Not the archive you're expecting (Patreon)

Going back over my last few posts, I see that I've mentioned the Domesday Duplicator a few times, but I think I've only gone into detail about it on Discord. Put simply, a Domesday Duplicator is little device that allows one to capture the raw analog signal from a modded laserdisc player, VCR, or other old media devices. These raw captures are the closest you can get to a perfect backup of the disc/tape, and once decoded will give a higher quality video file than more traditional capture methods.

It's a long-winded way of saying I'm digitizing laserdiscs I've deemed worth preserving. Mostly Playboy discs from 1980s & 1990s, although there are others.

The ones I've processed so far are up on Mega, though I may post them to the Internet Archive eventually. Each of these videos have been scaled up to 1080p (from 480i), because that seems to compress better than leaving them at their original resolution. It doesn't make them look any better, but at least it doesn't make them look worse. I don't use AI upscaling, either, because that to me DEFINITELY would make them look worse...

When I have more time, I may set up a separate Patreon for these laserdisc backups & the Metamorphoses thing, but for now they're at least something I can share here.
