with them...(that is the best kind of parent, I tell you!)...I also have happy, warm tears for Darcy's "I can pay rent money" statement, which essentially covers her hidden meaning of "based on prior life experiences at a house, I can only be allowed to live there if it's conditional, if we agree on some transaction, if I can prove myself worthy and therefore not be burdensome". I can only imagine the horrible words Darcy's mum has said to her over the years that are on replay in Darcy's head: "you are worth nothing to me unless you ________." Tara cuts right through that internalization of self-doubts with her immediate reply, "Don't be stupid," which essentially tells Darcy, "we WELCOME you..all of you, simply because it is YOU and I LOVE YOU, we love you. There is nothing you can or should feel that you have to do to "earn" your right to be. You deserve love and safety and family...and know you are so VALUED, and you are so WORTHY, all by simply being YOU." It seems like a small thing being only 3 words, but the genuine reassurance Tara brings by saying that is life giving! (and all while she keeps her hands at 10 and 2 and her eyes on the road. God, I love Tara!!! ). And Darcy feels that immediate relief of "I am enough, aren't I?!" to go ahead and suggest, " I think...." (this thing I have been thinking about and shared with you the other day, well, now I feel safe and loved and valued and...) "I should try it." YES, DARCY, YES!!!!! Shifting to the backseat, oof, we have that our party going golden retriever has found HIS favorite napping spot, and is looking so calm and peaceful with glimmering stars shining around his head. Finally! BUT, there is also CHARLIE, wide-eyed and deeply worried, with his raised eyebrows, raised shoulders (I mean, it's Charlie..he would be sure his seat belt was in the right position (well, after he made sure Nick's was)...but here his seatbelt is all wrong, clicked in place like an afterthought and totally not focused on his own safety/well being...Charlie is absorbing (and probably feeling responsible somehow) for Tao and Elle, and Darcy and Tara, and more than anything, for Nick. He looks like the weight of the world is on him and he is trying his best to hold it all together...and outside of his window, surrounding his head, are these blurry, messy light streaks, like life is happening faster and more chaotically than he can control or "fix"...WHAT IS HE GOING TO DO??? (Breathe, Charlie...channel your inner Geoff...)

😂😂😂😂 NGL, I was enjoying the edge of the seat stuff at the Green Dragon 🐲.... mainly because I know the characters and Nick and Charlie's relationship is safe with you! 🤗🫶 The pub chaos took me back to when I was reading Loveless and I was dying to know how everything is going to be resolved and more importantly how everyone is going to find the words to convey their feelings to each other!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

One more comment. In a way I feel the worst for charlie in this moment. Darcy has Tara's support and it may be hard, but they will work through it At the moment, Charlie has no one to talk to (I mean I feel terrible for Darcy, but you know what I mean) And I know Charlie and Nick will work through it too, but not tonight. And all of Charlie's friends are dealing with their own stuff, so they can't be there for him really. (And I'm not blaming anyone; sometimes that is how it is, but...)Really, if I were him, I would get an appointment with Geoff STAT.

Ah Tara to the rescue with a loving family who love Darcy as well. I'm glad Darcy has supportive people outside of her friend group. And I'm glad to see that despite everything, Darcy is still being themselves, and seems like they're ready to take another step in their life going forward and working out who they are. That last panel of Darcy, they look so in love to me there. Also, Nick is going to be a pain to get out of the car as he is fast asleep right now.

as much as i will forever love to hate the green dragon, im glad that this sequence and this space provided an opportunity (albeit an unfortunate one) for the boys to see what’s going on w their friends. although this night was a lot abt nick’s issues coming to the surface, i really appreciated how tao & elle’s argument disproves nicks commonly held belief that love is the band-aid that fixed all problems… and i’m now interested to see how tara & darcy’s situation will affect the boys. i feel so bad for darcy but wow, everyone dreams of a partner like tara, so reassuring, so supportive, so empathetic, she sees ppl in ways they often can’t see themselves. so long, the green dragon 🐉🍻

Then again, Tara and Darcy could have talked about the pronouns before and since there might not be as much space for that particular „evolution“ in the comics as in the show (cf. ”I hate gender“ at the beach, ”I hate being called a lady“ at the zoo), this might be the way to introduce Darcy‘s new pronouns in the comics. I am looking forward to finding out. Definitely good for Darcy to have gotten out of that hell hole of a ”home“

Tara and Darcy are always such brave leaders! In earlier volumes/seasons, they inspired Nick with their kiss and open hand-holding, they were the first to say “I love you” and also earlier to have sex and now they are showing N&C (well just Charlie in this instance lol) the benefits of talking things through. I love this golden thread woven throughout the story.

I love that Nick is fast asleep with the two people he has the closest historical and emotional connection with: Tara and Charlie. He's safe in that car, and can let his guard down enough to sleep on Charlie's shoulder. Charlie seems like he is half worried and half- just getting over the shock of the various events of the night and trying to process everything, since most of the developments were unsettling in one way or another. Charlie seems to be staring into the face of an uncertain future, where everything suddenly looks more unstable, and the only constant seems to be Nick's love. No wonder he looks like he's just seen a ghost.

I love Tara in this page so much. I love how (rightfully) angry she is and how protective of Darcy. You can see Darcy’s face change from worried and uncertain in the second panel to in love and confident in the last. ❤️‍🩹
