I’ve been meaning to tell you that somewhereThere will be a deep green leaf curled over a pond in the nighttime

That's probably the best possible ending of my Sunday evening, thank you

Toby

There is a great sense of comfort in listening to this; in how the leaf can sustain itself & how all the elements co-exist even within the nocturnal circumstances in this contained space, a force of nature within itself that allows for an unapologetic recalling of detail and an unbreakable sense of self awareness when you open up to the environment around you, resulting in creating the essence of said small talk at it's uncapped potential. Lovely stuff. The rain gently patters on the roof as I type this. It sounds pleasant. :)

I'm imagining the acquaintance standing there, stunned in silence, while this person describes a beautiful moment completely unprompted and it's making me laugh. Love it!

Anyone can smalltalk me this way anytime. There's a threshold which, when crossed, reminds us of the sacred within the mundane. To be humbled to your knees looking for a leaf with accumulating rain gently dripping from its edge, in a place filled with leaves, and rain, is the goal of life isn't it?
