The animation IS better generally, they put a lot more work into the non-combat moments. They spent a lot of time on making character movement during conversation look really good and other little moments like that, the small details

idk if anyone's said this vert but when Yuji notices the bloodstains in that tunnel and the blonde woman says it was from an incident 12 years ago, she is referring to when Toji shot that girl right in front of Geto. This was the start of all the issues in the jujutsu society that she mentioned as it started Geto's hate for non sorcerers and therefore leading to him becoming a villain, then dying, then becoming taken over by Noritoshi Kamo which then led to Gojo being sealed. Pretty easy detail to miss as they only had a short amount of vague dialogue in that scene.

I'm willing to bet no one's mentioned The Culling Games to you for two reasons: 1. The season's not done so it's unfair to judge an incomplete arc against a finished one. Plus, while it ain't likely, the 2nd half could be ass in comparison. Lots of shows like this one have been releasing half the season at a time, likely due to extensive development times. It takes a lot to make a show where every episode has the level of quality that this one does. 2. Better to let you experience it completely blind. Not super sure of this one, but it's how *I* feel, at least. Also, to anwser you question about the animation, yes it has changed. New director if memory serves. Same studio though. Whether the quality is higher is subjective. I much prefer season 3 though.

Fortunately, I think a lot of us have some real confidence that they aren't going to make the latter half garbage. When an anime is that good, it's kinda rare. Sometimes that happens because it's rushed on a schedule, but... so far they've been real good about all that. Sure, depends on the viewer and their taste too, but I just don't see that happening. Sure hope not anyway, man.

1:56:51 The animation is definitely better. MAPPA racked up ALOT of money from the Chainsaw Man movie along with the show and season 2 of JJK. So that’s why the production value and visuals of JJK S3 are as delightful as it is. What also helps is the vibrant unique coloring and shading giving it a more 2.5D slightly realistic feel.

It's so funny. It was probably the biggest meme in anime community back then. There are one for every manga/anime i would say.
