Small talkOh helloGlad to see youHow are thingsYes my things are good tooI’ve been meaning to tell you that somewhereThere will be a deep green leaf curled over a pond in the nighttimeIn a place where the air has purpled in gauzy fog light somewhereExists this scene of the deep green leaf quivering over the blackPond water beaded with rain yes there is rain I forgot somewhereThere will be rain falling on the young green leaf into the vaporousWater of the pond which has existed forever, forever below the deepGreen leaf shaped like a mouth which collects raindrops like a mouthPattered silly by the magenta rain somewhere will the infant leafHarbor inside itself a pearl of rain which will swell with new pearlsCreating a critical crystalline orb heavy enough to roll to the crispEdge of the leaf which is sharp and tender with moon glow the clearGlobe suspended there for a moment like a tear from an eye it will clingLike a tear from an eye then will fall and chaos shatter on the pitchSurface of the perfect pond and fold into a vastness made of itselfInto a vastness made of itself and the former drop will go on existingIn many different ways and well there is always rain in this placePlus even more leaves than the one I mentioned so as you can imagineThis sort of thing is happening all the timeI’m glad I was able to tell you thisSorry if I went on a bitYes so nice to see youI do enjoy our talksUntil next timeGoodbye

'Folding into a vastness made of itself' caused a whole pond of emotions in me. Really like this one

Some things are just so existentially healing, and your poems (no matter how dark) will always take care of me in some ways <3 yesterday I went clubbing for the first time in the past few years and it was a somewhat shattering experience because I really REALLY didn’t enjoy myself even though I tried really hard. I went with a friend and talked to a few strangers but just like them I didn’t really take an interest in the conversations (even tho I was really animated the whole time ) because I noticed how they weren’t really interest either because all of us knew that we‘re never going to see each other again. This poem of yours particularly feels so refreshing to me with my experiences from yesterday, because it is probably what I would’ve preferred to talk about (or just listen really) instead of the shallow small talk I‘ve endured. (I’ll stop complaining now, I love people during daylight)

Always love your use of imagery. Without sounding too cliche or obvious, there is a distinct poetry to the way you use words, even in novels.

ahhhh! so lovely, chica! reminds me a bit of merwin's "yesterday"… Yesterday ~W. S. Merwin (1927 – 2019) My friend says I was not a good son you understand I say yes I understand he says I did not go to see my parents very often you know and I say yes I know even when I was living in the same city he says maybe I would go there once a month or maybe even less I say oh yes he says the last time I went to see my father I say the last time I saw my father he says the last time I saw my father he was asking me about my life how I was making out and he went into the next room to get something to give me oh I say feeling again the cold of my father's hand the last time he says and my father turned in the doorway and saw me look at my wristwatch and he said you know I would like you to stay and talk with me oh yes I say but if you are busy he said I don't want you to feel that you have to just because I'm here I say nothing he says my father said maybe you have important work you are doing or maybe you should be seeing somebody I don't want to keep you I look out the window my friend is older than I am he says and I told my father it was so and I got up and left him then you know though there was nowhere I had to go and nothing I had to do
